Per the bolded, What stopped Obasanjo from making a port in Ogun waterside? What stopped Jonathan from opening a new port in Bayelsa or at least upgrading the ones in Onne and PH to compete with that of Lagos?

Jonathan completed Onitsha inland water port but Buhari concessioned it to the same company that is managing Kaduna dry port so Anambra state government went to court,Gej carried out maintenance works at pH and Warri ports.

Are you insinuating that the Portuguese and British that sited Lagos as the main shipping port into what is now known as Nigeria were un-neutral. Maybe the Azikiwe-Tafa Belewa government of 1960 were un-neutral as they did not move the main sea port from Lagos.
Lagos has numerous advantages for seaport over all other ports in Nigeria. It's faces the Atlantic directly. It requires little or no dredging to keep it navigable. It is the nearest Nigerian port to Europe and the Americas (where until recently were our biggest trading partners).
I am not saying we should not expand and upgrade other ports including the Onitsha port, but knowing how lazy and corrupt our government officials are, they just can't be bothered to do the wahala.

within yourself, you should know that lack of political will/deliberate actions is what is holding back other ports in Nigeria (including other ports in the southwest and the northern Baro Port in Niger state) Lagos residents are suffocating under the over concentration of port activities in the state,the only people benefitting from the revenue are the political class,a president from Ogun, Delta,Edo,Always Ibom, Rivers etc would make it a priority to make ports in his home state or region operational. The colonial masters had ports in every part of Nigeria, there's nothing special about Lagos ports.

Land is so costly in Anambra state now that government officials would steal community land in any guise, during Obiano era,Umueri people were protesting against how he used the guise of building an airport to steal and allocate Umueri land to himself and his cronies then.

“The Court has mandated that Police release Akpi with immediate effect” - Speed Darlington’s lawyer reveals

Legal counsel to embattled singer Speed Darlington, Stan Alieke, says the Federal High Court Abuja has mandated the police to release Speed Darlington.



He disclosed this on his Instastories this morning, adding that he hopes the police obeys the court order this time.

The Court had in December, ordered the conditional release of the singer but the police failed to carry out the court order.

That's your personal preference and it's ok, personally,I have concluded that most visitors toilet are underutilized and therefore a waste of money and useful space,I add it as a standard luxury feature for owner occupied homes but don't consider it a necessity for budget rental homes.

you tried very well, the visitors toilet is not absolutely necessary because the flats all have a toilet accessible from the living room, you can also add a metre wide visitors toilet from the front verandas, the only problem I see there is that you don't know that the sizes of rooms and spaces are influenced by the intended functions, thus a dining room for six people have a certain dimension from a dining for eight,ten, twelve, fourteen etc. This is a common problem among Nigerian architects even with those that have masters degree in the field, your dining room dimensions doesn't make sense for the intended use, prove me wrong if you think otherwise.

We believe Itsekiri is a high quality Yoruba tribe; Same way we have Ondo, Oyo, Egba e.t.c but trying to force the name Lukumi on Yoruba is something else.

when Abacha was in charge, it was interesting to find Nigeria had good economic indices on paper, but her citizens invented the infamous abacha stove to eat.

Our current economic model (world over) does not favour having beautiful annual/quarterly numbers and living a decent life. To pump out those sweet-looking figures, some hard choices have to be made... let me not digress because Nigeria is a very different economy.

In Nigeria, it does not matter if the numbers look good or bad, our government still finds a way to make living here undesirable.
