I mean, who celebrates a criminal?this is a draconian ruler that demoted somebody from the position of a head teacher to something else, because she asked for many months of pay owed them.
Abian's should be asking this man what he has been doing with all the states money all this while. As at today,Abia is the least developed state in the East.
Once upon a time Ebonyi use to be the laughing stock of the East. Today it has overtaken Abia in infrastructural and other well meaning developments.
Shame Abian's are celebrating this crook, instead of weeping that like Rivers State, the Supreme Court has just handed thier destiny to a criminal.
This is all crap. You know nothing about this man.
Ibime: Yes, go and watch 90 minutes match not media hyperbole about the Makelele role.
Makeleles signature move was the Kanu drag, the same one Kanu used to flummox Brazil in Atlanta 96. Makelele did the Kanu drag about 20 times per game.
Technically, Makelele was perfect. He can do the half-turn or the Kanu drag to get away from his opponent, then he passes the ball. What business does DM have doing dribbles in congested area? Have you ever seen Xavi dribbling in that area apart from the half-turn?
If you want to see dribbles, go and type in Makelele Nantes in YouTube, you will see dribbles. That was when Makelele was an AM. Makelele has more career assists than Redondo by the way.
Trust me, there is no way Ferguson will ask Rooney to manmark a defensive midfielder who is just there to tackle. In Ferguson's words, if you stop Makelele playing, you stop Chelsea.
He could have done all these at Nantes and I might be wrong with my claim that he was limited.
My assessment of him was post-2003 when he joined us.
Ibime: You were aged 11 to 16 when Maka was at Chelsea. Your eye never mature. I insist there is no manager in football that will pick Redondo over Makelele for his DM. What Redondo does best, Maka is also good at it. But when it comes to defending, they are as different as Barcelona and TP Mazembe.
Hehe. Yeah yeah, I was born between that age cat when Maka first signed for us but growing up I was able to lay my hands on video clips that helped me with the assessment of the two men.
I don't need to be born in the 60s to authoritatively tell you that Maradona's style of play was mainly centered on dribbling
Ibime: Maka is not what you think he is. Maka was a deep lying playmaker, that just knew how to defend. I was at Emirates Cup in 2009 or so, PSG Vs Valencia if I remember right, when Maka came on in 2nd half. Oh what passing and control he brought to the game, the game changed immediately.
There is a reason Sir Alex and other top managers used to get their no10 to manmark Makelele, and that's because he was an extraordinary playmaker. That was Rooneys job anytime we played Manure. Redondo no senior am for anything. Stop this nonsense.
I didn't see most of these 'deep lying playmaking' from Maka at Chelsea. All I saw was a man who knew exactly how to screen the backline. All I saw was a ' “ferocious midfield terrier'.
I have always been of the opinion that his skillsets were limited. He never had the best of visions, was never fast and hardly scored goals.
I love the man for real, he is a legend but then again, Redondo struck that balance for me, albeit he wasn't as ferocious as Maka.
Ibime: Redondo being greatest RM midfielder of 30 years is news to me.
That midfield was not that dominant nor consistent. They had 2 European wins but were not steamrollering teams consistently. Redondo while technically classy also struggled physically in many matches.
A bit of misty eyed revisionism if you ask me as well as Manure fans overtripping over his performance against them. Let's just say Makelele was an improvement on Redondo in DM position in 2000.
The only point I will concede is that Madrid have hardly had a long-term midfielder in the last 30 years that stayed for 5 years in the first team. So chic2pimp could be right if Guti is the main competitor or Zidane who was washed from 2003 to 2006.
If the debate is the primary task of a DM, then Maka is an improvement on Redondo.
As for over-all play and skill-set, Redondo na Makalele big brother.
Our trip to West Brom on Friday sparks memory of Reebok Stadium 2005. Playing away from home and needing a victory to become champions, until Lampard turned up. It was a win that saw Jose win his first premier League title in his first season in England, a scenario that could still play out on Friday with Conte.
So I am thinking, who's going to be our Lampard on Friday night? Who is going to score that decisive goal that would land us our 6th league title?
Hazard? Costa? Pedro?
I can't tell really, what I can tell at the moment is that the print guys at Chelsea FC have got the line 'Premier League Champions 2016/17' inscripted on 30 t-shirts.
Thats what most of us remember him for. I dont think he played more than 20 matches for us. You must remember del horno too.
Guy I dey tell you. I dey suspect say Boulahrouz had some steroids shots and few tramadol pills before stepping into the pitch that day. After the highness clear that night, Dinho reminded him how much he missed home in the return fixture.
Del Horno? Just a season and he was gone. The Lionel Messi's incident is the only memorable thing i remember about him, oh and his goal against spurs that year.
But you don't blame these lot for their lack of longevity at Chelsea. They were unfortunate enough to be here when we had a manager who identified his 'untouchables'.
If you weren't part of the 'untouchables', then you can leave after two games. No one gives a flying fucck
1. Antonio Conte will be offered a lucrative £10million a year new contract keeping him in west London until 2022.
2. The Italian will be allowed to choose his own replacement for the departing Steve Holland. There are inferences that Andrea Pirlo could end up being the man he might bring in.
3. The board would provide the funds to land Conte's top targets who have been identified as; Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku and Virgil Van Dijk.
...............................
If these goes down as reportedly planned, I certainly see us doing a major double next season.
But unfortunately I completely disagree. Barca fans will tell you that the club policy has moved emphatically away from the la masia model. Who was the last La Masia graduate to break directly through to the first team?
Spurs have always had an academy that churned out players for sale - Livermore, Caulker, Ryan Mason, Tom Carroll and so on. Harry Winks, Josh Onomah etc don't really have a future at the club and will be sold - that's a betting statement.
Right now academies all over England are poaching up players that they know will never play for them. The only club in EPL that is really producing homegrown talent is Southampton. Almost every other club is engaging in this ugly practice...but because there's so much money in the game, the players and their parents go along with the ruse.
nateevs: I am not sure I totally agree with this. Despite having a flurry of youngsters, Chelsea as a big club needs to continue to lure the best talent in the world.
Don't forget that there are two case scenarios being worked on here.
1. The often rare but feasible possibility of landing a serious gem. This is the best case scenario. 2. The case of long-term financial stability of the club - this is the worst case scenario for the player.
Case in Point, Patrick Bamford who was bought for £1.5m on low wages, had his wages paid by loan clubs throughout his "Chelsea Career" and got sold for £5.5m.
In the scheme of things long-term, it's often a win-win or the club.
And what turns out to be the fate of that player who was once deemed for greatness?
Nihilist: It's just the way of football mehn. It annoys me too but there's a different angle to it as well.
From our side, when we splash that kind of cash on a youth prospect we are hoping his comes good for us, but most importantly we are keeping him out of the hands of our rivals.
Now even if he flops, 500k is an inconsequential sum. I'm sure Roman has lost more than that amount in cash behind his sofa.
From the boy's side, he's hoping he comes good at Chelsea but quite often Chelsea isn't the target bro. The target is just a career in football at any level. Chelsea(and the money) at this stage is likely to be just a bonus when the boy and his parents might know that his true level is Nottingham Forest.
This is not actually the way of football, it's the way of super rich football clubs who pay little or no attention to their own academies, it is the way of Chelsea.
Ajax won't bother about 15 year old Gilmour because they have an academy that has and can still produce much better prospects.
Barca's trust in La Masia makes it nearly difficult for you to see them chase a prodigy. Last week they announced the opening of an academy in Chicago, following the previous launch of schools in Austin, Texas, Florida etc. By the start of next season there will be 36 academies spread across five continents, including four in Canada, there are currently 27 in operation.
Spurs are even beginning to mind their business lately. Harry Kane, Tom Carroll, Josh Onomah and Harry Winks have all come up through the ranks while Danny Rose joined the Spurs academy from Leeds in 2006.
So I tell you, snapping up 15 year old Gilmour is the way of Chelsea, and it's an ugly trend.
For all Billy's talent, does he deserve to end up at Nottingham Forest or Vitesse?
We have 38 players out on loan across various divisions, with none of the three academy players who are in the first team a regular. What is the essence?
