Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose says he has noting personal against Gen, Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, still… Fayose, involved in a series of scandalous claims directed at the former military Head of State, insisted he did not wish him any harm. Speaking February 26 through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Idowu Adelusi, in Ado-Ekiti, the governor responded to the criticism over his controversial statements. According to Vanguard, the politician explained that his aim was to expose the hypocrisy of some APC leaders interested only in personal success. “I am not wishing General Buhari dead, but the fact remains that he is too old to govern a complex country like Nigeria and we don’t want a president that will govern by proxy.” He reinstated his belief that Buhari’s trip to London was in reality over health issues and said that his speech in Chatham House was only a cover- up. Moreover, the governor insisted that Chatham House lecture was a face-saving device to cover the true position of Buhari. He also narrated how his committee did not recommend late Umaru Musa Yar’Adua to Olusegun Obasanjo. “I remember then as the ad hoc chairman of the PDP [Peoples Democratic Party] committee to shop for the presidential candidate to replace former President Olusegun Obasanjo, a crop of suitable, brilliant, healthy and competent northern politicians in the PDP were shortlisted by me for Obasanjo to pick from, but he overruled the list and asked me to contact the late Umaru Musa Yar’ Adua because he preferred him. “In fairness to the late president, he objected to the offer on health ground, but Obasanjo insisted that he must be the president. “I am not against the North, rather if Obasanjo had picked from the list of names submitted by my committee to him, certainly, a northerner, replacing Obasanjo would have ruled this country till 2015. As an insider who saw everything and who again have noticed the repeat of the episode of 2006, I must talk. “There is nothing bad in allowing President Jonathan from the South to complete the two terms he is allowed constitutionally and in 2019, a real candidate from the North, not one manipulated by the South-West APC, will emerge to take over. These APC leaders operate in deceit, the well being of this country is secondary to them. The is the party that ruled Ekiti for just only four years and grounded the state with huge debts. “That 2006 scenario is again being re-enacted with Obasanjo and APC leaders branding General Buhari to be the president of this country.” |
As the election 2015 draws closer, so many revelations have been reported with the most recent having to do with the former Governor of Lagos state, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Apparently! Presidential Campaign Organisation of the Peoples Democratic Party has alleged that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, is plotting to become the President of Nigeria through what it called the back door. It said the plot by the former governor, was to take over as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the event that the APC candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari(retd.), wins the March 28, presidential election. Director of Media and Publicity of the PDPPCO, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, made this allegation at a press conference in Abuja on Friday, February 27. He nevertheless said the campaign team of the PDPPCO wished Buhari a long life. According to Fani-Kayode, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, was picked by Tinubu and “forced to take an oath” to resign his appointment six months into the new cabinet, should the APC win the elections. After his resignation, the PDPPCO further alleged that the party would field Tinubu as his replacement and to wait for the health condition of Buhari to worsen to Tinubu’s advantage. He asked Buhari to “watch his back,” adding that the “gang-up” against him and Nigerians was situated on the calculation that his health would deteriorate and lead to his death, paving the way for the expected “new vice president” to take over power. Fani-Kayode said, “It should baffle well-meaning Nigerians why Tinubu has decided to draft Buhari, despite his age, acrimonious background and questionable health status, into the presidential race whilst ensuring that his stooge, Prof Osinbajo, was foisted on the general as vice presidential candidate. “The reason is that the PDPPCO wishes to use this forum to expose the ungodly plan by Tinubu to seize the presidency of Nigeria by subterfuge. “You will recall how Tinubu wanted to be running mate to Buhari in spite of the nationwide resentment for Muslim-Muslim ticket that he and Buhari planned to foist on their party men and women. “Senator Tinubu had justified the (planned) ticket by saying that competence was the important thing and not the issue of religion. “But when he and Buhari could not push through the agenda within the APC, he (Tinubu), after been given the opportunity to nominate a vice presidential candidate, decided to prop up his stooge in the person of Prof Osinbajo. “Now, the real reason Tinubu nominated Osinbajo has been made known to us and we hereby offer a public service to the Nigerian people by drawing national attention to it. Credible pieces of information at our disposal indicate that Tinubu has perfected plans to come to power through the back door. “Tinubu, according to our information, has compelled Osinbajo to swear to an oath that after six months in office, he would resign as the vice president, in the unlikely event that their party wins. The wicked plot, as laid out by them, is to force Osinbajo to resign for Tinubu to be nominated by Buhari as his replacement.” Fani-Kayode added, “The ultimate objective of this plot is to ensure that Tinubu becomes President. The script is simple: given the questionable health of Buhari, Tinubu, who is desperate to be president for his own selfish reasons, will simply bid his time in the evil expectation that Buhari will not be able to go the whole hog. “How wicked can those that hatched this plan be? How unfair can they be to the North, to Buhari and to Nigerians? We wish Buhari long life. Senator Tinubu’s dangerous plan is about getting power. This is sad. No thoroughbred Yoruba man or indeed Nigerian wants to get power through the misfortune of another person. “But this is the perfidious path that Tinubu is passing through. This is repugnant.” CULLED FROM NAIJ.COM |
MARRIAGE IS NOT AS EASY AS MANY THINK. IT REQUIRES A LOT OF HARD WORK AND COMMITMENT TO MAKE IT WORK. The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has established a link between mathematics and marriage. Adeboye, a mathematician turned pastor, gave couples a few tips to spice up their marriage. At the first annual lecture of the Pastor E.A. Adeboye Professorial Chair for mathematics, held on Thursday evening at the Main Auditorium of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), the cleric, who has been married for 47-years, told the audience about four simultaneous linear equations for successful marital life. According to the man of God, his understanding of the mathematics of marriage is what has kept his marriage strong. Not only did Adeboye give equations, he supported each equation with relevant biblical verses “I told my children that why I have remained married for 47 years is because I understand the mathematics of marriage. Mathematics is a science of living,” he said. Equation 1: This states that love is blind. It was supported with a biblical passage from Proverbs 10:12, which states that love covers a multitude of sins. Equation 2: This states that “marriage is a miracle worker with special anointing for curing blindness.” This can be found in Genesis 29:16-25 which gives the account of how Jacob was so in love that he did not know it was Leah that was given to him in marriage, rather than Rachel, until the next day. When simultaneously calculated, he said the result shows that during courtship, love does not make shortcomings obvious until after marriage, when all doubts about character are cleared. Equation 3: This one states that “angels don’t eat jollof rice.” Adeboye made reference to Judges 6:11-21 where the sacrifice Gideon offered to the angel was consumed by fire. He explained that women eat jollof rice so they are not angels and are not perfect, just like men. Equation 4: states that angels don’t marry. This was supported by Matthew 22:30. He therefore advised couples to have reasonable expectations of their spouses and not expect them to be like angels. Enoch Adeboye obtained a Bachelors degree in Mathematics from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Nigeria in 1967, a Masters degree in Hydrodynamics and a Doctorate degree in Applied Mathematics, both from the University of Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria in 1969 and 1975 respectively. He worked as a lecturer in mathematics at the universities of Lagos and Ilorin. CULLED FROM NAIJ.COM
