A Jos Upper Area Court on Thursday dissolved the marriage between 27-year-old Rukayat Ahmed, an NYSC member, and Alkasim Ahmed, following a petition filed by the former.

Rukayat, a resident of Jos, had approached the court seeking the dissolution of the marriage on the grounds that she was no more in love with Alkasim.

The woman, who filed a direct complaint to the court, argued that such separation was permissible in Islamic law,

“if the partners are no more in love and therefore unwilling to live together”.
When the case was mentioned on May 25, the husband did not object to Rukayat’s demand.

At the resumption of hearing on the matter on Thursday, the Judge, Yahaya Ahmed, endorsed the separation of the couple and ordered the petitioner to refund the N80,000 paid as dowry by her husband, as applicable in Islamic law.

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has said South East Governors are scared of Biafra gaining independence, PUNCH reports.

Kanu says the actualisation of the Republic of Biafra is possible but the South-East governors were afraid of losing their positions and political relevance in the area if it actually happens.

A former porn star has claimed she is pregnant for Canadian rapper, Aubrey Graham, popularly known as Drake.

The latest claim comes weeks after a former stripper, Layla Lace called the rapper out with chat evidence to prove that he stopped talking to her after she revealed to him that she is pregnant with his baby.

Although the rapper denied paternity of Layla Lace’s pregnancy, the former porn star, Sophie Brussaux who has been seen a couple of times hanging out with the rapper claimed he is the father of her unborn child.

The former porn star claims she is 3 and a half months into pregnancy and already knows the baby’s sex adding that she took in for the rapper aroiund January 20 or 21 after they were spotted together in Amsterdam on January 24th at a Japanese restaurant.



The former porn star, Brussaux has since hired a reputable lawyer in New York, Raoul Felder, to help her file papers to get the paternity/child support.

TMZ reported: “The woman, a retired porn star, has what she says are text messages between her and Drake, which purport to say the following:

Drake: I want you to have an abortion.

Brussaux: I can’t kill my baby simply to indulge you sorry.

Drake: Indulge me? F*** you.

Brussaux: What?

Drake: You do know what you’re doing you think you’re going to get money.



According to Drake’s spokesman:

“She has admitted to having multiple relationships. We understand she may have problems getting into the United States. She’s one of many women claiming he got them pregnant.

“If it is in fact Drake’s child, which he does not believe, he would do the right thing by the child.”

The spokesman accused Brussaux of having sexual relations with another A-list rapper around the same time and was in fact pregnant with his baby.

Two women have now accused him of getting them pregnant this year.

Fresh details have emerged as to what might have led to the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, snubbing the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, at a public function recently, THISDAY reports.

According to a source, who is a close friend and business associate of the Ooni, disclosed that the incident involving the two traditional rulers may not be unconnected to past business encounter between the two of them.

The sources said that there was an unpleasant engagement between the Ooni and Oba Akiolu, before he became the Ife monarch.

As a businessman and property developer, the source said, Ooni had bought a large expanse of land on the Island for a certain project, a deal said to have been sealed and delivered with those concerned, including all the financial commitments resolved.

Oba Akiolu was said to have gotten wind of the deal later and allegedly stopped the development even when Ooni had invested hugely in it. But as one with royal upbringing, Ooni was said to have sought audience with the Lagos Oba and pleaded with him, reeling out details of how far he had come with the project.

But the Oba of Lagos, the source further said, declined all entreaties and insisted that for any development to continue on the property, Ooni must pay royalty, which was said to be running into several millions of naira.

“It was a lot of money, that even the Ooni was shocked Oba Akiolu could demand of him,” sources alleged.

Unfortunately, for the Ooni, it was said to be a large sum at that time for him because he had put in so much into the very development and found it difficult to raise the money.

He therefore sought Oba Akiolu’s understanding and pleaded for a reduction, which Akiolu allegedly declined to grant, insisting he either pays the sum or forgets about the development.

Thus, the Ooni, the source said, quickly rallied some of his dependable friends for assistance before he came up with the money. But as fate would have it, a few months after this encounter, Ogunwusi became the Ooni of Ife.

“That is the truth of this bitterness, at least, what we can link this to. The Oba of Lagos hasn’t completely gotten over the emergence of ‘Yeye and against the backdrop of how he treated him…

“We were always at the palace in Idugaran nearly every day, prostrating for Akiolu with ‘Yeye, just for him to relax his stand a bit, but he was adamant as if his sole aim was to jeopardise the project. ‘Yeye was at the palace for many days, only going to beg and plead with the Oba to reduce what he was asking for and not to dissuade him from asking for what was due to him. But all fell on deaf ears.

“’Yeye was forced to raise that money because a lot was at stake. But even if ‘Yeye had not become Ooni, he still has his respect for age and the throne as a child born into royalty, who was also raised with strict adherence to tradition. I mean, apart from that, ‘Yeye has never had any untoward interaction with Oba Akiolu that would warrant snubbing him in public the way he did

Ex-housemate in the recently concluded Big Brother Naija reality TV show, Bisola, has slammed Nigerians criticizing the show calling most of them hypocrites.

English Premier League side, Manchester City, have made it crystal clear to Spanish giant, Barcelona, that they are ready to pay a record £100million fee to bring super star Lionel Messi to the Etihad Stadium, report says.

City currently sit ten points behind leaders Chelsea, and are outside the Premier League’s top four, with Manager Pep Guardiola recently declaring the Club is out of the title chase.
