Glo Comonth package also makes some sense but the network is not reliable. I have never exhausted the package in any given month.

WiFi beats all the GSM networks in terms of speed and reliability.

Your are right on Wifi being the best but outside lagos, Wifi is virtually nonexistent in Nigeria.

I think Etisalat remains the best in data reliability. i subscribed 2k for 2gb after exhausting my data, my data counter showed 1.97gb.

i totally loved the phone,the tile pinning,browser and the fact that i could type documents with it. My enjoyment was short lived though,the phone is currently STUCK in flight mode. I was unable to switch off flight mode so my dad took it back for repairs or replacement. When i get it back i'd do a better review

always state the model of your phone.
For your inability to download,check your ntwork settings.
If you can browse and you cant download, check your network signal strenght.
finaly, make sure your phone is duly updated to latest version. you can do this by connecting your phone to computer.

Well from the users reviews, i think it is a general problem. Use ucbrowser for your download until Opera fix the bug.

1. Charge your phone
Charge your phone for at least 20 minutes.
2. Restart your phone.
Press and hold the Power and Volume Down keys simultaneously for 10-15 seconds. Release and the phone will restart. After this operation, you may need to set the date and time on the phone.
If the problem persists, reset and restore your phone as instructed below.
3. Reset and restore your phone.
Important:
This erases all personal content on your phone and restores the factory settings.
Before continue with the reset, make sure your phone’s battery level is above 50%. To check the remaining battery life, go to Settings > battery saver. If you are not able to check it, or the level is too low, charge your phone for at least 20 minutes.
Reset your phone by using the built-in option in the phone settings. Select Settings > About > Reset your phone.
However, if you cannot access the phone settings, follow the steps below:
a. Disconnect the charger. Press and hold the
Power and Volume Down keys simultaneously. Release the pressed keys when phone vibrates and then immediately press and hold the volume down button until the phone displays an exclamation mark ( !) on the screen. Release the volume down key.
b. Then press the volume and power keys in the following order: volume up, volume down, power, and volume down.
c. Wait for your phone to reset, during the reset you will see gears rotating on the screen for up to 5 minutes, after which the screen goes blank for ~30 seconds and then your phone will restart.
d. Go through the initial phone setup. Make sure that you have the date and time set correctly on your phone ( Settings > date+time).

sorry to ask again. did you buy the phone new? or from someone else? if it is new, I will advice you do a hard reset, if the problem persists return it to where you bought it.
if you got it from someone else, look for the original battery at any reputable phone seller.

How long does it last when on saver mode and otherwise?
Does it get hot when you are browsing or charging?
How long have you been using the phone?
When did you start to notice the battery draining, and the heating issue?

What a foolish, brainless and irrational write- up. First it was Ekwunife should step down for Ngige, now it is Ekweremmadu should step down for imaginary APC Igbo SGF. Is this party and its tabloid journalism not tired of propaganda?

This 540 cannot be locked to 3g only. I still don't know what Microsoft were thinking when they made that foolish decision.

The phone is okay but the battery is not that strong especially when you are surfing the net.
Also there is this issue of not being able to switch to 3g only, this part is so frustrating but aside the two, I think it's okay.
