The 230 million nigerias are mostly in rural areas and don't have business with fuel directly. So nigeria does not consume the fuel claimed. And Nigeria can provide the crude oil allocated for domestic use because the government is stealing the crude too

imagine you bought 1k stuff in 2016, that same stuff is already 6.4k in 2026. government increased the minimum wage almost 4 times but the cost of those goods increased more than 6 times, that is why most people can not afford most things in 2026

let's be truthful, 2016 wasn't necessarily a good year economically, inflation was already high, the economy was in recession, and Nigeria had plenty of problems

10k was around 53% of the average monthly salary at the time and the minimum wage was 18k while the average monthly salary was around 18.9k

so 10k was not a small amount of money in 2016...Today, 10k is just 14.3% of the 70k minimum wage but the key difference is that 18k in 2016 could buy substantially more than 70k can buy today

the real issue right now is that prices have risen much faster than wages, we need to review salaries so that they can match the increases in price

3.)Naira - Dollar exchange rate: The Naira was at some point stronger than the dollar (N0.90 - N17.30)
4.) Fuel Prices was also very, very cheap (N0.80k- N5 per litre)

He made some bad decisions that affected Nigeria till date. But he also made very good decisions and built facilities some of which Nigeria still enjoys till date.
