PoliticsRe: When I See Nigerians Mourning Buhari I Am Disappointed by Guestlander: 11:03pm On Jul 13, 2025
PaNnamdi:
What is there to mourn about him,a man that opened up our borders and all sorts of mad people in name of bandits invaded Nigeria and gained upper hand in killing natives?paid deaf attention to cries of innocent Nigerians and even went as far as ordering a vigilantes to disarm meanwhile bandits run wild?

I see nothing good in this kind of man,let him now go and explain to God his deeds.
What arrant nonsense. So, Nigerians owe you an explanation on how and who to mourn?

Lol dem don credit Joe Igbokwe bank account.

Funny enough many politicians that Obidients are banking on to help them defeat Tinubu in 2027 just need a single credit alert to change mouth again. 😆
Joe Igbokwe was never aligned with the Obidients. He has been consistent in his support for Tinubu. Far more reliable than the likes of Aregbesola.

We have more than enough criminals in Nigeria already. This is similar to the west dumping toxic waste in developing countries.

Ghanaians are just envious of the strides our brothers are making globally. They should nevertheless thread carefully lest our brothers desert their country, leaving behind a desolate landscape, because we know for sure our brothers are responsible for 90 percent of the development happening in Ghana.

Don't say you were not warned.
They are not envious of anything. They didn't invite you and I think they would rather not have you there.

PoliticsRe: Tell Nigerians If You Will Bring Back Subsidy - Governor Radda To Coalition by Guestlander: 9:31am On Jul 09, 2025
DeLaRue:
Absolute nonesense.

You did not tell us which country you live in where 'government subsidise nearly everything but no problem to the country.'

Mention the country na. Even Saudi Arabia has stopped 'subsidising everything'.

You think you are the only one that has lived abroad.

You are either trying to deceive people or you don't understand how the country you live in work.

I lived in the UK, my income (salary) tax plus Council tax was over 40% of my salary every month.

So, if I went to a hospital that was free in the UK, it meant the government was subsidising the hospital?. Absolutely not. It simply meant I had paid for the 'free' hospital through the very high tax I was paying.

You say people pay taxes in Nigeria, hence the government should provide subsidised services. Which tax really.

My tax in Nigeria is ...erm, less than 2% of my income (tax people please no come harass me o - you people don't demand for tax ). Yet, you want the government to wave a magic wand and provide Nigerian citizens with a fabulous subsidised lifestyle.

Some of the richest countries in the world have some of the highest personal income taxes too.

Personal income tax in Japan, Finland, Austria etc are around 50%. In Sweden, it is 52%. In Ivory Coast, the most organised country in West Africa, personal income tax is over 60%, the highest in the world. So you can see there is some correlation between high government tax revenue and development. Will Nigerians agree to pay 40% of their total monthly income in tax?

And remember many of those developed countries have been collecting taxes from their citizens for over 200 years which they have used to build their country.

Yet, in 2025, the vast majority of Nigerians still pay zero tax, yet you want to compare Nigeria to those countries.

As for electricity, I get up to 22 hours a day consistently, and I am not even in Zone A, or whatever they call it. While it is safe to say my experience is not replicated across the country, there clearly appears to be manifest improvement in many areas, and I hope with time, every part of the country will share in that experience.
If only 30% of Nigerians think the way you do the country will change within a decade.
A lot of people literally want the government to feed them and many of them pay zero taxes.
They have this illusion that Nigeria is rich because we have oil, that is pure nonsense.

ARE YOU A DUNCE?

What important discussion is ever held between two leaders facing each other and smiling as cameras are snapping pictures?

You really think that is how country-level bilateral discussions are held?

You claim to have been to school yet you reason like a fcking donkey.
Typical shallow thinking African. The only important thing to them is the current price of garri. Ask the Indians what was said during the meeting and they will provide it for you word for word but Africans like someone said will provide you with fairytale.
When will you ever learn?
This is about keeping records, everything is always muddled up in Africa. You can never get to the bottom of anything, this is why corruption persist.

The black man and inferiority complex that leads him to seek validation and leadership from others. So "our man" must take note of a conversation between two leaders of sovereign nation to prove a point to you? If you had any sense, and are secure in your own skin, you'd know we don't have to do things how others do it.

Una do disco plus r and b for decade since the 80ties yet no recognition. It is Afrobeat, and singing in Yoruba, Igbo plus pidgin etal, that has now established Nigeria a global music giant with our artist selling out world-famous arenas like 02. Davido, Wizkid, Burna are far bigger giants than ruggedman, Chris Okotie, Felix liberty, Psquare etal

Nigga, learn to do your thing and the world will appreciate that about you instead of thinking you must follow others blindly.
Bull crap, ten years from now the Indians will be able to tell you exactly what was said in that meeting. Keeping records especially at this level is important, very important and we should do more of it.

After reading this, tears gathered in my eyes but I didn't let it drop.

One aspect of the story that wasn't clear was why he kept sending millions to these people.

Moral lesson learnt:
1) Don't keep secrets from your family. They're your direct representative and the ones to continue your legacy.

2) Don't dabble into any form of ritual

3) Don't be a pushover. Be firm and keep your circle of friends in check.

4) Any business/contract you engage in, have witnesses.

5) Don't lie about sensitive issues like travel, businesses engagement etc.
Greed, he was promised untold riches. The story is always the same, we are doing this business and we ran out of money but if you can lend us some money you get a percentage running into millions. Whatever you lend them will go the same way and they will keep coming back for more until you are left high and dry or in this case killed.
Guys, please use you brain and stay safe.
FashionRe: Marianela Ancheta: Miss Universe Cuba 2024 Wore Oshun Costume by Guestlander: 4:49am On Nov 19, 2024
Magnoliaa:
What "we" don't value?

Are you a traditional worshipper yourself? Because that is the only thing that will make your criticism valid. You cannot accuse others of not cherishing their traditional practices when/if you're not a 'practicer' yourself. Lead by example. When you give birth to a child, you should go and do its dedication at a local river, not in a church, and with herbs and spices. Do you have an Ifa-inspired name for yourself? Have you ever attended the Osun-Oshogbo festival? It's literally one of our biggest cultural export. Do you know the oriki of Ogun? The "Odu" of Ifa nko?

The people who are praticing and cherishing the religion are there. If you seek them out, you will find them. Lagos State literally has a public holiday for Isese Day. I follow some Yoruba chanters on TikTok, just for the beauty of their poetic recitations but I don't get into the more ritualistic aspects of their faith.

I'm sure in the same Cuba, you will find people of other faiths there, just as it is all over the world. That is why diversity is beautiful and literally exists- not everyone will be Christians, and not everyone will be traditional/secular/agnostic. And, sometimes, it has nothing to do with not valuing "one's religion."

Point is, if you were a true follower or at least, a curious student of African Traditional Religions*, you will know that they have a thriving, niche community and no one has stolen anything from them.
Very well said, God bless you.
