A young upwardly mobile and hardworking man who has been working for a popular photocopy manufacturing company based in Fatai Atere street, Lagos was finally given a car (repayment through deduction over 4years). This did not come on a platter of gold as he has been denied severally of the opportunity, but for RIGOROUS FASTING AND PRAYING with tremendous support from the wife! On the very day the car was released to him (a Thursday), he was seen to have given a lift to a very pretty woman at oshodi enroute home at about 4:25pm. This young man got home at about 7:30pm to show the car to the wife. He left the car key with the wife to examine and admire while he goes into the house to freshen up. He ran out of shower upon alarming shouts from neighbours of "fire, fire, fire",! Alas, his new car had been set ablaze by the wife! When asked why, she said that her husband was spotted at Oshodi at 4:25pm giving a lift to an unknown woman in a brand new car which she is yet to put her butt on its seat. And the person who saw them had since returned over an hour ago despite taking a public transport! Her submission is that since that is what the husband needs the car for (instrument of fornication and adultery), they are better off without it! She therefore bought 4litres of petrol ahead the arrival of her adulterous husband to set the car ablaze! End of story! In his response, the husband thanked everyone present, took note of them and promised to invite them when the issue is ripe for discussion! Most of the neighbours left with mixed reactions! Some condemning the woman's actions and others saying he deserved what he got! On Saturday, the wife's elder sister who lives around Kola bus stop came visiting with the husband, and was surprised to see the burnt remains of Brand New Toyota Highlander Jeep! Upon enquiries, the husband sent for some of the neighbours as promised and when all were seated, he asked the wife to tell her story! After ranting and calling her husband different indecent names, she gladly repeated it as said on that day! Instead of saying anything, the husband asked the sister-in-law to comment! The woman explained that on that very Thursday at the said time at oshodi, she was walking on to see if she can get a cheaper bus when suddenly a brand new car parked by her and the driver was her sister's husband. He gave her a ride and he insisted on dropping her off at home where he eventually stayed for almost an hour to see if her husband will return to meet him. But since the husband did not return on time, she promised him of their return visit that Saturday since it coincided with the wife's birthday! Now that the car is already burnt on the assumption that the husband is adulterous. HOW DO YOU ADVISE WE SETTLE THIS ISSUE? |

Sources, however, told our correspondent that the girl was immediately rushed to Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, Effurun, near Warri for spiritual cleansing. Attempt by policemen near the cemetery to take the girl to the station was rebuffed by sympathisers who insisted that the matter did not concern the police. They said it was a spiritual issue.Me believe she should have been rushed to he hospital rather than to a spiritual home where they will lay claim to the 'Miracle' ![]() |

If I had 5-minutes to address this issue with the Governor of Lagos (Ambode), I will advise that a model of what is currently obtaining on the Lekki-Epe expressway by LCC should be introduced. As there are no tolls within other areas of the metropolis, I suggest that regular tax-payment evidence should in providing the towing services free to a general garage (24hrs free parking and thereafter subjected to demurage). For non-tax payers, the fine should be stipulated and payment centralised. This will make it a win-win for the government, more revenues from tax and city dwellers will feel valued and with a stake...........My 2kobo ![]() |

The House of Representatives on Thursday ordered a probe of the $17bn worth of allegedly undeclared crude oil and liquefied natural gas exports to foreign countries. The decision followed the adoption of a motion sponsored by Mr. Agbonayinman Ehiozwa at the plenary session of the House presided over by the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara. While presenting the motion, the lawmaker alleged that the deal involved 20 companies, two government agencies, two law firms and a consultant appointed by the immediate past administration of President Goodluck Jonathan. Ehiozwa said the motion was predicated on the findings of Molecular Power System Nigeria Limited, which looked into the issue during the last administration. According to him, it was discovered that from 2011 to December 2014, there was an undeclared crude oil shortfall of 57,830,000 barrels, translating to well over $12bn shipped to the United States of America; over $3bn to China; and $839,522,600 to Norway. He said, “I am further aware that this job has been done in 51 countries where Nigerian crude oil has been exported; the report of the USA being the largest receiver of crude oil and that of other countries was made available to the former President, the office of the Attorney General of the Federation, the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. Ehiozwa stated, “As of today, the country has to its credit over $17bn of recoverable shortfalls from undeclared crude oil exports to global destinations. “I am dismayed that the fiscalisation policy of the Federal Government, which warrants loading of crude oil from Nigeria to be monitored by the DPR, the Navy, the Customs, the Nigerian Ports Authority and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, has been crippled over the years. “These agencies have lost the capacity to go to offshore locations to witness loading. The machines that monitor loading into the vessels were bought, owned, calibrated and operated by the International Oil Companies without monitoring.” He expressed disappointment that the data so far gathered indicated that for the LNG, there was a shortfall of 727,460 metric tonnes estimated at about $461.44m from shipments to seven countries. The motion was adopted by the House but a date has yet to be set for the probe. http://punchng.com/reps-investigate-17bn-undeclared-crude-oil-exports/

The United Nations Secretary-General, Ban Ki-Moon, has hailed President Muhammadu Buhari for his war against corruption and terrorism. He also told Buhari that leaders across the world respect him for giving Nigeria a positive image. Buhari’s Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, in a statement quoted Ban Ki-Moon as saying this during a bilateral meeting with the President on the sidelines of the 71st UN General Assembly in New York. The UN scribe said, “You are highly respected by world leaders, including myself. Your person has given your country a positive image.” He said the UN recognised the achievements of the Buhari administration against Boko Haram, urging that human rights be upheld always, to prevent a repeat of the scenario being witnessed in Syria. Ban Ki-moon also thanked the Nigerian leader for his commitment to issues on climate change, adding that the government should “own the Sustainable Development Goals,” for the good of its citizens. http://punchng.com/youre-respected-worldwide-ban-ki-moon-tells-buhari/ |
