2. Many of those who were in polygamous settings had wives who hustled for their own kids. Yes, I had a friend whose father had two wives, and several kids from both. Each of the wives literally had to hustle to feed and cater to their own kids, while the man had property that he collected rent from and was able to give them money from time to time. Life was not easy for women and children in those marriages even then.

Our neighbor back those days had no farm, and for a while no wife...his wife left him with the kids cause she was tired of suffering. The children literally survived on crumbs most of the time. It was terrible. And all of this was back in the 80s.

My Uncle was sleek about his. He sold all his assets in UK and relocated back to Nigeria. The wife couldn't go back to UK. The kids eventually schooled here but he kept a window open for the kids to study/relocate overseas.

He divorced the wife who ran through men like whisky in a bottle. The man runs a Nail production factory and doing very well.

According to him it took some years before the kids came to understand why he did what he did back then.

Despite the above there are good women out there too.

Sandhurst produced the most rugged and finest Nigerian commissioned officers before the advent of the Nigerian Military Training Centre which later metamorphosed to the NDA.

*THE PURE WORD*

When Jesus was tempted by Satan in the wilderness, He responded with Scripture. This wasn't random—Jesus understood that God's Word is the most powerful weapon against temptation. Memorizing Scripture gives you this same weapon available at any moment.

When sexual temptation strikes, you often don't have time to search for relevant Bible verses. But if Scripture is already hidden in your heart through memorization, it's immediately available to counter the lies that temptation always brings.

Memorized Scripture can remind you of God's standards when temptation tries to make sin seem acceptable. It can remind you of consequences when immediate pleasure seems overwhelming. It can remind you of your identity in Christ when shame tries to convince you that purity isn't possible.

Choose verses specifically related to sexual purity, your body as God's temple, the benefits of obedience, or God's power to help you resist temptation. Write them on cards, set them as phone reminders, or use apps designed for Scripture memorization.

The process of memorization itself is valuable because it requires you to meditate on God's truth, allowing it to sink deeply into your mind and heart. This meditation transforms your thinking patterns over time.

Don't be intimidated by the challenge of memorization. Start with just one verse and work on it until it's firmly established in your memory. Then add another. Over time, you'll build a powerful arsenal against sexual temptation.

While an improved economy will definitely help, it is certainly not enough. Even in developed countries where there are more employment opportunities for the citizens, this same issue persists.

What would help are three things:

1. Improved economy, like you have rightly pointed out

2. Change in public orientation towards marriage: today, we are overwhelmed by teachings, contents and discussions that encourage a negative attitude to the idea of marriage. It should stop being presented like it is a bad idea to seek and long to get married.

3. Polygamy should be brought to be on par with monogamy across the world and especially, in the church. This is because no matter how much of the others you solve, the number of men who women would lije to get married to will always be far less than the number of women who are old enough to get married. So, to allow women have their heart desire, which is to get married, the teachings and the attitude against polygamy must stop! It should stop because it is false, wrong and based on propaganda and not the truth of the matter.
