Good save by Ebenezer Harcourt of Rivers united from Alex Owoleyeifa shot

It's a very tight match, good football

Rivers united almost scored as the ball hit the bar

The match has kicked off

@Dominique ,this should be the match of the week with Rivers united unbeaten run at stake at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium slaughter ground.

Its match day as my darling club Bendel insurance fc takes on Rivers united in continuation of the Euromatch Nigeria professional football league.
Bendel Insurance have so far won all their home matches this season but lost all their away matches and they will be meeting Rivers united who are unbeaten both home and away.
The Rivers united side is coached by ex Nigeria international Finidi George and you should expect a crack team from Finidi as the team looks compact.
Bendel Insurance is coached by Kennedy Boboye who is also vastly experienced.
I will be there live to cheer Insurance to victory.

For those that are right thinkers

Freshtruth:
if 20 Billionaires come together and bring 5 billion each on ground buy each buy d 20clubs . 5 billions time 20 that is 100000 billionaira
Winner goes home with 30 billion naira second place 20 billions and 3rd place 15 billion in naira the rest billions should be share among d remaining clubs including d relegated clubs,. The billionaires can attract forigen players to our league

And the billions you are talking about are in naira which is less than a million dollars which a player in South African league is being paid..
You think that player will like to play in Nigeria.

Freshtruth:
Nigeria is not a football nation we just deceiving ourselves

We need to put structures in place if we want to be competitive with other countries.
Presently we are not ready as it is garbage in garbage out not only in football but all ramifications.

Freshtruth:
I think the big clubs in the caf champion league can afford it

They can't,most of the clubs are owned by state Government and are not really making profits.

[quote author=Freshtruth post=140994988]weda we like it or not we need foreign coaches in our league to improve the league. Having just local coaches in our league is dangerous to our football we need that extra knowledge. For almost 15 good years non of our team have reach the semi finals for good 11 years now to even eneyer the group stages is a problem [/quote
Having foreign coaches still boils down to foreign exchange.
A good foreign coach will want to be paid very well in foreign currency too.
How many of our local clubs can afford it.

Freshtruth:
we are not a football nation we are just deceiving ourselves trust me

The system is decaying daily and the people in charge are bereft of ideas on what to do.
We once won the under 17 world cup but now we can't even qualify for the under 17 world cup.

Everstrongherbs:
e be like dis one start Dey watch ball yesterday.
Wetin concern naira and naija league.
Must you people bring politics into everything ?

What is my business with politics, most of you people on nairaland were not born when I started watching local football matches.
I have watched Willson Oruma, Julius Aghahowa, Stephen Keshi,Henry Nwosu live at the stadium.
I speak with authority on the ills of the local league.

Freshtruth:
See MC algers world class stadium compare with the nonsense energy governor is building currently in Enugu.

Algerians behave like Europeans.
Hundreds of their fans travelled all the way from Algeria to Nigeria to watch the first leg against Rangers.
How many Nigerians can travel to Algeria like that,

TheStoriesOfMan:
Nigerian footballers are now running to Benin Republic and even Niger because the CFA FRANCS is stronger than the Naira.

This is shameful and embarrassing.

As for that guy, logical reasoning should inform him that a weak economy produces a weak currency.

Most people in Nigeria are barely surviving and are eager to Japa at the slightest opportunity.
Your salary currently can't even fuel your car and there are other expenses to be undertaken.
It is well

TheStoriesOfMan:
Fund the league and watch Nigerian club sides be at par with top European clubs.

Na just time.

It is absolute madness for Naira to exchange for 1,400 Naira.
Nigerian footballers are now running to Benin Republic and even Niger because the CFA FRANCS is stronger than the Naira.
Most Nigerian players receive just 300 dollars as salary in a month and you want to compete with teams from Algeria and South Africa that the players receive 30,000 dollars monthly.
Let's keep deceiving ourselves

ppogba:
Naira is the least of what killed our league.

Don't introduce stupid political illogical illogicality into this argument.

The best Doctors, Engineers, scientists have all fled Nigeria due to the weak Nigerian currency.
The best footballers don't stay long in Nigeria to play football as they earn peanuts compared to their counterparts abroad.

How can you play goaless in first half and lose 3 nil in second half.

Petrzoom:
Boss this rangers are not playing well. The match is like real madrid vs elche.

They are playing a European standard team worth millions of dollars.
Only one player in the Algerian team is worth more than the full Rangers squad.
Our naira has killed all sectors of Nigeria including football because our currency is weak globally.

Rangers crumbled

Petrzoom:
They didn't defend there well.

It's not easy to defend against the Arabs as they play like Europeans.
Their leagues are at par with European clubs and they do play friendly matches with European clubs and defeat them.
Rangers are even trying

Rangers are down by a lone goal, the pressure was too much

56 minutes of play and the match is still goaless

LordKushmann:
a hurum (furum) gi n'anya. I see you like in Avatar.

Okay lovely. Thanks

Rangers just got a first half draw.massive

Rangers are about getting a first half draw,45 minutes of play already, solid one from Rangers

Rangers have gotten a 30 minutes draw.
❤️ from the Antelopes

TheStoriesOfMan:
That is exactly what we need. Get them angry, then they commit some silly fouls and get carded.

Exactly, best way to frustrate them.

The Algerians will be frustrated if Rangers gets a first half draw or score first

Rangers just got a 20 minutes draw, good one

dominique:
Wow! Rangers that was close! Keep it up. They're playing like they're the ones that desperately need to score. These Algerians are hardly moving the ball into Rangers half.

Lovely one from Rangers. Nzogbu zogbu Rangers

Rangers just got a ten minutes draw, nice one in Algeria.
