You watched the great Henry Ogboe and Wilson Oruma, I am impressed with your longevity watching Insurance.

I remember the year ACB came and took almost half the team. Oliha, Austin, IK and Rowland. I went to Onikan stadium to watch ACB play somebody that season and I couldn't help show off my knowledge of the ex-Insurance players even though I am normally quiet when I go there as I used to sit near the Indian hemp smokers.

I was a kid then too when I was watching their matches, I even knew the late Henry Nwosu and Stephen Keshi when they were playing for NNB Bank as their club mate Jones was living close to our house then

Some players I watched in the local scene

The local league is a breeding ground for future stars in Nigeria and if properly managed we can have alot of players readily available to replace players that are aging in the national team .
Some of the players in Bendel insurance fc that I watched in the local scene who now emerged as future Super Eagles stars were Pius Ikhedia,Julius Aghahowa and Osaze Odemwingie
Plus Ikhedia and Julius Aghahowa played at the same time for Bendel insurance fc and Pius Ikhedia was clearly the star of Bendel insurance fc then as he single handedly carried the team on his shoulders with his dazzling runs.
Julius Aghahowa was mostly coming in as a substitute and you see fans shouting police, police as it seems he was a police man then or he was playing for a police team.
Osaze Odemwingies father was the team Doctor of Bendel insurance fc then and his son became a star for Bendel insurance scoring very vital goals.
They were all able to travel out and eventually making the national team.

All outstanding matches including the lagos derby between Sporting Lagos and Ikorodu City which was postponed because of campaign rally will be played on Wednesday 30th September. The league has come a long way in fixtures scheduling. I'm very impressed at the steady growth of the league

Ikorodu City v Rangers Int'l: Another strong match,but could tilt towards the away team. I won't be biased, but home advantage is a factor. I'll give it a draw too.

Kano Pillars v Enyimba: The home team will capitalize on Eyimba's misfortunes to bag a home victory. Home support will be maximal today. Expect riots if the Elephants do the unthinkable.

Katsina Utd v Doma United: Doma may want to cause an upset, but I tip the home to a possible win or draw.

Kun Khalifa v Kwara: This may be a dream win for the Arab-sounding club from Owerri.

Nasarawa v Niger Tornadoes: Em, I don't know how to approach this, but i am hesitantly sure that both teams may score.

Plateau United v Inter Lagos: Sure win for the home side. Home advantage plus massive support will add to the Sunday mix.

Warri Wolves v Shooting: I won't be surprised if Shooting takes the three points. The Wolves haven't impressed me much enough to be a serious contender this season. Home attendance has been average, but let me pity them by predicting them 1X.

It's match day in Aba as my darling club Bendel insurance fc takes on Abia Warriors in continuation of the Euromatch Nigeria football professional league.
Bendel insurance have not been spectacular away from home this season as they have lost all two matches played away so far.
