I don't agree with you. Starting from Kirchhoff's law, you can pretty much finish the task. Star-Delta Tx is only another method one can use. Kirchhoff's law is so fundamental, it's all you need to solve the problem. Only you may have to deal with a set of simultaneous equations

They are actually pretty easy questions which just need the application of Kirchhoff's law
