How?what is the business of army officers with issues between civilians? You Igbos should own up and apologise for causing the confusion and mess that Nigeria is in.

Your commentary is balanced and devoid of insults, hence i took the time to consider your points. Personally, I appreciate logic not the useless insults that we see from faceless children here. They cannot support any argument hence the throw insult.
I do not generally attack tribes but individuals and usually based on their actions. I invite you to please review my posts. Attacking tribe based on individual misdeed is illogical. I generally do not do that.

Ambode destroying this market may ultimately be justified as you tried to explain. But he needed to execute it better. The timing seems mean spirited and having peoples wares looted and burned while they were away is very bad. It sends the wrong message.

Again, I do not judge Ambode bc he is a Yoruba man. I consider him a Nigerian governor first and formest. But i believe that he is proving a bit inexperienced. He will learn from this and learn to sell things better.

Lastly, Igbos and Yoruba feud is the biggest gift to Northern Nigeria. See although I supported and still support PMB, I do not really think he takes Southern Nigeria very seriously. Look at his first 40 appointments. But we Southern Nigerians have ourselves to blame.
There is a limit to human tolerance, even you as the governor would have acted far much earlier than Ambode did.
Governor Fashola engaged these traders for the better part of his tenure. The oyingbo market was planned for demolition and rebuilding along the Owonifari market, while the Yorubas occupying the oyingbo market left for the reconstruction, the Igbos in Owonifari were using all sort of tricks and excuses to delay the demolition.
The oyingbo market is a thriving modern stall market today.
Ambode simply called off their bluff after all attempts to engage them to move out peacefully have failed, thus resulting to the forceful eviction.
Igbo traders need a change in orientation in Lagos, they should stop hiding under Federal government to confront the state government.

Agreed, Have a good evening.
You have a good heart. The problem however is your mindset. You have been programmed that everything is a direct attack against Igbo interest, even when it's obvious that is not the case.
For eight years, they were engaged, dialogue with, and they keep coming up with excuses why the demolition should be postpone, they even insisted on not relocating to the allocated new market because it's story buildings with Lags BEGGING them to accept since land is scarce in Lagos to erect bugalow market that will consume more space.
Truth is NO GOVERNMENT anywhere in the world will stomach half of what the Igbo traders in Lagos tries with LASG.

PoliticsRe: Operation Clean And Healthy Anambra Seize Market Women's Goods by gurnam: 9:50pm On Jan 13, 2016
StOla:
Exactly my opinion of them.

They don't mind the disorder or chaos, Infact they thrive in it. Once a market begins to look too clean or organised, it is a turn off for them.

Imagine some complaining that the new market will only accommodate 600 traders, while the chaotic refuse dump that was destroyed accommodated 2000 - 5000 traders. They are asking what the government want the remaining traders to do?

It seems the Igbos among them have not heard of the land of the rising sun?

They claim Lagos needs them and is at their mercy because of a phantom IGR percentage due to them. Now the Lagos government has decided that a spacious, neater market with lower shop units is the way to go, but they are now worried that they have no market available to them in Lagos. Why not leave the ungrateful Lagos and return to their homeland? Shakara don end.

I have always maintained that no host nation is at the mercy of a certain tribe of immigrants. If the Mexicans will not tend to the gardens and housekeep for the Americans, the Cubans will.

Yorubas should do what they need to do with their states, without regard to anyone.
If you go to Aba, right from Faulks road down inside Ariaria and upper Iweala to the Head bridge drugs market, you will get an idea of how Igbos want a typical market to look like, they've been able to replicate the disorganized nature of those markets in any market you see them.
This is the reason you hardly see any self respecting person entering those markets but will rather go the shopping malls springing up.
Shopping malls with few flea markets is the way to go in SW, Igbos will naturally flee the SW if the markets get organized.
PoliticsRe: Operation Clean And Healthy Anambra Seize Market Women's Goods by gurnam: 9:15pm On Jan 13, 2016
StOla:
They commend their governors for sanitizing their states, irrespective that people would always be negatively affected by government policies.
But they are a nuisance to the developmental strides of other states' government.

The era of the Igbos posing a nuisance to the development agenda of Lagos state is over.

Just one tribe serves as a nuisance to all.
The truth is Igbos care less whether Lagos develops or not, they don't care if the whole state is overwhelmed with dirty markets as long as they have access and make their money.
They have no emotional attachment to the state, they only see it as a money pot.
It falls on the Yorubas to ensure Lagos develop.

[s]have you really accepted that name tag by ipob youth to be coward and a True South West region. Ok, igbokwe may be a true waste man because he has lived there for over 35yrs and all his kids born in eko are holding key position with lagos state govt, a position that an average waste man cannot afford. He got more right than you and some of them do occupy position that the son of the soil cannot dream of. Igbokwe is an Igbo man by origin but a yoruba man by his domineering of yoruba space.[/s]

So, was it demolished at night in Christmas season?
The truth is you people will always hold on to any flimsy excuse. If he does it on
Monday-people are just settling down for the week.
Tuesday-people are just receiving stock into shops
Wednesday- ah, this is the height of sales of the week
Thursday-they want to round up for the week
Friday- they are rounding up sales
Saturday- they want to count stock
Sunday- they are in church

Truth is no time will ever be appropriate to you traders as long as you want to prove stubborn.
Well, the market is gone and in the place, a very befitting bus terminus will rise.
Lagos must develop even if means demolishing all the shanties call markets and whether you villagers want or not.
