Your error might be from your php code which is not available.
Use a JavaScript debugger which might be your console, then console.log the response coming from server.

What ever you are trying to achieve according to your last reply, you should style the parent container holder the header and nav, not just the header.
Remove the fix style from the header and style the parent container.
