I bought BLU Tango Android 2.2 last June from the USA and it's damn great. Works well with MTN, Airtel, Glo and Etisalat. It's cheap and damn good. They don't sell here in 9ja for now but if you need it, just holla and I will get it for you from the USA.
Politics / Re: Fg Adds 188mgw To Power, As Supply Sits 3,800mgw by GurusForum: 11:00am On Jan 29, 2011
Let me make a statement based on my experience.

If you ask me today, I will say there is a positive
change in power supply and I would like it to increase
day by day.

In the area I live for the past 3years, I buy fuel for
my generator 2 - 3 times a week. We stay for a week
without power from PHCN. Sometimes, I have to even
send sms to the PRO of PHCN in my state before power
will be restored.

From my discovery, it seems like generator and fuel
sellers bribe those PHCN officials to take light. I said
this because anytime I send sms to the PRO, light
will come and even stay for 2days without interruption.

But now, the case is different. Since Jan. 2011, I have
not gone out to buy fuel for my generator again except
yesterday. We now have power supply all round and
the current is normal.

So, there is an improvement but we need more!
Phones / Re: The Cheapest Network To Call Now Is Etisalat by GurusForum: 9:21am On Jan 29, 2011
@ blackweaver, Glo Infinito is even cheaper than Etisalat.

If you use Glo to call abroad, it's N10 per min.

However, the cheapest is Airtel

This story just validated what a big time estate
valuer once told us. He said that civil servants in
Abuja are richer than senators and house members
and we doubted it.

He went ahead to tell us that an estate firm once
tried to sell building worth hundreds of millions of
Naira to the NASS members but none of them bought
a single building.

They were all bought by civil servants. Now, I know
the truth.

@ JUO, It may be from MTN network in your area.

It's cool here in the East. I can talk to my wife for
more than 1hr without any break.

Anyway, it seems like MTN is much better in the
East than anywhere else.
Phones / Re: The Cheapest Network To Call Now Is Etisalat by GurusForum: 12:45pm On Jan 27, 2011
The cheapest for calls is Airtel. No more, no less.

Then, if you have a wife, special girlfriend to call,
better use MTN Magic Number. It's N250 per month.
I'm currently using it to call my wife and it has been
great!

Glo infinito is even cheaper than Etisalat.

To find out, go to each network's website and read
the truth.
Business / Re: How To Open Paypal Account In Nigeria by GurusForum: 1:22pm On Jan 06, 2011
Opening a PayPal account is not as easy as people make it to be.

Why? Because you may rush now, open one and verify with a VCC,
then after funding it, you will find out funds locked in that account.

So, doing it needs a STATIC accessibility that works all the time.

My company and I can help you get a PayPal account that is accessible.

Just Click On Accessible PayPal Account 4 Naija to get it.

Thanks.

@ K2

Are you real or what? Coz my contacts are based in Florida. They have good connections here in Nigeria and the US. Like I said before, they deal directly with multi-nationals in the US who are also buying crude from Nigeria but it is not enough for them.

If you're real, then pm your details in the US and they will get in touch with you. If your seller(s) is real, they can even take you guys to the Nigeria Consulate Office in new York for formalizing the deal.

Am waiting.
Business / Re: Share Your Story - Have You Made Money From Nigerian Crude Oil by GurusForum: 4:02pm On Nov 14, 2010
Oil biz is real but very frustrating if you get into wrong hands.

I have my own experience. I have good buyers from USA. These guys are my facilitators in the US while I'm theirs in Nigeria. We have tried all we could do to do some deals but Nigerian sellers are always disappointing.

I have personally moved some Board of Directors of NNPC to US in 2006 when they attended OTC to see my people over there and they did. What frustrated that deal is greed. More so, we tried through the Consular General in New York for it, but nothing good came out of it.

We have direct contacts to oil majors in US coz my facilitators (their firm) are Project Manager for oil refineries and oil companies. They know their Vice Presidents/Directors one-on-one.

It came to a point where I stopped pursing it coz it drained me but my contacts kept calling me to continue. To be frank with you, am tired of wasting money on calls to useless sellers and their mandates.
Foreign Affairs / Young Canada Asylum-seeker Was Disguised As Old Man by GurusForum: 3:07pm On Nov 06, 2010
Canadian authorities were trying to determine on Friday how a man believed to be in his 20s was able to board a flight in Hong Kong to Vancouver having disguised himself as an elderly passenger.

The young man, who was arrested when he arrived in Canada, boarded an Air Canada flight on October 29 wearing a realistic silicon head and neck mask that made him appear elderly, according to media reports and photographs.

A spokesman for Canada's public safety minister confirmed the incident but declined further comment. The man requested asylum in Canada when he arrived, which prevents officials from disclosing his name or where he is from. He is now being held in custody.

The man was able to board the flight apparently without a passport or any other documents with a picture or date of birth. He carried the boarding pass of a U.S. citizen who was booked on the flight.

Although the young man is of Asian origin, the intricate disguise made him look like a very elderly Caucasian.

"It is believed that the subject and the actual United States citizen passenger, whose date of birth is 1955, performed a boarding pass swap," according to a Canadian Border Services Agency security alert obtained by CNN.

An Air Canada spokesman said the issue was under investigation by Canadian authorities, but said there are multiple identification checks for passengers in Hong Kong - including one by the Chinese government.

Transport Canada is investigating if screening regulations were broken. It is the responsibility of airlines to verify the identity of passengers who appear to be 18 years or older before they are allowed on the aircraft.

"That means air carriers are supposed to look at a passenger's entire face to determine if they appear to be over 18 and if so, compare their physical appearance with their travel documents," said John Babcock, a spokesman for Transport Minister Chuck Strahl.

The man went into the airplane toilet midway through the flight and removed his disguise, according to the CBSA alert which noted the impostor did not attempt to disguise the age of his hands.

A search of the man's luggage uncovered gloves and a "disguise kit," according to the alert.

Sports / Blatter Orders Fifa To Probe Vote-selling Claims by GurusForum: 11:48pm On Oct 17, 2010
Blatter took the unusual step of issuing an open letter to members of the executive committee on Sunday, telling them a report in Britain's Sunday Times newspaper had created a "very negative impact" on soccer's governing body.

The report said Nigeria's Amos Adamu had been filmed asking for money for a personal project and that Oceania Football Confederation president Reynald Temarii from Tahiti wanted money for a sports academy.

FIFA is due to announce on December 2 in Zurich which countries will host the two World Cups with the 24-strong executive committee deciding both venues on a majority vote.

"I am sorry to have to inform you of a very unpleasant situation which has developed in relation to an article published today in the Sunday Times, entitled 'World Cup votes for sale'," Blatter wrote at www.fifa.com.

"The information in the article has created a very negative impact on FIFA and on the bidding process for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups."

He added: "I will keep you duly informed of any further developments. In the meantime, I would like to ask you to refrain from making any public comments on this matter."

That request came after Chuck Blazer, the United States representative on the executive committee, told Reuters that the decision on hosts for the next two World Cups was unlikely to be delayed.

"The Ethics Committee will address these issues directly and it should not take them very long to ascertain all the facts," Blazer, speaking in a telephone interview from New York, told Reuters.

"The date of December 2 was chosen specifically ahead of the 'political season' of congresses and elections, and I see no reason why this would be delayed."

The investigation comes after the Sunday Times said its reporters, working undercover, posed as lobbyists for a consortium of American private companies.

VOTING PROCEDURE

Blazer told Reuters: "I cannot comment on these cases individually of course, but what I will say is up to now I have met with five different bidding committees and in some cases visited their countries -- England, Russia, Belgium/Holland, Japan and the United States.

"All the bidders I have met have been totally professional in their presentations, not alluding to any other types of benefits and I think that needs to be said.

"They were simply trying to offer the best World Cup proposals.

"I don't think people should get the wrong impression of the FIFA process either. On the contrary, it was not as if journalists have been monitoring a bid that seemed dubious in any way, but they have created a scam, a trap.

"However, it is up to FIFA individuals to be vigilant at all times.

"I do not think there is anything wrong with the voting procedure. We have come to expect it to be carried out morally and ethically based on good judgement and on what has been presented by a bidding committee.

"By having a small body decide where the World Cup will be held, you also can identify the people responsible for choosing the World Cup venue -- the executive committee -- because they are the same people responsible for making it work."

The decision will be made by the 24-man executive committee, although a source close to the executive, who asked not to be named, said both Adamu and Temarii could find themselves suspended or off the committee by then if the claims against them were substantiated.

"FIFA will not allow anyone or anything to damage the reputation of the voting procedure and it could be that 22 men might make the decision, not 24," the source said.

England and Russia are bidding for the 2018 finals along with joint bids from Spain/Portugal and Belgium/Netherlands.

The candidates for 2022 are the United States, Japan, South Korea, Qatar and Australia.

Politics / In The Next Election, We Should Vote For Lawyers/legal Practitioners by GurusForum: 1:14pm On Aug 03, 2010
There is this common thing I have noticed from
all the Governors in Nigeria. The best performing
ones are lawyers.

Look at Lagos and Enugu States, they are legal
practitioners.

What do you have to say about this?
Politics / Re: Nigerian Government Patronising Nigerian Products by GurusForum: 1:11pm On Aug 03, 2010
That's my Governor doing his thing.

I think we should all be voting for Lawyers
or Legal practitioners as political office
holders in Nigeria.

Look at Lagos and Enugu, they are the best
performing Governors in Nigeria.
Health / Hidden Dangers Of The Daily Shower by GurusForum: 7:13pm On Jun 30, 2010
Watching the classic Hitchcock movie Psycho may have given some of us a fear of taking a shower, but a new study suggests there may be more likely dangers lurking in the bathroom.

Scientists in the US used an ultra sensitive method to detect bacteria in shower-heads in bathrooms across the country.

Results showed that around 30 per cent of shower-heads had "significant amounts" of Mycobacterium avium, a bacterium linked to breathing illnesses that most often infects people in poor health but can also cause illness in healthy individuals.

These bacteria are often found in water. However, in shower-heads the bacteria tend to clump together to form a slimy "biofilm", at a concentration more than 100 times greater than is found in ordinary water.
Professor Norman Pace, who led the study, said: "If you are getting a face full of water when you first turn your shower on, that means you are probably getting a particularly high load of Mycobacterium avium, which may not be too healthy."

These results may also provide an explanation for the rise in Mycobacterium avium infections in recent years, coinciding with people preferring showers over baths.

"Water spurting from shower-heads can distribute pathogen-filled droplets that suspend themselves in the air and can easily be inhaled into the deepest parts of the lungs", Dr Pace noted.

Symptoms of pulmonary disease caused by the germ include tiredness, a persistent dry cough, shortness of breath, weakness and "generally feeling bad," Dr Pace said. People with compromised immune systems, like pregnant women, the elderly and those who are fighting off other diseases, are more prone to experience symptoms, he added.

This is not the first time that such dangers have been uncovered in public bathing waters. Previous studies by Dr Pace and his group found massive enrichments of the germ in "soap scum" commonly found on vinyl shower curtains and floating above the water surface of warm therapy pools.

A 2006 therapy pool study also found it in the indoor pool environment, which was linked to a pneumonia-like pulmonary condition in pool attendants known as "lifeguard lung".

What this study means

This study took place in the US, where water quality standards are different from those of the UK. However, it does seem a good precaution to let the shower run for a few moments before entering, and to regularly clean the shower and the shower-head.

Also metal shower-heads seem to be cleaner that plastic ones according to Dr Pace.

Business / Re: Illegal ATM Withdrawals: How To Seek Justice? by GurusForum: 11:58pm On Jun 04, 2010
I read all the advice and complaint about ATM fraud and GTB.

To be frank with you, I have two accounts with GTB, one with
UBA and another one with FirstBank. In all, GTB is not better
than any of them.

I have suffered lots of damage because of GTB and I think I
should get out all my money and say to them "Good bye". The
same thing happened to my colleagues. They make lots of noise
but they don't have strong insider security control.

If you adopt lots of internet banking facilities, you should
provide strong mechanism for stopping ambitious thieves working
in the IT dept of the bank from altering client's info. But it
seems, they don't.

It's better we shine our eyes and bank with other better banks.
