Oh but see, thats my point exactly. Its some sort of illusion. That person isnt the love of your life, just something close. He certainly served a purpose in my life; he helped me realize the kind of man I want to be with. I think that was his purpose.

But well I have been in a similar situation. I'm suggesting you do what I did. Its of course, extremely difficult (happened years ago and I still miss the idiot lol) but its necessary. That "love of your life" (again, not talking about you) obviously does not feel thesame well enough to leave their current partner. If they were the love of your life, they'd be with you; not someone else.

Of course it was easy to miss all of THIS!!!!!!!! Since you compressed your response into those 3 simple words.

I think the perfect description of yours is that the love of your life is in love with someone else. You believe one should simply move on because the feeling from the other party does not mirror yours. I feel you.
This is the love of your life we're talking about here. I would think it would be too intense to simply let go of . . . even moving on would be difficult. Moreover, if you get involved with someone else while your heart lies with another, you would be doing yourself a disservice, by living in misery while knowing that your happiness is with another.
