WHY DO SOME NIGERIAN CHRISTIANS DEFEND POLITICIANS MORE PASSIONATELY THAN THEY DEFEND CHRIST?

One of the strangest things about Nigerian Christianity today is how easily political loyalty can become stronger than Christian conviction.

A Christian can hear a politician make a statement that clearly contradicts his values, yet spend hours defending the politician.

He can see corruption allegations, broken promises, injustice, or policies affecting ordinary Nigerians, yet immediately search for excuses because “our man” is involved.

But let somebody question a doctrine, attack the church, or mock the Christian faith, and suddenly the same person remembers every scripture about standing for the truth.

This raises an uncomfortable question:

When political loyalty conflicts with Christian conviction, which one wins?

The problem is not that Christians participate in politics. Christians are citizens, and they have every right to support candidates, parties, and policies according to their convictions.

The problem begins when political allegiance becomes so strong that a believer starts defending everything done by his preferred politician, regardless of whether it agrees with the principles he claims to follow as a Christian.

Christians should be able to say:

“My preferred politician is wrong on this issue.”

“My party made a mistake.”

“This policy is harmful.”

“I supported this person, but I cannot defend this particular action.”

That is not betrayal.

That is intellectual and moral consistency.

The scripture says in James 2:1:

“My brothers and sisters, believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ must not show favoritism.”

Political favoritism can become particularly dangerous when Christians begin judging the same action differently depending on who committed it.

When our politician does it, there is an explanation.

When the opposition does the same thing, it becomes evidence of wickedness.

When our side loses an election, everything becomes rigging.

When our side wins, suddenly the process becomes credible.

When our politician makes a controversial statement, supporters explain what he “really meant.”

When an opponent makes the same statement, Christians condemn the person's character.

At that point, the question is no longer merely political.

It becomes a question of integrity.

CHRIST should not be used as a decoration on top of political loyalty.

A Christian's political affiliation should remain subordinate to his allegiance to CHRIST.

You can support a politician without worshipping him.

You can vote for a party without becoming its defender in every circumstance.

You can acknowledge the achievements of a government while criticizing its failures.

You can criticize an opposition party without pretending your own side is incapable of wrongdoing.

And most importantly, you can disagree politically with another Christian without treating that person as an enemy of CHRIST.

Nigeria does not need Christians who are incapable of criticizing their own political camp.

Nigeria needs Christians whose convictions remain intact even when the person they support is wrong.

The real test of political neutrality is not whether you criticize the opposition.

The real test is whether you can tell the truth when your own side is wrong.

So here is the question for Nairaland:

Have Nigerian Christians allowed political, ethnic, and party loyalty to become stronger than their loyalty to CHRIST?

The strongest part is that it does not defend Obi blindly.

It forces the argument back to the accounting question: what exactly was outstanding on March 17, 2014?

That is the line that makes the piece harder to dismiss as ordinary political propaganda.

SOLUDO’S ₦127 BILLION CLAIM: LET’S FOLLOW THE NUMBERS, NOT THE NOISE

There is a very important distinction in this Soludo versus Peter Obi argument that people should not miss.

Soludo’s government says Anambra is still servicing loans associated with projects undertaken during the Peter Obi era. Fine. That is a factual issue that can be verified.

But the bigger claim being pushed is that Peter Obi left Anambra with ₦127.37 billion in debt.

That is where the numbers need to be examined carefully.

The Anambra Government says eight external financing facilities associated with the Obi administration originally amounted to about $123.77 million, with approximately $92.35 million still outstanding as of June 30, 2026. At the current exchange rate used by the government, that is about ₦127.37 billion.

But here is the problem:

₦127.37 billion is the 2026 value of the outstanding balance, not evidence that Obi handed over ₦127.37 billion in debt in March 2014.

Those are two completely different things.

The Debt Management Office's records put Anambra's external debt at about $30.32 million as of December 31, 2013, less than three months before Obi left office. The state's domestic debt was about ₦3.03 billion at the same date.

So if the argument is that Obi physically handed over ₦127 billion of debt, the obvious question is:

Where is the March 17, 2014 debt statement showing ₦127 billion?

Because converting a loan balance from dollars to today's naira and then attaching it to a governor who left office more than 12 years ago is not the same thing as establishing his debt position on the day he handed over.

There is another important issue.

The government's own description says the eight facilities were loans "obtained during or inherited into" the Obi administration. That wording matters. It means every dollar in the present outstanding balance cannot automatically be treated as money personally borrowed by Peter Obi. A loan-by-loan schedule showing the date of approval, date of drawdown, amount actually drawn, amount outstanding on March 17, 2014, and subsequent repayments would settle the argument much more convincingly.

And Obi has now produced his handover statement.

The document dated March 17, 2014 listed:

₦27 billion in local investments
$156 million in foreign currency investment, stated in the document as ₦26.5 billion
₦28.17 billion in certified State/MDAs balances
₦10 billion in an FGN approved refund

Total: ₦91.67 billion

It then estimated liabilities, including March salaries, pensions, gratuities, and certificates for already executed projects, at ₦5 billion, leaving a stated net balance of about ₦86.67 billion.

Now, people can dispute the accuracy or interpretation of that handover document. That is legitimate.

But that is precisely why the debate should be about the actual March 2014 accounts, not about taking a 2026 dollar balance and presenting it as though Obi personally walked away from Awka with ₦127 billion in unpaid debt.

There is also nothing inherently wrong with Anambra having development loans. The Soludo administration itself has acknowledged that borrowing for legitimate development projects is not automatically financial mismanagement. The listed projects include education, healthcare, erosion control, agriculture, malaria control, and community development.

Therefore, the serious question is not:

"Did Anambra ever have loans connected to projects implemented during Obi's tenure?"

The evidence says yes.

The serious question is:

"Exactly how much debt did Peter Obi leave on March 17, 2014, after accounting for the actual disbursements, repayments, inherited facilities, investments, and other liabilities?"

That figure should be produced from the records of March 17, 2014, not reconstructed from a 2026 balance.

If Soludo's government has the documents, publish the complete loan-by-loan schedule.

Show:

Original facility.
Date signed.
Date disbursed.
Amount actually drawn.
Amount outstanding on March 17, 2014.
Amount subsequently repaid by Obiano.
Amount subsequently repaid by Soludo.
Current balance.

That would end the argument.

Until then, saying "Obi left ₦127 billion debt" collapses a 12-year accumulation of loan balances into a figure that exists in 2026 and presents it as though it was the amount sitting on Anambra's books when Obi handed over in 2014.

Numbers are powerful, but dates matter. In public finance, the balance sheet date is not a minor detail. It is the whole argument.

Let us be brutally honest: Tinubu may have the political structure, but that does not mean he has the people.

By 2027, the question will not be how powerful the APC is. The real question will be whether ordinary Nigerians believe their lives are better under Tinubu.

And that is where the danger begins for the President. You can control political structures, win endorsements and dominate the headlines—but you cannot easily control what voters feel when they enter the market, pay rent, buy fuel, or struggle to keep their businesses alive.

If that frustration becomes a united political force in 2027, Tinubu could discover that incumbency is not immunity.

You don't need to say it louder. Their money is already rejected spiritually. Saying it is just catching cruise.

We play too much for the glory of men. Seek for true glory.

IF GOD KNOWS EVERYTHING, WHY DOES HE ASK US TO PRAY?

If GOD already knows everything, why should we pray?

If HE already knows what we need before we ask, why does HE tell us to ask?

If HE already knows the beginning from the end, can our prayers actually change anything?

These are not small questions.

They go to the heart of what prayer really is.

CHRIST JESUS said:

«“For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.”»

Matthew 6:8.

Notice what CHRIST JESUS did not say.

HE did not say, “Since your Father knows what you need, therefore stop praying.”

Instead, immediately afterward, HE taught them how to pray.

So the fact that GOD knows does not make prayer unnecessary.

It reveals that prayer has a purpose deeper than informing GOD.

GOD DOES NOT NEED INFORMATION FROM YOU

When you pray, you are not updating GOD about your circumstances.

HE already knows.

Before you tell HIM what you need, HE knows.

Before you explain your problem, HE knows.

Before you know what you will need tomorrow, HE knows.

Psalm 139:4 says:

«“For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, O LORD, You know it altogether.”»

Therefore, prayer cannot primarily be about giving GOD information HE does not possess.

So what is prayer about?

PRAYER IS RELATIONSHIP AND PARTICIPATION

GOD's knowledge does not eliminate human participation.

Think about it.

GOD knows that food is necessary for human life, yet HE still gives human beings the responsibility to eat.

GOD knows what you need, yet CHRIST JESUS still says:

«“Ask, and it will be given to you.”»

Matthew 7:7.

The command to ask is not because GOD is ignorant.

It is because GOD has chosen to involve human beings in His purposes.

Prayer is therefore not informing an ignorant GOD.

Prayer is participating with a knowing GOD.

GOD KNOWS THE PRAYER BEFORE YOU PRAY IT

This becomes even more profound when we consider GOD's foreknowledge.

If GOD knows everything, then HE already knows every prayer you will ever pray.

HE knows the words before they come out of your mouth.

HE knows the request before you formulate it.

HE knows the answer before you ask the question.

Yet HE still tells you to pray.

Why?

Because the prayer itself is part of the story HE already knows.

Your prayer is not an unexpected event that forces GOD to change His eternal knowledge.

Your prayer is something GOD already knew you would pray.

THEN DOES PRAYER CHANGE GOD'S MIND?

This is where the subject becomes deeper.

The scripture contains passages where people pray and GOD responds.

Moses interceded.

Hezekiah prayed.

Hannah prayed.

Elijah prayed.

The early church prayed.

CHRIST JESUS prayed.

And scripture repeatedly presents prayer as meaningful and effective.

James 5:16 says:

«“The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”»

So prayer matters.

But GOD'S response to prayer does not mean GOD was ignorant of the situation until you informed HIM.

Rather, GOD can ordain both the outcome and the means through which the outcome comes.

In other words:

GOD can know the answer before HE knows the prayer?

No.

HE knows both.

The prayer and the answer are both within His knowledge.

PRAYER DOES NOT MAKE GOD SOVEREIGN

GOD was already sovereign before you prayed.

Your prayer does not make HIM GOD.

Your prayer does not increase His knowledge.

Your prayer does not persuade HIM that He should suddenly become good.

GOD is already good.

GOD already knows.

GOD already sees.

GOD already understands.

Yet HE has chosen prayer as one of the means through which His purposes are expressed in the earth.

That is why CHRIST JESUS taught His disciples:

«“Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”»

Matthew 6:10.

Look at that carefully.

Prayer is not merely:

“GOD, give me what I want.”

It is also:

“Your will be done.”

Prayer brings the desires of the believer into alignment with the purposes of GOD.

BUT IF GOD'S WILL IS ALREADY GOING TO HAPPEN, WHY PRAY?

Because GOD's sovereignty does not make your participation meaningless.

The same GOD who ordains an end can ordain the means.

For example, GOD could have decided that Elijah would pray before the rain came.

Elijah's prayer did not give GOD information about the weather.

Prayer was part of the process.

James 5:17 says:

«“Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain.”»

Then the rain eventually came.

The prayer mattered.

The answer mattered.

And GOD remained sovereign throughout the entire process.

PRAYER ALSO CHANGES THE PERSON PRAYING

There is another dimension we often overlook.

Sometimes prayer does not primarily change the circumstances.

It changes the person standing in the circumstances.

When you pray, you bring your fears, desires, questions, burdens, and expectations before GOD.

Philippians 4:6 says:

«“In everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to GOD.”»

And then Paul says:

«“And the peace of GOD, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through CHRIST JESUS.”»

Notice the progression.

You pray.

You give thanks.

And peace guards your heart and mind.

The circumstance may not have changed immediately.

But something has changed inside you.

PRAYER IS NOT A BATTLE AGAINST GOD'S RELUCTANCE

One of the greatest misunderstandings about prayer is imagining GOD sitting in heaven saying:

“Convince Me.”

But CHRIST JESUS reveals something completely different.

He says:

«“Your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.”»

The Father is not reluctant.

Prayer is not wrestling an unwilling GOD into submission.

Prayer is communion with the Father.

Prayer is dependence.

Prayer is fellowship.

Prayer is intercession.

Prayer is petition.

Prayer is thanksgiving.

Prayer is alignment.

Prayer is participation.

THE GREATEST EXAMPLE IS CHRIST JESUS

If anyone could have said, “There is no need for Me to pray because the Father already knows everything,” it would have been CHRIST JESUS.

Yet HE prayed.

HE withdrew to pray.

HE prayed before major moments.

HE prayed in Gethsemane.

And in Gethsemane, HE said:

«“Nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.”»

Luke 22:42.

This destroys the idea that prayer is unnecessary simply because GOD knows everything.

The Son knew the Father.

The Father knew the Son.

Yet there was still prayer.

Why?

Because prayer is not merely about transferring information.

It is communion between GOD and His people.

SO, CAN PRAYER CHANGE THINGS?

Yes.

The scripture presents prayer as genuinely consequential.

But prayer does not mean that human beings are more sovereign than GOD.

Neither does GOD'S sovereignty mean that prayer is meaningless.

Both truths stand together:

GOD knows everything.

GOD commands us to pray.

GOD hears prayer.

GOD responds to prayer.

GOD remains sovereign.

That is the mystery.

Prayer is not humanity teaching GOD something HE does not know.

Prayer is humanity responding to GOD, relating with GOD, participating in GOD'S purposes, and bringing requests before HIM.

HERE IS THE QUESTION THAT SHOULD REALLY BOTHER US

Perhaps the question is not:

“If GOD knows everything, why should I pray?”

Perhaps the better question is:

“If GOD already knows everything, why would HE invite me to pray?”

And the answer is profound:

Because GOD does not merely want you to know about HIM.

HE wants fellowship with you.

HE wants you to participate.

HE wants you to trust HIM.

HE wants you to bring your heart before HIM.

HE wants you to seek His will.

HE wants you to intercede.

HE wants you to ask.

HE wants you to give thanks.

And above all, HE wants prayer to be more than a transaction.

Prayer is relationship with the GOD who already knows.

So when you kneel down to pray tonight, remember:

You are not informing GOD.

You are approaching the One who already knows.

You are not trying to make GOD care.

You are responding to the One who already cares.

You are not trying to convince GOD to become GOD.

You are coming before GOD as GOD.

And perhaps that is why prayer remains one of the greatest privileges given to humanity.

ARE YOU PRAYING FOR SOMETHING TO HAPPEN, OR RECEIVING WHAT GOD HAS ALREADY ACCOMPLISHED?

One of the greatest discoveries a Christian can make is understanding the difference between asking GOD to do something and receiving what GOD has already done in CHRIST JESUS.

Many believers spend years praying, “GOD, please give me this,” “GOD, please heal me,” “GOD, please deliver me,” “GOD, please bless me,” without stopping to ask a deeper question:

What has GOD already accomplished through CHRIST JESUS?

The distinction is important.

Prayer is not always about persuading GOD to act.

Sometimes prayer is the expression of faith in what GOD has already accomplished.

The scripture says:

«“It is finished!”»

Those were among the final words of CHRIST JESUS on the cross.

He did not say, “I have started.”

He said, “It is finished.”

That changes the way the believer approaches GOD.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ASKING AND RECEIVING

Imagine someone deposits money into your account and gives you proof that the money is already there.

You could spend the next five years begging that person to deposit the money.

But the problem would not be the person's unwillingness to give.

The problem would be that you have not understood what has already been deposited into your account.

This is where many Christians struggle spiritually.

They keep asking GOD to provide what scripture says He has already provided.

Peter writes:

«“His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness.”»

Notice the tense.

Has given.

Not “will eventually give.”

The provision is connected to what GOD has already done.

FAITH DOES NOT CREATE GOD'S WILL

Faith does not manufacture the willingness of GOD.

Faith responds to what GOD has revealed.

Romans 10:17 says:

«“Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of GOD.”»

Faith therefore has something to believe.

The believer does not have to create a promise.

The believer discovers the promise, believes it, and lives from it.

This is why the language of scripture matters.

Paul says in Ephesians 1:3:

«“Blessed be the GOD and Father of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in CHRIST.”»

Again, look at the tense:

“Who has blessed us.”

Paul is describing something GOD has already accomplished in CHRIST.

Therefore, there is a difference between saying:

“GOD, please bless me.”

and saying:

“Father, I thank YOU for what YOU have already provided for me in CHRIST JESUS.”

The second statement begins from a position of recognition rather than uncertainty.

BUT DOES THIS MEAN WE SHOULD STOP PRAYING?

Absolutely not.

The New Testament does not teach Christians to abandon prayer.

Paul says:

«“Pray without ceasing.”»

CHRIST JESUS Himself prayed.

The question is not whether we should pray.

The question is what we understand prayer to be.

Prayer can include asking, intercession, thanksgiving, fellowship, worship, petition, and spiritual communion.

But there is a difference between asking GOD to accomplish something that He has already accomplished and approaching GOD with confidence concerning what He has already revealed.

John writes:

«“And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”»

The foundation is His will.

We are not trying to manipulate GOD into becoming good.

We are responding to the goodness He has already revealed.

CHRIST JESUS CHANGED THE BASIS OF OUR APPROACH

Under the old covenant, there was a repeated expectation of things to come.

The Messiah was anticipated.

The sacrifice was anticipated.

Redemption was anticipated.

But CHRIST JESUS came.

He died.

He was buried.

He rose again.

He ascended.

And the HOLY SPIRIT was given.

The Christian therefore lives on the other side of the resurrection.

We are not waiting for CHRIST JESUS to come and accomplish redemption.

Redemption has been accomplished.

We are not waiting for Him to rise from the dead.

He has risen.

We are not waiting for GOD to make CHRIST JESUS LORD.

He has already exalted Him.

The question becomes:

Do we know what has been accomplished, and are we living from it?

RECEIVING IS DIFFERENT FROM BEGGING

Receiving does not mean passivity.

Receiving means believing and appropriating what GOD has provided.

A gift can be completely purchased and placed in your name, yet you can live as though you have nothing because you do not know that it belongs to you.

This is why knowledge matters.

Paul prayed that believers would have:

«“the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him.”»

Why?

Because there are realities that must be known before they can be consciously enjoyed.

The Christian life is not merely about getting GOD to do more.

It is also about discovering what GOD has already done.

THE CROSS IS NOT AN UNFINISHED PROJECT

The cross was not GOD making a partial payment toward redemption.

CHRIST JESUS did not die so that humanity could eventually complete what He started.

The work of redemption rests on Him.

Hebrews says:

«“But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of GOD.”»

One sacrifice.

Forever.

Sat down.

The sitting down is significant.

The work was accomplished.

Therefore, the believer's relationship with GOD is not built on trying to convince GOD to finish the work of CHRIST JESUS.

It is built on faith in the finished work.

SO WHAT SHOULD WE PRAY?

Instead of approaching every situation with the mentality:

“GOD, please come and do something.”

We can learn to ask:

“Father, what have YOU already accomplished concerning this?”

Then we search the scripture.

We discover His will.

We believe His word.

We give thanks.

We act in faith.

And we refuse to allow circumstances to become greater than GOD'S revelation.

This is not presumption.

It is faith anchored in revelation.

The mature believer does not merely know how to ask GOD for things.

The mature believer knows how to recognize what GOD has already provided.

THE BIG QUESTION

Perhaps the greatest problem is not that Christians pray too much.

Perhaps sometimes we pray from a position of ignorance rather than revelation.

We ask GOD for what we have not discovered.

We beg for what we have not understood.

We wait for what scripture says has already been accomplished.

And sometimes we interpret the absence of a manifestation as the absence of GOD.

But GOD'S work and our experience are not always the same thing.

The question is therefore not simply:

“What are you asking GOD to do?”

The deeper question is:

“What has GOD already done that you have not yet learned to receive?”

That question can completely transform your prayer life.

YOUR BODY NEEDS CHANGING

«“But if the Spirit of Him who raised JESUS from the dead dwells in you, He who raised CHRIST from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”

There is a dimension of CHRISTIANITY that many people have not understood: GOD did not only come to change your destination; HE came to change the condition of your existence.

The Gospel is not merely about what happens to you after death. It is about the life of GOD that has entered you now.

The scripture says that if the Spirit of HIM who raised CHRIST from the dead dwells in you, HE will also give life to your mortal body through HIS Spirit who dwells in you.

Notice the language of the scripture.

It does not say that the Spirit of GOD is merely visiting you.

It says HE DWELLS IN YOU.

The same Spirit responsible for the resurrection of CHRIST JESUS has taken residence in the believer.

That changes everything.

THE PROBLEM IS NOT THE PRESENCE OF THE SPIRIT

The believer is not waiting for the HOLY SPIRIT to arrive.

HE has already come.

The issue is understanding what HIS indwelling means.

Paul deliberately connects the resurrection of CHRIST JESUS with the mortal body.

Why?

Because GOD is not interested in leaving the believer as a person who possesses divine life internally but remains completely governed by the limitations of the old existence.

The life of GOD is designed to permeate the whole man.

Your spirit has received the life of GOD.

Your mind must be renewed by the truth of GOD.

And your mortal body must come under the influence of the life that is already within you.

This is why Paul says:

“He will also give life to your mortal bodies.”

The body is mortal, but the Spirit dwelling in you is not mortal.

The body is subject to weakness, but the Spirit carries resurrection life.

The body is subject to corruption, but the Spirit is the Spirit of life.

Therefore, there is a divine confrontation between what the body naturally represents and what the Spirit presently carries.

YOUR BODY NEEDS CHANGING

When we say, “Your body needs changing,” we are not saying that GOD has abandoned the body.

We are saying that the mortal body is not the final expression of what GOD intends for humanity in CHRIST.

The body must be brought into conformity with the life of CHRIST.

Romans 12:2 speaks of transformation through the renewing of the mind.

Romans 8:11 speaks of life being given to the mortal body through the indwelling Spirit.

This reveals a divine order:

THE MIND IS RENEWED.
THE LIFE IS EXPRESSED.
THE BODY COMES UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF THE SPIRIT.

The Christian life therefore cannot be reduced to merely possessing information about CHRIST.

CHRIST is not simply a doctrine you believe.

HIS life is the reality in which you now live.

THE RESURRECTION LIFE IS ALREADY IN YOU

Consider what Paul actually says.

The Spirit who raised CHRIST from the dead dwells in you.

That is extraordinary.

The resurrection was not accomplished by human strength.

It was the work of GOD.

And Paul says that the very Spirit associated with that resurrection now dwells in the believer.

Therefore, the believer carries within himself the divine source of resurrection life.

The power is not coming from the flesh.

The power is not coming from human willpower.

The power is not coming from positive thinking.

THE SOURCE IS THE HOLY SPIRIT.

MORTAL DOES NOT MEAN FINAL

The word “mortal” is important.

Paul does not deny the present condition of the body.

He calls it mortal.

Mortal means subject to death.

But he immediately introduces another reality:

THE SPIRIT OF LIFE.

Therefore, the believer must never confuse present mortality with ultimate destiny.

Your body has a present condition, but GOD has revealed a greater future for it.

1 Corinthians 15 declares that what is sown in corruption will be raised in incorruption.

What is sown in dishonor will be raised in glory.

What is sown in weakness will be raised in power.

The body you presently possess is not the final form of the body GOD has ordained for you.

There is a transformation coming.

But Romans 8:11 also reveals that the Spirit's life is relevant to the mortal body now.

The future resurrection does not make the present indwelling Spirit irrelevant.

The resurrection life of CHRIST is already the believer's spiritual reality.

STOP THINKING LIKE THE OLD MAN

One of the greatest obstacles to experiencing the life of CHRIST is continuing to interpret yourself exclusively according to the natural man.

If all you see is weakness, you will live according to weakness.

If all you see is mortality, you will live as though mortality is your complete identity.

If all you see is human limitation, you will continually organize your life around limitation.

But the Gospel introduces another consciousness:

THE BODY MUST SERVE THE LIFE WITHIN

Paul says in 1 Corinthians 6:19 that your body is the temple of the HOLY SPIRIT.

That means the body is not worthless.

It is not disposable.

It is not outside the scope of redemption.

GOD has claimed it.

Your body belongs to the LORD.

Therefore, the body must become an instrument through which the life of GOD is expressed.

Romans 6:13 says:

«“Present yourselves to GOD as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to GOD.”»

Look at that expression:

“Alive from the dead.”

That is the language of resurrection.

The believer has been brought into a new order of life, and the physical members of the body are to become instruments of that life.

Your hands belong to GOD.

Your mouth belongs to GOD.

Your eyes belong to GOD.

Your feet belong to GOD.

Your body belongs to GOD.

The life inside you must find expression through the body you carry.

The foundation is CHRIST.

You are not trying to manufacture divine life.

You are learning to live from the divine life that GOD has already given you in CHRIST.

The transformation is GOD's work.

THE BODY WILL HAVE THE LAST TESTIMONY

One day, the transformation will be undeniable.

The resurrection will reveal physically what the Gospel has already established spiritually.

Philippians 3:21 says that CHRIST will transform our lowly body so that it may be conformed to HIS glorious body.

That is the ultimate answer to mortality.

The body will not remain forever in its present condition.

Death will not have the final form.

Corruption will not have the final form.

Weakness will not have the final form.

CHRIST will have the final form.

And the resurrection will reveal it.

Do not reduce the HOLY SPIRIT to a feeling.

Do not reduce HIM to an occasional experience.

And the same GOD who raised CHRIST from the dead has declared that the mortal body will not remain outside the reach of HIS life.

YOUR BODY NEEDS CHANGING.

But I wouldn't jump from that question to “therefore he has no courage.”
Courage and political machinery are two different things.


And the claim that he “cannot galvanize zilch” is difficult to reconcile with the extraordinary grassroots movement that has formed around him since 2022. You can argue that the movement is insufficient to win the presidency. You can argue that it lacks structure. You can argue that enthusiasm isn't the same thing as electoral organisation.
But you can't honestly say there is no political mobilisation around Peter Obi.

There clearly is.


As for Atiku performing better, that's a perfectly legitimate prediction. But Atiku has also spent decades inside the Nigerian political establishment. He has enormous experience, networks and institutional knowledge, but he also carries the baggage of the same political system Obi's supporters want to disrupt.

So I wouldn't dismiss Atiku.
But neither would I dismiss Obi.
And this is where the debate should actually become interesting:
Tinubu has demonstrated political machinery.


Atiku has demonstrated political experience and national networks.
Obi has demonstrated a different kind of political mobilisation and a reputation for fiscal restraint.
The question isn't who has the loudest supporters.


The question is who can combine political power, economic competence, national coalition-building, institutional reform and the courage to confront entrenched interests without destroying the country in the process.
If you believe Atiku can do that better than Obi, make that case.
But saying Obi is simply a “rain beaten chicken” doesn't answer the question.
It only tells us that you dislike him.

Fiscal discipline is no guarantee for economic prosperity. The man who decided to keep its coin under the ground in the parable of the talent can be said to be fiscally disciplined but clearly not wise.

How well did he dismantle influence of godfathers if Andy Uba was initially voted and sworn in as Governor in 2007 when Peter Obi was impeached by his state legislator. Was Andy Uba not Part of the Uba brother's that Kidnapped Ngige.

The likelihood of him being impeached like he was in the past if "selected as president" is very high. He has no courage whatsoever , if he did have an ounce of courage a political party created by him will be the kite he will flying under and not standing like a rain beaten chicken with emperor dickson looking at him with disgust.

I can see through people a 1million miles away, he is a disaster waiting to happen, Atiku will even perform better than he will.

Because those who know how much balls Obi possessed preferred Tinubu to Obi. They knew they could negotiate with Tinubu based on his inefficiencies but they have nothing on Obi.

So, we are not just headlessly trying to chase Tinubu away, we are also very intentional about who we want to replace him with - and that’s Peter Obi.

And all the godfathers and evil structures holding Nigeria down know that their powers will end with Peter Obi’s presidency because he’s so popular that he doesn’t need them to win election.

Then in addition to having balls, Obi has capacity and compassion, and his wife will never ask us to fry akara.

WHO CAN RULE NIGERIA WITH BALLS LIKE TINUBU?

Let’s be honest, whether you like Tinubu or hate him, there is one thing you cannot easily take away from the man: political courage and audacity.

Nigerian politics is not Sunday school.

It is a brutal game of interests, alliances, betrayals, negotiations, pressure, money, influence, power, and survival. You can have the best manifesto in the world, but if you cannot withstand political pressure, your manifesto will end up where many Nigerian promises have ended: in the dustbin.

Tinubu understands political power.

He understands how to build alliances, how to negotiate, how to wait for the right moment, how to bring different political interests under one roof, and, most importantly, how to make decisions that can completely change the political equation.

You don't have to agree with every decision he makes to acknowledge that.

Now here is the interesting question:

WHO ELSE IN NIGERIA HAS THAT KIND OF POLITICAL BALLS?

My answer is Nyesom Wike.

Love him or hate him, Wike is not politically timid.

This is a man who can look at powerful people and say, “No.”

He has fought political battles that would have made many politicians run for cover. He has openly challenged people within his own political family, survived political storms, built his own political structure, and remained relevant even when many thought his political career was finished.

That kind of political stubbornness is not necessarily a virtue by itself, but in Nigerian politics, you cannot ignore its value.

Now let's talk about Peter Obi.

I will give Obi his flowers. The man is disciplined, articulate, relatively clean in his public image, and has built an enormous following by presenting himself as an alternative to the old political establishment.

But here is the uncomfortable question:

Does Peter Obi have the political balls to call the shots in Nigeria's brutal political landscape?

Nigeria is not governed in a vacuum.

The political structure is deeply entrenched, with powerful regional, ethnic, religious, and elite interests competing for influence. Can Obi walk into that environment, stare down the political establishment, build the necessary alliances, and still impose his will when the interests of those powerful blocs collide with his agenda?

That is the question his supporters need to answer.

Because being a good man is not the same thing as being a politically powerful president.

Faithfulness is good. Competence is good. Integrity is good. But presidential power requires political strength too.

And this brings me to the biggest question of all:

Before you chase Tinubu away and later regret it, like some Nigerians say happened with Jonathan, ask yourself one simple question: WHO IS NEXT?

You may dislike Tinubu.

You may disagree with his policies.

You may believe Nigeria deserves better.

Fine.

But before you remove a political heavyweight from the equation, who exactly are you putting in his place?

Who has the political structure?

Who has the national alliances?

Who can negotiate with the North?

Who can negotiate with the South?

Who can handle the governors?

Who can manage the National Assembly?

Who can confront powerful party interests?

Who can survive the pressure from the political establishment?

Who can make a decision and tell everybody:

“This is what we are doing.”

And then make it happen?

Because removing one politician is easy.

Replacing his political capacity is the difficult part.

We Nigerians have a habit of destroying what we have because we are angry about what is wrong, only to discover later that what replaced it was worse.

Jonathan was chased out.

Today, people who once wanted him gone speak about his era with nostalgia.

History has a funny way of teaching Nigerians that the devil you know is not automatically better or worse than the devil you are about to meet.

So before we start shouting:

“GET TINUBU OUT!”

Let's answer the more important question:

“WHO ARE WE BRINGING IN?”

Because Nigeria doesn't only need a president who can give beautiful speeches.

Nigeria needs a president who can enter the room where the real decisions are being made and say:

“This is what we are going to do.”

And then actually do it.

Imagine a Nigerian president with:

Tinubu's political calculation + Wike's confrontational courage + Peter Obi's discipline and economic focus + competent technocrats + strong institutions.

Now THAT would be something to watch.

But let me make something clear before people start shouting APC, PDP, Labour, ADC, North, South, Christian, Muslim, Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, and all the usual Nigerian distractions.

This is not about worshipping politicians.

No Nigerian politician is bigger than Nigeria.

The real question is whether we can find leaders who possess the courage to make difficult decisions, the intelligence to understand consequences, the discipline to execute policies, and the humility to admit when something is not working.

Tinubu has demonstrated enormous political strength.

Wike has demonstrated enormous political aggression.

Obi has demonstrated enormous popular appeal and a different political philosophy.

But Nigeria needs something even bigger:

A leader with political courage AND administrative competence.

Because having balls without wisdom can destroy a country.

And having wisdom without courage can make you completely useless in government.

Nigeria needs both.

So, Nairaland, let's hear it:

Apart from Tinubu, which Nigerian politician has the political balls, strategic intelligence, courage, and national reach to actually take charge of Nigeria and withstand the pressure that comes with ruling this country?

And please, don't just mention your favourite politician.

Tell us what he has actually done to prove it.
