Sarah Moakwu, an Abuja-based clergywoman, has warned her members and Christians in general not to watch the current Big Brother Nigeria reality show “Shine Ya Eye.” She inquired if Jesus would have watched the performance if he had been on earth in a video broadcast online. She went on to say that she doesn’t believe the Big Brother concept was conceived in Heaven’s boardroom. In her words ”It has been brought to my attention that some of our members in family worship center and Christians in general are watching the Big Brother Nigeria programme. As a mother in the land and as a pastor by calling, I have a responsibility towards this generation, I feel a need to guide you in the path of righteousness. As a christian, you are to pattern your life after Jesus christ. So let me start by asking you a few question. Will Jesus watch Big Brother Nigeria? Is the Holy Spirit happy to sit with you and watch the programme? Has he cautioned you a few times and decided to leave you? Can you sincerely say you would happy to let your young children watch Big Brother Nigeria? We are God’s little children and he has enjoined us to receive his kingdom as little chuldren”she said Speaking further, the clergywoman said ”How is Big Brother Nigeria adding virtue , knowledge, self control, perseverance, brotherly kindness and love to you? How is it making you fruitful in the knowledge of our lord Jesus Christ? I want you to know that Satan is strategic. He is deliberate and patient. I doubt that the Big Brother project was planned in Heaven’s boardroom. It means it was planned outside of God. There is a plan and there is a tarhget. You are the target. No, it is not just entertainment. The plan of the enemy is to keep pushing the boundaries. Step by Step. Little by little until the lines completely disappear. Your defence and resistance wears out and you begin to practice what you see there and behold, Sodom and Gomorrah is upon on. If you notice, the Big Brother of five years ago is not like what they are showing now.” Watch Video below; Click the link below to watch the video https://loadedpulse.com/is-bbnaija-satanic-read-what-powerful-abuja-pastor-sarah-omakwu-has-to-say-video/ See some reactions from Nigerians; onyi_nnamchi wrote: We said ma’am! It started as a game and it ended as a fight. The acrimony between Pere and Whitemoney reached a zenith as they exchanged words last night. Cross introduced a game called “Whisper” to the house. It involved a housemate whispering something about another housemate to someone and you can’t tell the person involved about the question. Angel was selected and she whispered something about Pere to Emmanuel. Pere thought it was Whitemoney and he walked back after the game and asked what was said. He bent down to Whitemoney who was lying down and removed his belt/mic while he was talking. Whitemoney felt threatened and intimidated and he addressed Pere saying “I be street boy, I know say you no like me. If you want to come at me, come at me as a man… I love you so much but you hate me. You don’t like me, but, I still kill you with kindness”. Whitemoney continued, pointing at his leg saying “I chop bullet for here”. In his defence, Pere said he removed his belt because he bent down and the belt was tight. A man who has reportedly not taken water for 20 years has shared a tale of the series of events that led to his decision. Sharing his story to Afrimax captured on Theinfong.com, the man who wears dreadlocks revealed that he was sent to jail for a crime he did not commit and he decided to join the ‘rastafari’ religion and stop drinking water. He said; I have spent 20 years without drinking a drop of water and I am willing to spend more. Since 20 years now, I haven’t drank water. I will tell you why. I am a father of four children. I was a very good man with so much love to give. But it all started years ago when I was a rich man in the society. Everybody loved me and I haven’t turned into a “rastafari” yet. I used to take water then just like everyone else. But one day, I got visitors that ruined my life completely. They are the reason I am like this today. They came to me early in the morning and we talked and laughed just like others do. One of the men had an envelope that had documents inside and he forgot it in his house……… He further narrated that police men later stormed his house and they found the envelope and arrested him. It was revealed that the envelope contained documents of a car which was stolen. He spent years in prison and during his stay in prison, he found out that human beings have become so cruel and wicked. He decided to join the rastafari religion and stop taking water. On 1st October 1960, West Africa’s most populous nation – Nigeria gained independence from its colonial masters. Ever since, Independence Day has been celebrated, and particularly the decennial celebrations have provided opportunities for taking stock, reflecting on past achievements and setting out national aims. Thursday, October 1st, 2020 will mark the nation’s 60th Independence. The President of the nation in the person of Muhammadu Buhari is sure to declare a public holiday to mark this day. Nigeria @60 is an occasion that will be celebrated by Nigerians here at home and will also be observed by members of the Nigerian diaspora in cities around the world, with many pausing to reflect on their nation's history. The first European colonists to establish a presence in Nigeria were Spanish and Portuguese explorers, who traded with the locals from port towns along the Gulf of Guinea, first establishing Lagos as the key commercial hub it remains today. The British Empire began to dominate the territory in the 19th century through the Royal Niger Company, fending off German competition for resources and establishing the borders of modern Nigeria in 1914 when the Colony and Protectorate of Nigeria was formed. When calls for the end of colonial rule swept the continent after the Second World War, Nigeria was granted its independence precisely 60 years ago by Thursday, October 1st, 2020. Initially a parliamentary democracy under prime minister Abubakar Tafawa Balewa and governor-generals Nnamdi Azikiwe and Sir James Wilson Robertson, the country became a federal republic when a new constitution was adopted on 1 October 1963, Azikiwe becoming Nigeria's first president. Following a coup in 1966, Nigeria was ruled by a military junta until democracy was restored in 1979, again on 1 October, a date of recurrent significance to the country and its people, a day on which it has twice been released from authoritarian control. Looking at how far the nation have become, the challenges faced and difficulties as a nation one would ask: “Is there really anything to celebrate for Nigeria at 60?” However, former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, reportedly states that that the country's success in remaining "one nation" over the past years – enduring decades of disunity, civil war, and over 30 years of military rule – is an achievement in itself. But as the country clocks its sixty years independence, it is essential to focus less on ceremonial independence and more on its development progress. A decade ago, the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) reported that the proportion of Nigeria's population living on less than $1.25 a day rose from 49% to 77% between 1990 and 2008. In the run-up to the MDG summit, ActionAid reported that 26% of Nigerian children are malnourished, and that Nigeria would need until at least 2025 to meet the MDG target to halve child hunger. "For a country endowed with such rich and fertile soils and Africa's largest oil reserves, it should be doing much better," said the NGO. It is this "gap between potential and fulfilment" that has enraged Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka, demanding the Nigerian leadership give its citizens better reasons to celebrate. "Is it true when commentators say that Nigeria is blessed with potentials? The right of staying together as a country is worth celebrating but I find this embarrassing. I have raised the questions, what and when a nation is. We should find genuine need for celebration," Wole Soyinka quoted from a Van-guard publication. So while Thursday, October 1st 2020 marks the 60th anniversary of independence from Britain, Do we have a reason to celebrate? And do we have something to showcase with pride, like the Chinese are doing with their economy and the military in celebrating the 70th anniversary of their country’s independence? The fanfare that greeted Nigeria’s independence in 1960 demonstrated citizens’ hope and aspiration on the prospects of self-governance, at the end of over half a century of the colonization of the present-day Nigerian territory by Britain. But after 60 years, the hope appears pitiful. Nigeria’s fundamental challenges as a nation since independence are threefold: leadership, national unity, and economic development. The last two are precipitated by the huge challenge of leadership. Factories, faced with a sporadic power supply and stiff competition from cheaper Asian imports, are shutting down. Unemployment is soaring. It is undoubtedly true that the nation has other great achievements and goals accomplished as a nation. From the booming Nollywood film industry to the exploits of the Super Eagles on the football pitch, Nigerians have much to be proud of. The Nigerian music industry as well isn’t left behind, producing great talented artist who have put Nigeria on the map, the continent Africa at large. Nigeria has by far the largest population of all African countries, with an estimated one out of every five sub-Saharan Africans being a Nigerian. It is now one of the largest democracies in the world. Nigerians claim that its economy alternates with South Africa’s as the continent’s largest, depending on world commodity prices. Nigeria has traditionally played the most active diplomatic role on the world stage of any African country. Its cultural achievements also translate into “soft” influence on other African countries and elsewhere in the world. The nation is indeed blessed but one could be tempted to say the woes and challenges faced by Nigeria is by far greater than the few accolades that could be recognized. Though it possesses extraordinary potential, Nigeria is truly the troubled giant of Africa. The contention is that Nigeria’s economic stagnation of the last 60 years has been fostered by the corrupt political leadership class that shows more interest in private, group or ethnic gains than in the general wellbeing of the Nigerian citizens. The administration of President Muhammadu Buhari recognizes this illness and avows commitment to fighting corruption. As already noted, the foregoing is not to say that Nigeria is a total failure. Evidence of minimal successes abound. The country has remained one. Progress in the agriculture, banking and telecommunication sectors is undeniable. But for Nigeria to survive and thrive, the country needs patriotic and nationalistic leaders. Nigeria needs leaders with vision and commitments to implement a sustainable economic growth and development plan for the benefit of all Nigerians. Apart from the cry for great leadership in place, there is a great responsible for the people to as well to practically work towards the change they wish to see. It is easy to apportion blames but complains and sulking will do no good. All the people of this great nation need to arise and work towards restoring the hope of a great successful nation that was so widely expected that bright morning in October 1st ,1960. When he learnt that she was getting married to another man, he accepted it as the will of God and announced his contribution of 50 cattle for the wedding ceremony. “By offering 150 cattle for Hanan’s hand in marriage, I didn’t mean to show that I was wealthy, in fact I am nobodyI was not looking at the market value of the cattle, I was looking at the value of a cow to a Fulani man.It is easier for a Fulani man to give you one million naira than to give you his cow. This shows how much I value and love her”.He said . Abudllahi who had a flare for photography , was elated when he discovered that Pres. Buhari’s daughter, also loved the art. This caught his attention and he was nicknamed, Fulfulde phrase meaning “Hanan’s husband”. He said at first he didn’t know she was the President’s daughter until much later. His discovery didn’t prevent him for going after what his heart wanted . So, he made enquiries and even moved to Abuja in search of her. When his gate-crashing into venues of high-profile weddings and other events that attracted the wealthy and mighty in case Hanan was there taking pictures or sitting as a guest , didn’t work , he took to social media . He finally gave up when it was announced that Hanan was getting married. “It was very important for me to meet her and disclose my feelings, even if she would gather people to beat me up. Nothing would have made me happier than to marry her. I could have convinced her to accept me. If you love someone, she may not respond immediately, she may come to develop interest in you afterwards.
