Celebrities / Re: Timi Dakolo Beats Wife In Dancing. Excited Fans React by ham3(m): 7:25pm On Jan 25, 2019
I wish women in Nigeria realize the power they wield. According to world bank collection of indicators (2016), 49.34% of the over 170 million people of Nigeria are females. While men (my self included) wallow in ego; imagine if women decide to cast votes for anything they want.
Imagine if women in Nigeria vote for Omoyele Sowore.

NYSC / An Open Letter To The Conscience Of Nigeria Celebrities And The Youths by ham3(m): 4:25pm On Dec 20, 2018
Dear Celebrities and youths of Nigeria,

Celebrities in Civilized countries do not fraternize with the government, as a matter of fact, you are seen as a THREAT, OUTCAST or SNITCH (the case of Kanye West) when you associate with the government.

Civilized and aware Celebrities see themselves for what they are, AGENTS FOR CHANGE who unite to pressurize the government to do what is right for the improved conditions of their fans.

Greed has changed the narrative in Nigeria. Our Celebrities are PONS of the government. They are used as agents of distraction, diverting the minds of young Nigerians from issues of governance.

As a reward for their PON role, when the government throws a party with our looted funds, you see the so-called Celebrities dancing Shaku Shaku to those events to collect their own piece of the national cake, for a job well done.

The minds of young Nigerians have now been programmed to crave the next trending thing, instead of focusing on the present reality which is that we are the world's poorest country yet the country with the highest paid senators.

The sad truth is that our Celebrities do not realize what their role should be (AGENTS FOR CHANGE) as opposed what the government uses them for PONS.

Let us face it despite the fact that all of them were saying END SARS what happened? Nothing, because the government sees them as a joke. Shame! 9ja Celebrities, Shame!

Nigeria youths, the time has come to make our Celebrities accountable for their actions. The government called us lazy and the Celebrities did nothing. They are responsible for our current situation, they collected monies and deceived us into voting APC.

Let us unfollow any Nigeria celebrity who is not talking about electing a Young person for president. Note, the person must be younger than the country.

NIGERIA CELEBRITIES, You all are too much to mention but you know yourselves. It is not too late to rewrite history, you can make the government accord you your respect. The time is now, we can still #takeitback. Understand this, your economy is not dependent on the government but on us your loyal fans. Help make Nigeria a better place for us. Let us vote out APC and PDP there are young capable presidential aspirants like Sowore and the rest.

I am not sponsored, I am just a concerned Nigerian.

we can push this revolution

Health / Re: Factors Affecting Nursing Practice In The Public Settings by ham3(m): 9:49pm On Nov 18, 2015
heykims:

Chief, we are talking military rank here and not academic qualification. And if u are bringing that scenario to the public health sector, I doubt if a nurse can ever beat doctors to it in terms of academic qualifications. So if we are to consider attaining the most senior status here, it will be within d nursing community and not the entire health sector.
And if I may ask, doesn't it amuse u that a nurse has never attained such a feat in the US public health sector if really attaining the peak of her career is all it takes?

it baffles me that you are doubting the fact that a nurse can ever beat a doctor to it interms of academic qualifications as from your grammatical construction I can tell that you are educated thus when you are commenting on issues do so like some one who is educated.

what do you think is necessary for one to acquire before regarded as academically qualified, is it not more certifications?

sigh! little wonder it has been said that your stand point determines your view point.

Health / Emergency Tip To Save Your Life When Alone (self Administration Of CPR) by ham3(m): 5:06pm On Nov 03, 2015
Dear Nairalanders,
Please read this:-

1 Let’s say it’s 7.25pm and you’re going home
(alone of course) after an unusually hard day on the job.

2 You’re really tired, upset and frustrated.

3 Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to drag out into your arm and up in to your jaw. You are only about five km from the hospital nearest your home.

4 Unfortunately you don’t know if you’ll be able to make it that far.

5 You have been trained in CPR, but the guy that taught the course did not tell you how to perform it on yourself.

6 HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE?
Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only
about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.

7 However, these victims can help themselves by coughing
repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest.

A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two
seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until
the heart is felt to be beating normally again.

8 Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing
movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital.

9 Tell as many other people as possible about this. It could save their lives!!
Health / An Eye Opener To Nigerians On The Situation Of Nursing In Nigeria. by ham3(m): 8:34pm On Nov 02, 2015
Nursing and Midwifery is the backbone of all the health care institutions in Nigeria which constitute about 60% of its workforce but, over the past decades it has received less attention from its relevant stakeholders and policy makers which result to a complete stagnation of the profession. This have seriously impacted on the healthcare of Nigerian masses as well as the Nigeria health care system.
The changing trends in global health care practice makes it mandatory for urgent Reformation of the mode of training and practice of nursing and midwifery in Nigeria to meet the international base standard.
Nursing and Midwifery in Nigeria is facing multiple discrimination and injustice among the healthcare professionals not everyone knows that; 1. Nigeria Nurses are the only health professionals that its graduates are denied of the mandatory one year internship training which is designed to give health care professionals the opportunity to implement the theoretical work and adequately prepare for real community task of health care service.
2. Nurses are the only health professionals that receive 3years intensive training in school of nursing yet are awarded with a mere basic nursing certificate which has not been officially quantified to represent any qualification in civil service and further academic career.
3. Nursing is the only profession in Nigeria universities that require additional 4 years to get a degree after 3 years general nursing training instead of 12 to 18 months roll up program as it is done in other countries.
4. Nursing is the only profession that its graduates are placed on GL 07 post NYSC instead of GL09 in federal civil service as done for other professions like pharmacy, laboratory science and MBBS (which gets GL 10). 4. Nursing is the only health profession that is still trained in schools of nursing that are not affiliated to any university or college thereby denying its students the opportunity to experience the advance learning skills and recognitions.
5. Nursing is the only profession that its undergraduates are denied the opportunities of enjoying national scholarships and oversea sponsors like chevron, NNPC, and PTDF scholarships. 6. Nursing is the only profession that its specialist post basic training are not given any recognition in civil service or academic.
7. Nursing in Nigeria is faced with multiple policies which limits their scope of practice, and this poses a serious thread to millions of Nigerians living in rural areas where Drs are rarely found.
8. Nursing is the only cadre in federal civil service that have a controversial scheme of service discriminating between nursing qualification obtained from school of nursing and that of university.
For Nigeria to competently compete internationally in terms of healthcare delivery, it must strengthen the workforce of the healthcare system in other to; 1. Reduce the rate of mortality and morbidity 2. Reduce the healthcare cost as many will access healthcare service through well trained nurses where Drs cannot be accessed as it is done in other developed countries. 3. Attract international patronage of Nigeria healthcare as well as limit oversea travels in search of healthcare. 4. To meet millennium development goals.
Recommended actions;
1. Approve and implement mandatory interns for nursing graduates to prepare them adequately for the real task of healthcare delivery to Nigerian people. 2. Upgrade or Affiliate all nursing training institutions to colleges or universities to improve the standard of nursing training in Nigeria.
3. Review the university nursing curriculum and Provide a roll up program of 12 to 18 months for registered nurses and midwives to obtain Bsc in nursing in other to advance their skills to meet up with the changing trends and challenges in patients care as it is done in other countries. This will also give nurses the courage to advance their basic healthcare skills as well as their academic career.
4. Provide a specialist post graduate program in other advance specialised skills in various fields of nursing as it is done in other countries like US, UK, Australia etc
5. Review basic nursing curriculum and quantify the certificate to be officially recognised as HND program or reduce the syllables to cover 2 years training as diploma as done in other fields.
6. Review the policies and laws limiting the scope of nursing practice in Nigeria in other to give the Nigerian population the basic healthcare needs with a less cost as done in other developed countries.
7. Give graduate nurses their deserved emolument to encourage them maintain their passion for the profession. 8. Approve and implement a unified scheme of service for nursing graduates and Registered Nurses without discrimination.
With this, We are appealing to the President of Nigeria, his Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari, The Nursing and midwifery council of Nigeria, the Head of civil service of the federation, the federal ministry of health, the National Assembly, the national university commission, All schools of nursing in Nigeria and relevant stakeholder to jointly look into this and do the right thing for the nursing profession to grow to its destiny to give the consumers of healthcare the best they deserve.
