Ijaw : Engenni (Ahoada West) Okirka Degema Asari -Toru Andoni Ogu-Bolo Abua-Odual 1/2 of PHLGA Bonny Opobo Nkoro Pazienza this is exagerated. A single local government cannot be divided into two. They are one and fall to one group. Ahoada wEST are Ekpeye Port Harcourt is listed AS iKWERE |

pazienza: Igbo:
1. Oyigbo 2. Egbema (Mind you, the Igbo hate is beginning to creep in here too)
Etche :
1. Etche 2. Omuma
Ekpeye : 1 Ahoada East 2. 2/3 of Ahoada West (The 1/3 belongs to Engenni who presently present as Ijaw)
Ijaw : Engenni (Ahoada West) Okirka Degema Asari -Toru Andoni Ogu-Bolo Abua-Odual 1/2 of PHLGA Bonny Opobo Nkoro
Ikwerre: Emohua Ikwerre OBALGA 1/2 of PHLGA
Ogoni. Khana Gokana Tai Eleme (Note that Eleme seek independence from Ogoni)
There is no doubt that Ijaw are the majority in Rivers state. Note that all the communities I listed as Ijaw all have their apex sociocultural organizations represented in both IYC and INC. Wat language is spoken in Bonny and Opobo? The last time i checked it was Igbo. The people are also Igbo that were left behind during the transatlantic slave trade. Yeah Ijaws joined them on the island and they are mixed. So I wouldn't place Bonny and Opobo as Ijaw. I place dem as distinct group, on their own. Andoni are also another mixed group even with Akwa Ibom origin. Port Harcourt is one local government and falls under Ikwere. Let us be realistic with this divide. |

pazienza: They are opportunists. In Rivers state where they have numbers, they tell you straight to your face that they are not Igbos, and they show you standoffish attitudes.
In outside Rivers state where they lack in numbers, where they reason they could benefit by preying on the emotional sentiments of Igbos. They will suddenly claim to be Igbos and attach to the Igbo bodies in their location, for social security and other benefits.
It's not laughable. It's serious. We must baracade them and make sure they can at no point be Igbo. That's how we restore our pride and past glorly. Igbo ethnic group tag must not be something one can toy with as and when they like.
You know fully well these lots are not Igbos, but just opportunistic confused Bini people. If you admit them into Igbo fold. Tomorrow when the Igbo are to benefit from something politically, Nigerians knowing that these lots have no real affinity to Igbo and does not truly share in our group agenda, would prefer to hand them Igbo slots, while cunningly telling us that they had given the slot to an Igbo man, these are like fifth columnists. They weaken us, and outsiders know it. The earlier we purged them permanently from our system, the better for us as a group. We must sought out Igbo marriage arrangement. Alot of our people are single becos we have no arrangement since after Biafra war that our grandfathers had. We cannot marry ugly afonja and be calling ikwere our brothers. We have to marry our own. |

pazienza: The Obi of Onitsha and all official Onitsha groups represent as Igbos. Stop comparing apples and oranges here. But they also claim to be from Bini or Idu. The point here, is we need to put our house in order. Alot of this problem exist becos we allow it. We need to be firm and resolute, and stake our claim to things that belong to us. Enough of all this confusion that we create. |

pazienza: Lol! One or two people claiming Igbo from there means nothing. You should be asking what their official bodies claim. See this:
"Head of Ikwerre Cultural Organisation, Worldwide, Chief Agbaru Ogbakor, who gave credence to this in a narration of the history of the place and its people said: “Ikwerre is one of the ethnic nationalities that make up the many Nation-States that were amalgamated by Lord Luggard in 1914 to form what we have today as Nigeria. They have their identifiable and distinct culture, tradition and language" If it is the bini thing, which actually refers to a place formerly called Idu, then Onitsha people are also involved. The truth is this issue will be resolved by marriage with the Ikwere. This is y, i am against the way igbo just marry anyhow and be saying Nigeria. They are treating marriage the way they treat their investment, in areas that they will one day be asked to leave. Let us start thinking home first and build our place first. Our marriages should be targeted to unite our people. That is wat marriage are their for, to unite and continuation of your people culture and identity. |
