THE LAST TIME THIS ANIOMA MAN COMMITED KILLS IN NIGERIA.

EVEN THE WHITE MAN THAT INTERVIEWED HIM, PRONOUNCED HIS NAME LIKE AN IGBO MAN.

SO EVERYBODY IS CLEAR ON HIS ETHNICITY.

THEY CALLED HIS ACTION AN IGBO COUP.

IGBOS WERE SLAUGHTERED UP AND DOWN NIGERIA FOR 4 YEARS.

NOBODY WILL EVER HENCE FORTH, ANSWER OUR NAMES AND SPEAK OUR LANGUAGE THEN SAY THEY ARE NOT IGBO, IT IS NOT ACCEPTED BY US.

Ikwerre, Etche, Ekpeye and Ogba are not Igbos.
These people are opportunists and resents you as an Igbo more than they do Yorubas and Hausas.
I know it's painful, but it's the truth. Accept it, make peace with it, learn from it, let the pain serve as a motivation to make Igbo great.

I stand for Igbo Unity (SE plus Umuezekhoha and whatever is remaining of Enuani who are still comfortable with their Igbo identity and have no Igbophobia, if with time they all turn Igbophobic, then we must discard them too).

The Igbo is sick and dying because we have too many necrotic tissues (Opportunists ) attached to us.
We need to totally excise all the dead tissues attached to us, so that we can heal and grow once again.
It's about time we started this important project.
I still stand for Igbo unity. Ikwerre, Etche, Ekpeye Ogba and what other Igboid out there that is not comfortable with being Igbo ARE not Igbos.
Anyone thinking of allowing those opportunists to continue taking advantage of Ndiigbo, by classifying them as Igbos is not a friend of Ndiigbo.
WE HAVE ADDED DEM TO IGBO AND SO SHALL IT REMAIN.

ANYBODY THAT ANSWER OUR NAMES AND SPEAK OUR LANGUAGE IS IGBO.

GO AND TELL DEM TO DROP OUR NAMES AND LANGUAGE FIRST, THEN WE WILL DROP THEM AS IGBO.

I BELIEVE THIS IS A FAIR BARGAIN.

Ikwerre remain Igbos until they stop speaking Igbo and stop bearing Igbo names. They should start to speak Bini and bear Bini names.

When they commit crime with their Igbo names, others will call Igbos bad names without knowing if person is Ikwerre, ika or Igbanke.
ALL THIS IKA AND IKWERE PEOPLE ANSWERING IGBO NAMES WILL COMMIT CRIME AND YORUBA AND HAUSA WILL SAY IT IS IGBO.

Akan is the name of their ethnicity. There are truths such that there are some similar words in both languages. And also the language structure is very similar. Wow, i actually dismissed this and could not wait to leave, wen he was saying it.

The Ikwerre were active collaborators to the Ijaws, go and ask well. A good number of Ikwerre people benefited from that policy, and they were happy with the whole event.

Stop painting the Ijaws as villains. They didn't do anything that Ikwerres were not in support of.
It was some Ikwerres sons who led the FG forces to capture Biafran soldiers, Oriji played active role, likewise Elechi Amadi.
It was Ikwerres who requested to be part of Rivers state with Ijaws right after the war, Oriji led that agitation too.

We can't continue living in delusions, no group ever progressed by lying to themselves. It's 50yrs since after the war already.
The Igboids were active partners to the Ijaws, it was a partnership built on Igbophobia that was always going to collapse once the Igbos were out of the picture.

I don't know who did this thing to Ndiigbo. But I'm going to try to jolt us back to our senses.

You are still making the same mistake.

1) You can NOT determine who is an Igbo and who shouldn't be Igbo.

Igbos are those who accept to be Igbos (irregardless of their ancestries or historical extistence).

Non-Igbos are those who refuse to embrace the Igbo tag.

Every group decide where they want to belong.

2) Ethnic groups are NOT constant, they change with TIME.

Yorubas, Hausa and Igbos as we know them today are created by the BRITISH colonial Masters who categorized tribes/clan that they (the British) think are similar in ancestries, culture or already under common political authorities /influence (e.g The Oyo Empire and the Sokoto Caliphate).

Any group that like the category can stay and stick to it. Those who aren't comfortable with it can opt out.

Argue who is whatever but you need to stop revising history. Ikwerre were not instigators of the abandoned property saga. At the creation of Rivers in '67 Ikwerre were not a dominant force. The Ijoid groups held sway in the new Rivers State and with the support of federal forces snatched properties from their owners. Very lazy bunch. The Ijoid people lay the foundation for the thriving anti-Igbo sentiment in the state and to get a hold of power in the State the Igboid groups started playing the same game.

PoliticsRe: I Didnt Know Gov Nyesom Wike Is Of Igbo Descent by hammer0: 5:03pm On Mar 26, 2020

You should know there is a tacit policy among Igbo neigbours that that makes Igbo denial a pre requisite for fair and peaceful coexistence with them. These our neigbours love everything about Igbo but they hate the unique sense of "exclusivism" and unity which comes with the Igbo identity. This makes it impossible for them to relate with Igbos as equals except they put their immediate Igbo neighbours under pressure to disconnect from the Igbo fold(Igbophobia). This is why urhobo is more comfortable if Ikaman says He is not Igbo, Ijaw and ogoni feel threatened when any ikwerre person says he is Igbo. For a British backed Fulani government that wants to fully control the resources of the area, this attitude of the minority present a perfect opportunity. They have structured states in south south in such a way that will encourage this Igbophobia, making it even more difficult for an Igbo in those places to identify as one. imagine Edwin Clark telling odili he is from Anambra and not from rivers and can't take south south slot but same Clark, with saro wiwa, encouraged Ikwere to disconnect from the Igbo fold and join rivers state. I guess wike is slowly realizing that.

As for your. Onitsha claims, we go by your definition then I'll not be wrong to say you're confused. Onitsha represent as you said cos they are in Anambra. A lot of Onitsha people also say nwa onyigbo, except they have changed, they won't behave differently if they found themselves in ikwerre position in 1967, a lot of oguta people too. Generally people who are considered lazy will have this inferiority complex. They exhibit resentment towards more competitive people and wouldn't mind denying them when given the opportunity. But then, if you exclude industrious people in your land, it won't develop. The reason they were able to take economic control of your land is the same reason you won't succeed if you chase them from your land. The only way out is work hard and develop your land or leave more gifted entrepreneurs to operate in peace.

My point is inferiority already exists among our neighbours, British backed Fulani regime exploited it by creating political structures which encouraged it, thereby dividing the entire region for political gain- an action no one in the area benefit from.

The only way to unite our people is to dismantle the Fulani political structure in the eastern region, create a better organized one as KANU propose.

Ranting against SS Igbo's as you're doing will do you no good. You'll end up cutting you nose just to spite your face.

Nwanne, I understand you are a Biafran war veteran and look at these issues from pre 1970 perspective.
Mana nwanne, things have since changed in these communities since after the war.

Etche and Omuma presently don't identify as Igbo, likewise Ekpeye, Opobo and Bonny.

When I was in Eleme, when I listened to them speak, I felt like there is Igbo somehow mixed in their language, Eben though I couldn't understand a thing.
I'm surprised about your Eleme assertion, linguists classify their language as Ogoni dialect, so I think they are originally Ogoni people who mixed with Igbos and Ijaws.

Are you sure about Ogbia? Their language is not related by any means to Ekpeye language. Unless you are talking about Ogbia being related to the Engenni who share Ahoada West LGA with Ekpeyes.

A lot have changed in the defunct Eastern region, and after 50years of living in the past, I personally feel it's time Ndiigbo embraced the current reality and cut ties with those groups who no longer wish to identify with us. We cut the ties and make sure no one from those groups can at any point or instance be allowed to identify as Igbo.
Then we relate with them like we relate with the rest of Nigeria.

What do you think, nnekwu mmadu?
Defeatist attitude!

Wen was the last time Igbo acknowledge Bonny and Opobo as Igbo speaking people and invited them to Ohanaeze Ndiigbo?

It is the same the world over.

Ahoada west is made-up of Engenni and Ekpeye.
Ekpeye own the whole of Ahoada East but share Ahoada West with Engenni.
You know Burna boy the musician is from Engenni. Engenni are Edoid speaking and have history of migration from Bini to back it. But are today politically aligned with the Ijaw ethnic nationality and proudly claim to be Ijaws. Their political and traditional leaders are all members of IYC and INC.

Let me tell you. Ijaw ethnic nationality is not really about shared language. The Andoni,Udekeme, Epie/Atissa, Ogbia people don't speak Ijoid languages, let alone Ijaw language, but they are proudly Ijaws and align politically with INC regional and national agenda. That's how it is.

Opobo and Bonny might be Igbo speaking, but they are also Ibani (Ijoid language) speaking, and most importantly, they are fully aligned with the INC (Ijaw National Council) ethnic agenda.

If you admit such people into Igbo gatherings, you are only introducing moles and fifth columnists , as their allegiance obviously lie towards Yenegoa and not Enugu.
Why would you even want to have such a people in our Igbo gathering. Do you seem not to understand what ethnic nationality/group politics is all about?
I think we may be misunderstanding the NigerDelta union to be something cultural.

These people all speak different language but have subscribe to the Nigerdelta union.

They do live in a different region called SS, as opposed to Igbo SE.

I think it is time to call a spade a spade.

Do they speak Ijaw? If no, then they are not Ijaw.

This is the samething we are saying with the Ikwere.

Ethnicity is not a matter of choice but a matter of facts.
