The so called unofficial zoning is between North and South. Alex Ekwueme contested PDP primaries with Obasanjo in 1999. Igbos did not just leave the Presidency for Obasanjo. Obasanjo without Yorubas backing defeated all the machineries that the Igbo nation deployed against the prodigal Yoruba son called Obasanjo. Don't be unfortunate by posting lies
YORUBA HAVE HAD THEIR TURN.

8 YEARS, PRESIDENCY

8 YEARS VP.

MetaPhysical:
Selection used to suffice just on Gentleman's word and handshake. You Igbos defaulted in 2014.

The Gentleman's handshake in 2011 was to allow the statutory successor to YarAdua...Goodluck Jonathan, complete the term of that Administration. In 2015 after expiration of his mandate he will step aside for North to complete 8yrs and then rotate it back to South.

Before the PDP primary Atiku was a strong contender. Igbos told PDP that Jonathan must go for second term. Obasanjo came out and warned that the agreement was for North to present candidate in 2015. Makarfi, Babagana, Lamido....all were very upset by the shift. Also, many Governors were angered by the division in the Governors forum of PDP and Jonathan's support for one faction over the other. All this coincided with preparation for party primaries in 2014 and election in 2015. The Governors formed what is called nPDP. They defected to APC. At the primaries Igbos backed Jonathan against Northern contenders making him the PDP flag bearer and thus, substantially, violating the Gentlemen's agreement of 2011.

This angered Atiku and he defected to join APC shortly before its Primary. He lost that primary to Buhari. This event repeated itself in 2018. He hoped to get APC flag but was told Buhari is returning for second term. This pushed him again to return to PDP. APC does not base its politics on Gentleman's handshake...its all about two things only...

1. Political value of the contestants in Primary.

2. The number forecasts for political victory.

So, to your point, APC is all about competition. You have to prove the two points above to get the flag. Not only must a President win his election he must also win elections for tickets at Federal, State and Local govts.

In PDP, do they still have selection based on Gentleman's handshake? I doubt it! Igbo ruined that structure in 2015 already.
KEEP IT UP, U WILL BE LEFT ALONE WITH THE NORTH SHORTLY TO ENJOY YOUR NIGERIA.

THIS, I HAVE AUTHORITATIVE SOURCE ABOUT.

DAT IS VERY GOOD, BECAUSE THE SS/SE IS READY AND WILLING TO SUPPORT NORTHERN PRESIDENCY 2023 AND BEYOND.

IN FACT, LET THE NORTH RULE NIGERIA TO THE END.

WE MUST SURELY ALWAYS NOW HAVE A NORTHERN PRESIDENT FOR AT LEAST 100 YEARS.

SW THREATENING, I HOPE U HAVE GOT THE MESSAGE NOW, BECOS THE LAST TIME WAS A WARNING THREAT TO EL RUFAI AND BLACKMAILING BUHARI.
Politics › Re: Igbo Presidency 2023 - Your Thoughts by hammerT: 3:22pm On Oct 19, 2019
IF SW PRESENT A CANDIDATE, SE WILL GO FOR VP AND LET THE NORTH PRESENT THE CANDIDATE IN PDP.

THIS IS WAT IS MOST LIKELY TO HAPPEN.

IN 1999, BOTH PARTIES PRESENTED A SW CANDIDATE. (OBANSANJO V OLU FALAE)

IN 2019, BOTH PARTIES PRESENTED A NORTHERN CANDIDATE. (BUHARI V ATIKU)

IF IT IS ZONING, THEN BOTH APC AND PDP SHOULD PRESENT A SE CANDIDATE OF THEIR CHOICE in 2023.

IF NIGERIA IS FOR ALL OF US AND THE SE IS STILL WANTED IN NIGERIA.

FFK TELL THE YORUBA TO REMEMBER WAT ZONING MEANT IN 1999 (OLU FALAE V OBASANJO,) AND ALLOW THE IGBOS HAVE THEIR TURN IN PEACE.

IN 2019, BOTH APC AND PDP FIELDED A NORTHERN FULANI CANDIDATE. (BUHARI V ATIKU)

2023, WE EXPECT BOTH CANDIDATES OF APC AND PDP TO BE FROM SE, IN THE INTEREST AND SPIRIT OF ZONING.

THEY EVEN WANTED TO RUN AGAINST THE SW, SAYING THEY WILL ONLY STEP DOWN IF THE POSITION WAS OFFERED TO THE SE.

Stop indulging yourself in crass scaremongery and hallucinations...

The Igbos having been participating in the electoral process since Nigeria emerged:casting votes for candidates from virtually all parts of the country.

If not for your terrible narrow-mindedness, you would have seen that Nigeria is beyond a slavish devotion to Buhari who has less than four years to exit the stage.

The Igbos should be lionized to repudiating Buhari and his brand of divisive politics.

Let history vindicate the just...
I HAVE TOLD MY IGBO BROTHERS THAT HAUSA ARE NEVER THE PROBLEM IN NIGERIA.

WAT YORUBA MOD DOES IS TO HIDE ALL THE EVIDENCE I POST OF HAUSA BEING GENUINE AND CONSIDERATE.

ON THIS FORUM, I HAVE SAID IT COUNTLESS TIMES, THAT I RATHER SHARE COUNTRY WITH HAUSA THAN YORUBA.

I HAVE NEVER STOP SAYING.

THIS THREAD IS POSSIBLE BECOS OF ANOTHER HAUSA MAN WITH A CONSCIENCE THAT WENT AS FAR AS SAYING IGBO PRESIDENCY IS NOT A PRIVILEGE BUT A RIGHT.

CAN WE IGBOS TRY TO KEEP NOTE OF THIS?

backbone503:
In 2023, if APC presents a SW presidential candidate, PDP will win. All that'll be required of PDP will be to choose formidable VP from the North.

Note: in the SW, its always been APC/PDP: 60/40. SS and SE: 80/20 and 95/5 respectively. NC: ~60/40. The battle ground will then shift to the North.
jacksonkennedy:
I strongly believe the Igbos would be best served demanding the PDP ticket instead of playing the spoiler like our people did against GEJ in 2015

The reason is because PDP is a strong party that can win the centre and APC would most likely concede their ticket to us.

So if APC presents say Osinbajo, PDP can present say umahi. APC can choose ElRufai as VP while PDP choose Tambulwal.

Anything can happen
IF SW PRESENT A CANDIDATE, SE WILL GO FOR VP AND LET THE NORTH PRESENT THE CANDIDATE IN PDP.

As I read through all ur comments, I can easily detect the hatred of the Yoruba man for the IBO's. The IBO man must wise up and know who their real enemy's are! The IBO's should know that the Yoruba man are his real enemy not even the north east and west.

As for the office of the president, the IBO's have a better chance as of today than the Yoruba's come 2023. All that we the south south need from them, is unit among themselves, they have our 100% support. Ask an average mid beltan he/she is in support of IBO presidency come 2023, the only people that think differently are the Yoruba's.

No IBO president 2023, no sourthern president . Let it remain in the north beyond 2023. Yoruba keep demonstrating their greediness on social media
FUNNY ENOUGH, THE NORTH ARE NOW PUSHING YORUBA FORWARD, AS DEFAULT TO ENABLE NORTH CLAIM THE PRESIDENCY.

THEY KNOW THE SCRIPT AND HOW TO PLAY IT WELL.

I THINK YORUBA MUSLIM WERE DELIBRATELY LEFT IN THE SOUTH FOR THE NORTH ADVANTAGE.
