more seriously tho...this would help them set up a different company for each of the google businesses and also to report on the financials independently.
also its not actually rebranding per se. Google is staying the same. They are just turning the current Google into a conglomerate so that their subsidiaries can operate without the "Google" logo if they aren't actually related to Google's technology.
Then from SKYNET to UMBRELLA CORPORATION grin

PoliticsBritain Reaffirms Support For Nigeria’s Counter-insurgency Operation by handyteddy(op): 7:21pm On Aug 07, 2015
The British government has reaffirmed its commitment to help Nigeria end the menace of insurgency that has ravaged parts of the North East, a top British official, has said.
A statement issued by the Acting Director of Defence Information, Col. Rabe Abubakar, said that the assurance was given by the British Deputy Chief of Defence Staff on Military Strategy and Operations, Lt. Gen. Gordon Messenger.

It said the top British military official gave the assurance while on a courtesy visit to the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Maj. Gen. Gabriel Olonisakin, in Abuja on Thursday.
It quoted the British general as outlining the areas of assistance to include capacity building on how to crush the dreaded militant group and other logistics support.

“The essence of this visit is to broaden the deep relationship and re-energise bilateral cooperation between Nigeria and Britain,’’ the statement quoted the visiting British general as saying.

Messenger said that efforts would be made to identify other key areas of need by the Nigerian Armed Forces for appropriate actions to be taken.

It said that the CDS, while acknowledging the concerns of Britain, especially in ensuring that Nigeria defeated Boko Haram in the quickest possible time, briefed his guests about the efforts adopted by the new military command
to liquidate the insurgents and their cells.

The statement said that Olonisakin attributed the successes recorded to the renewed vigour by troops to end the insurgency, government’s renewed determination as well as the various measures adopted.

He assured the visiting British team that the Nigerian military would justify the confidence the international community had in it by ending the reign of terror “as soon as possible”.

CrimePastor Rapes 13-year-old Girl During Night Vigil In Anambra by handyteddy(op): 6:49pm On Aug 07, 2015
A pastor with a new generation pentecostal church located along Port Harcourt Road in Onitsha, Anambra State, identified as Nzube Ohuama, has been arrested after he allegedly raped a 13-year-old girl during a vigil night programme organised by the church.

The young victim had gone with her parents to the church for the monthly vigil when the pastor lured her into a private room attached to the church and raped her.

It was also reported that Ohuama had earlier prophesied to the girl’s parents three days before the incident that she had an evil spirit that was tormenting her and he had to conduct a special prayer for her at the programme.

The pastor, according to information, had further warned the parents of the girl that if the evil spirit tormenting the girl was not exorcised, a lot of harm would continue dogging them, so they had given him the go ahead to deliver her of the foul spirit but instead of doing what he promised, he ended up defiling her.

It was gathered that at about 1 am when the vigil was in full swing, the pastor called out the girl and told the congregation that he had a special assignment he needed to carry out on her alone and took her to the private room.

It was while he was at it that the girl’s sister walked to the pastor’s office and was surprised to hear her sister crying in pains.

When the girl finally came out, she had blood stains on her and the sister pressured her into telling what Pastor Ohuama did to her.

They reported the rape to their parents who lodged a complaint at the Fegge Police Station and Pastor Ohuama was promptly arrested.

RomanceWarning Guys: 10 Types Of Woman You Should Never Marry by handyteddy(op): 4:36pm On Aug 07, 2015
While we can all agree that nobody is perfect, there are actually a few things that would adversely affect a relationship if a man chooses to partner with a woman with some not-so-great attributes.

1. The Bitter Woman: You know that woman that always seems to be angry at the menfolk all the time? Perhaps she has had her heart broken one too many times, but this woman is always bashing on men and talking about how they are no-good or useless. A man might not want to settle down with someone so bitter as it is guaranteed that when the opportunity arises, she would hurl hurtful insults and intense, hateful words his way due to all her unresolved anger.

2. The Selfish Woman: If you want a happy home and a partner that wants your happiness as well as hers, then you should steer clear of the selfish woman. A woman who is determined to make sure she always comes first would not be able to build a cheerful and loving home with you.

3. The Materialistic Woman: A woman obsessed with material things would certainly not make the best wife. If all she cares about are material possession over family, faith and spiritual fulfillment, then she will not make the best partner.

4. The Flirty Woman: Are you attracted to that woman that always seems to flirt with one person or another? She flirts like a butterfly from one man to another and makes all men feel like she is interested in them. Well, beware, because a habit like that might be hard to break after marriage and you would not want to start hearing that your wife has had flirty conversations with all the men in the neighbourhood.

5. The Party Freak: She is invited to every party and attends them all. She is always dressed in the most flashy clothes and is the ultimate party girl. She lives for the next big gathering and cannot say no to an invitation. Such woman might not be the type to settle down in a marriage.

6. The Spoilt-Brat: A woman who grew up having everything handed to her and has never had the experience of actually working for something is unlikely to make the best wife. No matter how much you might be willing to provide her with the kind of lifestyle she grew up with, remember, marriage comes with kids and kids require sacrifice. If she has never had to work or make sacrifices for anything in her life, it is unlikely that she would start now.

7. The Attention Seeker: While some women naturally like attention, when it becomes an obsession, then it is not a good idea. A good husband makes sure he has time for his wife, but this cannot happen 100percent of the time so a good wife should understand that.

8. The Gossip: Does she always seem to never mind her own business? Is she always focused on what someone else is doing or how someone else is living their life? Then you do not need this kind of woman as a wife. A man needs someone that would build a home with him and this requires some focus on her own plans and her own life. If she is too busy minding someone else’s business, then you are fighting a losing battle.

9. The Commitment-Phobe: A woman who finds it difficult to commit to anything (school, jobs, family, friendship, etc) would also not be able to commit to a marriage. If she seems to lose interest in everything quickly and is always looking for the next thing to jump into, then you would have a hard time keeping her focused in her marriage.

10. The Disrespectful Woman: If she seems to always be disrespectful and rude (even if it is to people she considers beneath her standards) then you need to think twice about marrying her. Respect for a fellow human being is a very important attribute in who we choose to spend the rest of our lives with so it is definitely not something that should be taken lightly.

Head of Forestry unit of Yamaltu/Deba Local
Governmen Council in Gombe on Thursday
confirmed the killing of a notorious
Hippopotamus in Dadinkowa dam that had been
terrorizing the community for the past two years
and had killed five people.

He told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in
Gombe on Thursday that the bulky animal, apart
from terrorizing people, had also been destroying
crops and fishing facilities of fishermen in the
area.

“We discovered it about two and half years ago,
but unfortunately, it has become very notorious
and dangerous to people.

“The community wrote to the local government
council, complaining about the threat of the
animal and we forwarded same to the Ministry of
Environment, seeking the approval of the
Governor to take action.

"We received the approval last week, and decided
to go hunting for it, an exercise that took us one
week before the animal was finally spotted
yesterday night.

“We were lucky to trap it outside; we used military
men to shoot it, with the help of the local hunters.
“We shot it yesterday night around 10:30 pm
when it came out to eat grasses, and today we
butchered it in to pieces.”

According to him, there are about 100 of them in
the water, but the one that was killed had been
crossing to the lower side of the dam and causing
havoc.

Speaking to the NAN, Mr Adamu Pukuma,
Permanent Secretary, Gombe State Ministry of
Environment and Forest Resources, said
hippopotamuses are among the animals that
were endangered and going instinct.

“We have been protecting them but the particular
one that was killed was notorious.
“It killed people around the area, as well as
destroyed crops and fishing equipment.

“There were complaints from the people and that
was why we sought for the approval of the
Governor to protect life and property.”
Leader of Fishermen in Dadinkowa, Malam Sa’adu
Sarkinruwa, told NAN that the hippopotamus
killed no fewer than five persons in the
community in the past two and half years.
NAN reports that after killing the animal, its meat
was shared among those that actively
participated in hunting it down.

PoliticsBuhari Wants Defence Ministry To Produce Weapons by handyteddy(op): 3:34pm On Aug 07, 2015
President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday directed the Ministry of Defence to produce a plan for the establishment of a military industrial complex for the local production of weapons for the use of the nation’s armed forces. According to a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, the President gave the directive at the graduation ceremony of the National Defence College, Abuja. He said the location production of weapons was meant to end the current over-dependence on other countries for military equipment and logistics. He said such a thing was not acceptable to his administration. “We must evolve viable mechanisms for near-self- sufficiency in military equipment and logistics production complemented only by very advanced foreign technologies. “The Ministry of Defence is being tasked to draw up clear and measurable outlines for development of a modest military industrial complex for Nigeria. “In this regard, it is to liaise with other strategic MDAs and industries to re-engineer the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria to meet national military hardware and logistics requirements,” the President was quoted as saying. Buhari was said to have also told the gathering that his administration had, since its assumption of office, reviewed the nature and character of Nigeria’s security threats and challenges. “We recognised first and foremost, the external dimensions of these threats and the need for international cooperation and common security mechanisms to tackle them,” the President said. Buhari added that in the light of this realisation, his administration was convinced that the best approach was to work within the framework of the Lake Chad Basin Commission to mobilise a collective regional effort in the fight against terrorism and insurgency. He urged the graduates and officers and men of the Armed Forces to work harder to win the war against Boko Haram, terrorism and insurgency. “We must apply a comprehensive strategy and coordinate all elements of national power against terrorism and insurgency; we must show result- oriented leadership at all levels of military Command; we must set up an optimal organisation to manage and sustain operational performance; and we must show confidence and winning mentality,” he added. The President assured the people that the Federal Government under his leadership will strive to meet the operational, logistic, training and welfare requirements of the Armed Forces of Nigeria. He also reaffirmed his commitment to ameliorating the hardships of people living in areas most affected by insurgency and terrorism. “We have the will, resolve and conviction to apply a comprehensive strategy and coordinate all elements of national power against terrorism and insurgency,” the President reassured Nigerians and the international community. Buhari said the National Defence College had fulfilled the vision of its founding fathers, by becoming a strategic human capacity-building institution, making credible contributions to Nigeria and other friendly countries. The President urged graduates of the College’s Course 23 to resolve to make “a marked difference in your future deployments and contribute your quota to the evolution and implementation of national security, defence and military strategies.” “You should be the source that lights up the environment wherever you find yourselves,” he told them.
