A bungalow house in Eket, Akwa ibom state collapsed in the early hours of today due to heavy rain fall. The house was built close to a very large canal.

My brother there is the hard way and there is the high way. The high way is to do crime, simple and short, but it will always lead to disaster. The hard way is to humble yourself, be bold, start small, commit to a minimalist lifestyle and look up to GOD. There will always be the house of some rich person that needs cleaning. There will always be working class folks that need to do laundry. There will always be tutorial centers that need to do advertisement like pasting posters and distributing fliers. There are people doing house construction who need people to monitor their project. Walk into eateries and ask to help with doing dishes and cooking. Keep going until you find something doing. Spend only on the necessaries. Keep your eyes open to learn, seize opportunities when they show up and above all draw nigh to GOD in prayers and do unto others what you expect GOD to do unto you.

Have never for once thought of doing crime cause I was brought up in a Christian home.......I'll rather do menial jobs, but the jobs aren't just available atm. Still looking up to God as am not relenting on my job search. Thanks

On the trade issue, I learned catering but the complete the program due to some financial probs from my sponsor.

Hope to resume next year after gathering enough money cos it entails lot of practicals.

Ask your school for a signed letter head paper to that effect. Since their staff was responsible for the mis-information, they have a responsibility to do that for you.

But, if no paper works or documentation was done earlier (means culinary school is fancy word ). But that or a call from her should put your sponsor's heart at ease.

Good evening Nl's......I don't know which section to place this, pls mods kindly move to the right place thanks. This stuff as been bothering me since. Am been sponsored to a culinary school, of which when I paid my fees the lady in charge didn't explain things to me properly or maybe I didn't hear her correctly. I asked if the fees am paying was for the year, she said yes. Fast forward to the next term, my sponsor asked me if was going to pay any fees I said no that the first fee covered the whole year. During our exams this second term, I was shocked when the principal called me to her office telling me have not paid my fees, I told politely Ma I don't understand that the lady told me the fees I paid earlier covered the whole year. She said it only covered my first term, meanwhile this lady in question does not work in the school again. My question now is how do I tell my sponsor that I'll have to pay another fees because she currently works far from my state, I would have told her to visit the principal herself. Thank you
N.B
My sponsor does not trust me that much, she might think am trying to use the money for myself.
And telling her to call the principal is also not an option as she might feel I arranged someone to talk to her.

He didn't do anything to get rich, he got employed by a very big firm earning roughly more than a million monthly.

He sets u up with whatever you want to do so you don't disturb him with cash issues every time. Most of us have something doing courtesy of him. He opened a laundry and barber's shop for two of my nigga, collected a tricycle on hire purchase for another nigga......the guy has touched so many lives in the hood. God will continue to bless him for us.

Sincerely speaking, there's no question in this cos you already said it all.... There's a popular Yoruba proverbs which says "Olowo Kan lanrin otoshi mefa, otoshi meje ni gbo gbo won"... Meaning " A single rich man amongst six other poor men is simply equal to seven poor men"... Aside from the fact that they would hate on you and say a lot of sh*t about you due to envy or jealousy, you will never experience growth even if you decides to neglect or ignore their excessive demand, cos there won't be a ready environment that can aid your progress considering the kind of rural area you noted up there...


The best you can do is remain in the city where your progress is certain and subsequently bring in the one you can trust one after the other and teach them how to fish so they too can reciprocate same to the remaining ones till it goes round. After some time if there's is a good number of successful individual, you all can then go back home to establish something that can also better the lives of those who were unable to leave, by this time, it will be a lesser burden cos it's a joint project...The choice to stay back will by this time be free as their won't be a big gap of difference to going back to the city...

In all, no one has the right to show an entitlement mentality towards another but at the same time, we are also responsible to our immediate environment in one way or the other, so we just have to do the best we can and leave the rest to nature.... Wealthy or not, make sure you try to make a positive impact wherever you find yourself.... Live and let others live...

What a friend of mine did was move out of the area so as to be on the same level with his new found friends/colleagues. Although we were no longer on the same level, he never for once downgraded or neglected his childhood friends. He came to the hood more frequently just to hangout with us since he now had a car. Even though we were not on the same level, anytime he comes to the hood with his colleagues/friends he makes them see us like on the same level with them, and his friends too never downgraded us.

Most importantly there's no time you need his help financially he never disappoints, just let him know before time and make sure you using the money for something reasonable i.e he paid for my driving school, got me a driver's license, to cap it all got me a loan to get a car for Uber.

Till date there's no form of hatred or envy against him in the hood. But people differ though.
