Please phoenix mums, for those who have used or who are using legacy suites, are there rooms with twin beds? How much and also please how much does a two bedroom suite inclusive of tax cost? How much do cabs cost from the airport to the hotel? Does anyone have the phone numbers of good cab guys I can use during my stay? I will be arriving in two weeks and I feel these are things I should know, please help. Thanks a lot.
Update on my dollar hunt: for those who stay in Benin city, I was able to buy from fcmb @201.2 Naira to a dollar although they only agreed to give me 7000dollars (used my details and that of my husband). Please if unable to get more with my mum's details can I use first bank Dormicilliary card(has anyone heard of this?)gtb master card or fidelity visa or master card for pos transactions? Shey I won't be charged extra?
Plenty questions please nor vex, I always like to be sure. Thank you so much everyone. Please let's try to maintain the love on this thread by avoiding prolonged quarrels because this thread keeps a lot of us informed and relaxes our hormones. God bless you all |

Please help!!!! I am to leave Nigeria thru lagos on the 18th of next month for phoenix. I have been on dollar hunt for over a week now ( I live in Benin city). My banks: gtb and first bank said they don't sell. First bank advised me to buy the dollars to a dormicilliary card but I have never heard of this on this thread and I don't want surprises when I get there.
I was made to open an account with FCMB and till date, they claim they don't have dollars which wasn't what they told me b4 I agreed to open the account. I just got home now after visiting diamond bank (no dollars) then fidelity bank says I can only buy dollars a day b4 my trip(what if the exchange rate goes up,what if they run short of dollars?) I am so confused right now. Please can any one advise on which of these banks I can get?help with branches that always have in Benin or lagos, I don't mind leaving Benin on the 16th to enable me buy. I am so stressed out. Please help me out. Thanks |

MadameU: Please MIHS mum's, are there test I need to do from nigeria? Thanks alot
You may or may not, they would redo those tests anyway, but just so they have an idea you may take copies of tests, scans and a doctor's report. But most importantly your earliest scans are required. Thank you so so much |

Arisbel: Anyway I came with all my test and scan results from the very first day I registered for antenatal to the last day I left Nigeria. I gave it to them at MIHS upon request. Ok,thanks alot |

I guess it depends on what test they decide to run. February last year, I paid $180 for all the test and $250 for ultrasound. For cs, I paid some additional $700 to the $5400 or so but I know it was cheaper than the 6950 I was suppose to pay because the accounts lady I met said I spent just two days and not the usual 3days. |

Hi everyone. Please I need urgent help from phoenix mum's. I am wondering if it will be possible to pay my hospital bills with my master card and if there will be extra charges. I am due to arrive next month and with the current 222 to a dollar, I am thinking of buying from fcmb@200 for my mum,my husband and I then putting naira in my card for the hospital bill. Thanks |

Arisbel: One bedroom: For weekly you get $209/229, for monthly rate you get $729 ($961.49 tax inclusive plus you get refunded some money when leaving if the conditions of the room you stayed at is ok). And you pay with your credit card or money order not cash. Will get info for two bedrooms and send to you later except someone on this thread can help us or check previous posts.
Ok,thanks a lot. |

Nita2013: Extended Stay includes crossland and also d one at east oak. I don't av any info on legacy suits but heard many naija mamas r there presently. It's also far from d hospital from what I heard. Y I didn't suggest it to u cos u said u r avin twins so consider d stress too from Legacy Suite.
U can use google map to find out d distance from legacy suite to d hospital using bus and usin cab. But a mama that was goin to stay there changed her mind that cab fare to and from d hospital is about $60-$70 don't kno how true it is though.
But in all consider ur twins after birth cos u ll only use cab to avoid d stress. You are very correct, thank you so much my sister,i appreciate |

twizzie: @Happymum, I think Nita has answered you well. I stayed in Ocotillo and it is quite close to the hospital and airport... Monterra too is on the same road but It isn't furnished. I would advise you to do east Oak tho, its about 3 stops from Ocotillo as well but just opp some stores like burlington n Ross et al.Also, there's internet available (wifi) but in Ocotillo, you have to get yours..You will need to get kitchen utensils and maybe a tv in Ocotillo..The TV na small thing as you can get one in the goodwill store for one dollar.. Believe me, I got one bigggggg tv for a dollar.. I left it there when I was leaving.. Not sure about kitchen utensils in East oak tho..Most importantly, try and meet up with other nairalander mamas there.. They are lifesavers! Ok,thank you so much. I appreciate.lol@ $1 per tv |

Nita2013: If u want somewhere close to shopping center then extended. Stay east. Oak it is. It's almost adjacent to walmart, target, burlington etc so u ll just walk in. But for d big stores, it's far so u ll take a bus.
quote author=Happymum post=33494453] Thanks for your response. I doubt the driving aspect so I may have to use public transport at least until my husband arrives. Somewhere closer to shopping centers and restaurants is what I have in mind since I won't be going to the hospital daily but will love to always be able to do window shopping and occasionally real shopping. Thanks Waoh, thanks a lot! Just seeing this, you have answered all my questions. God bless you so much |

Nita2013: Hello Happymum, u can try Extended Stay east oak, Ocotillo apartments or Monterra. They r very close to d hospital and affordable. But for Ocotillo u av to rent some things eg TV et all. Monterra to d best of my knowledge is not furnished too but Extended stay eaast oak has got everything just like crossland.m crossland is a bit far from d hospital (I stayed in crossland) it's about 1hr from d hospital by bus but 15mins by cab but trust us naija women (we were up to 15 in Crossland at that time) we were usin bus for appointments but used cab mostly after delivery. Some still used bus after delivery too.
For things to carry pls do not carry yam. Like Tvegas said palm oil is prohibited as well. U can get big bottle of palm oil for $14. Anything containing chicken is prohibited eg chicken indomie, chicken Maggi etc though some pple her went in with them freely but For me I wud rather play by d rules to avoid any story. Cheers Thank you so much, I really appreciate. Just used the search button on this thread and it seems crossland is close to shops and all but nobody has mentioned anything about ESA. Please is it closer to shops than crossland?thanks alot |

aadeg: It depends on your budget and mode of transportation. If you will have/rent a car and drive (with an international driver's license), then distance may not be a factor. If not, cab costs can get expensive the farther away from the hospital/doctor/shops. Palm shadows is located closer to the hospital, but I'm not sure if they still enforce their max 2 person/room policy. Thanks for your response. I doubt the driving aspect so I may have to use public transport at least until my husband arrives. KayLayChi: from what I have read on this thread, i doubt if you will be allowed to take in yam, the beans has to be free of weavils, the crayfish should be grounded and dried and the palmoil should be frozen and wrapped very well. Ok,thanks alot |
