Family / Re: Things Your Fiancé/ husband Is Better Off Not Knowing. by Harmony10: 6:12pm On May 28, 2015
babyosisi:
What things should you keep

1. Things you know will shatter him emotionally
.for instance a woman,a friend's mom here was teaching me to cook native soup and told me some not so good things about my MIL,claiming she treated my FIL badly.I will be a fool to tell those things to my husband. The consequences will be far reaching so I will be taking that info, true or false to my grave.

2.Details of issues in your own birth family.
Believe me your hubby ain't telling you all of his
So don't go painting your siblings and parents in a terrible light. Some stories you must tell obviously but always leave some details that have to do with family integrity to yourself.Keep your parent's and family honor where necessary especially if you fear it may be used to taunt you as some immature men do.

3 your infidelity ..
This is a controversial one,I believe in faithfulness ,let me make that clear first of all.Women being emotional beings feel the guilt of infidelity more than men.It is wrong to cheat,I will not condone it and by Gods grace will never .However,if you happen to err as humans often do and are remorseful, repent and confess to your God and take that secret to your grave. Revealing it can be disastrous and will serve no purpose.Just go and sin no more .If you are a habitual cheat,of course you should seek divorce rather than living in deception.

The mistakes that a lot of people make about relationships is to generalize. That is my options. I think your actions and inactions in any relationships should depend on the two people involved. Human beings is the most difficult concept to study because of the dynamism to our life. So it is very difficult to guide and steer our lives based on catchy, straightforward Rules. We are usually poor when applying rules. A times we get it right. Other times we over apply the rules and therefore get it all wrong. One thing we leave concerning Rules is CIRCUMSTANCES. Circumstances makes some actions inappropriate. So basically, I believe that people should consider a lot of factors when making decisions about their relationship. These includes: The Persons of the two People, The ideals of the People, the way they have chosen to relate with each other etc. No two individuals are the same. Hence, No two Relationships can ever be the same. My Opinion!!!

Politics / Re: APC Reveals Transition Committee’s Terms Of Reference That Earned Buhari FG Rebu by Harmony10: 12:51pm On May 01, 2015
I have read several comments on this subject matter and, I am particularly pained seeing some comment.

In my opinion I do not see anything wrong:

- If a successor ask a Predecessor for advice/suggestion. That is the right and professional thing to do. If the latter is sincere about service to its people there shouldn't be any problem with that. The truth is the people (electorate) is the most important factor in this equation, not any of these politicians. We should not side any of our leaders to the point that we forget to be objective, reasonable, realistic.

The Electorate are the BOSS but we behave like the Servants. We should make our leaders answerable and accountable to us. We should make our leaders compete and confront (of fight if need be) themselves to please us. To achieve this we need 2 forget about our differences - like tribe, religion etc and see issues from the objective angle.

I support any move by incoming govt to ensure it perform it's civic duties to the letter. Success is a process and it shld not b truncated a the point of transition.

I like the way GMB have been addressing the outing Generation. He has not addressed GEJ has a failure but that PDP has failed in the last last 16years - which puts Obasanjo, Yar Adua and GEJ including the least of leaders in the party structure into the picture. BTW failure is not fatal it only means you didn't get it right due to factors such as experience&exposure, magnitude of challenges, availability of resources, ur starting point/background. If that is d case you take a bow and allow other people try their luck. This how to reason objectively.

The truth is if we want real changes in Nigeria, we need to act rightly esp our leaders. The Govt belongs 2 every1 of us, dos in govt are only representing us. Those in govt are not in their father's House rather in Govt. If they are in their FATHERS' HOUSE they can do wh@ dey LIKE but if they want to remain in GOVT HOUSE they must do wh@ is RIGHT

Abeg make we gather one voice to demand for just from our leaders!!!

Buhari said he will not contest again in 2011.

I don't think Buhari denied the fact that He said so. I don't know if Buhari said so or not but he did not deny that he said so. He only said his supporters made him contest because the clamored that he should contest.

Let's cultivate the habit of saying the truth regardless of opposition. Say the truth and put the devil to shame. You will know the truth and say/do the truth and d truth will set you free.

Family / Re: Photo: Fire Roasts 4 Children Of Same Parents To Death On Xmas Day In Anambra by Harmony10: 11:49am On Dec 28, 2014
okoyemike:
Its so painful that God just sat on the throne and allowed this to happen to a family, but I was taught not to question Him, I find it hard since it involved innocent kids...........#heartbroken#

For me (for the 4 kids, for all of us) to LIVE is JESUS CHRIST but to DIE (to leave this rotten and broken world) is GAIN...so says Apostle Paul. The way the Almighty, All-knowing God reason differs clearly and far higher than the way we humans reason...If God allows a tragedy of this magnitude, there must be a bigger picture somewhere in the heart of God. We need help most times for our small and limited brain to comprehend situations like this...

But the truth is, in the eyes of God, wh@ we humans call death has never been a tragedy...It is just a mere dispensing with our earthly body - the real deal to God is our soul and spirit which goes back to him when our body is done away with. He alone knows when enough is enough and the time to recall our soul and spirit to himself. That is why CHRIST said don't be afraid of those who can only destroy ur body but can do nothing to your soul, But FEAR him who has the power to destroy ur earthly body and then cast ur soul into hell.

Death to God is separation from Him, inability to communicate with Him and lose of one's Soul in Heal. Hence, to God a man can be alive on earth here yet He reckons him Dead man.

Anyway, we should sympathize with the parents and rest of the community being the ones who experienced tragedy not d kids nor God. May God grant the parents and whoever is touched the strength to bear the loss.

Romance / Re: Why Do Nice Guys Always Get Treated Badly? by Harmony10: 12:39am On Dec 22, 2014
Bimffo:
The reality is Ladies hate Nice guys..

I am not saying you should stop been nice, but if ur Nice level is on 80%, reduce it to 10% and see how it works..

Check out this moniker on Nairaland.. "CharlesNneji1" and get his books or E-books.. Mehn, it will help you alot.. You will be catching all those babes like Fish.. grin and they will swam around you like flies..

PS: Ladies will always be Ladies..

Oga I don't agree with your submission that ladies hate nice guys. It is one of the wrong assumptions/theories/beliefs around that make people (girls & guys) end up in bad relationships.

From my observations of the makeup/ form of ladies, they are designed to be led - to crave for an authority figure. No matter how tough a lady may seem, she can be led by a very simple, matured man. She will never feel strongly about you as a man if you can not handle situations - at least handle her with all her craziness. There are two basic way every man can lead any woman - through REAL LOVE or through BRUTAL FORCE. The problem is most men are not capable of REAL LOVE hence they resort to BRUTAL FORCE. But ladies are smart enough to know real Love from fake. So they prefer the tough, hard guy. But the tough, hard guy will never produce a good relationship with her. In the end, guy and the girl end up in a bad relationship.

My advice don't try to be good/nice, be good/nice - there's a whole lot of difference between the two. Secondly, ladies find it difficult to resist Real Love with all its variants - wisdoms, good words, focus and direction, respect 4 dem, independence most esp. MATURITY. LOVE is a lot more matured than FORCE. The problem is that men know how to employ FORCE than to use LOVE!!!

Religion / Re: The Evil Spirit That Corrupted Lucifer (satan's) Mind; Where Did It Come From? by Harmony10: 3:36pm On Dec 21, 2014
Weselion:
The Bible says God is a jealous God, where did his jealousy come from? The Devil?

Jealousy, Pride, Ego, Anger etc are all came from God. God created these emotions in all his creatures to help them when they need an extra push. Just as adrenaline which give something extra when we reach a dead end and need to escape.

In my estimation, most of these set of emotions are not meant for everyday use because of their destructive tendencies - they are really powerful. For instance I read once how anger can help a timid person speak fluently and boldly in that circumstance when he is angry. If you combine these emotions with other gifts such as Knowledge and freewill/freechoice created in us all, it make very powerful beings.

Knowledge helps us become increasing aware of any phenomenon in our world, thereby giving us more power to get more benefit from that area of knowledge. Then we also have Free Choice to use these power the way we deem fit. Freedom is a very precious gift God bestowed on all His intelligent Beings (Angels & Humans) - something other living beings can never attain to. None of us human can never desire the life of animals or plants cos they were not created with many of these gift that makes us human beings.

Having said the foregoing, what turns all these gifts from God into evil is the choice to put them to bad use. In case of lucifer, He became more aware of his position relation to God's position - knowledge. He coveted God's position and decided to put all his gift from God against God. He decided to become bad and started evil influence. He influenced a third of angels in to become demons. The truth we have freedom to make choices but what we will finally decide to do depends on both on outside influence (what we are hearing, seeing, reading etc) and inner influence (how we interpret all input into the decision making process).

Please be careful of these influences and make effort to choose right because your decisions will be judged at all have be said and done.

If I hear Giant of Africa!!! All of us here in Nigeria are just deceiving ourselves by the sheer abundance of resources (pple and natural) that we have. I keep arguing with people all the time that stop claiming that we are a rich nation. We may have the resources quite all right but does it impact on our lives. Look at our roads, market, dirty garages, rickety public transport, poorly built universities. Nothing inspires you. Abeg we should stop blowing our trumpet and get down to work.

Yes U're correct by saying those who believe in God sees their lives as meaningless without God. If a man believes that a Supreme Being (God) - whom he believes created him, holds the keys to his Life or Death, such a person will surely hold Him (God) as d centre of his existence and d real purpose & reason he still hold the breathe in his nostrils. After all, d idea behind creation is d@ d creator gives meaning to his creations/creatures. Every creator/ producer (such as inventors, fine artists, musicians etc) hold d right to d real meaning/purpose of their works. No matter how many different interpretations consumers give to a work, d producer will always claim ownership of its real meaning and intended use. To better appreciate a work of invention we will always have to refer to the producer for more insight or @ least his manual. Even when we use a product in ways other than one that is intended by the creator, we definitely return to him when we start having problems with d product. If d producer finds us guilty of misuse or damage from use we surely will get punished by paying 4 repairs or may have to change d product entirely 2 a new 1 if damaged beyond repairs. This is d foundation of d believe d@ dre's a God who created lives and who wants us to use our lives correctly. In the events d@ we fail to heed His instructions as contained in His manual for life (d bible), He will punish us accordingly as would any creator or producer.

Having said that, I observed a common theme from the arguments of those people who does not believe God exist: which is 1. There is no verifiable Facts to prove His existence - Faith is not enough to prove His existence. 2. Those people who believe in God are not in any way better than those who doesn't believe. Infact, according to theme, some of the former are d worst set of people d@ has ever graced d face of planet earth. I totally agree with these 2 point - it makes a lot of sense to me. It is a very big challenge 4 every1 - including me, who believes in God to prove d influence of God on our lives through our behaviours and not through mere words, theology or exposition of the bible. Jesus said: If you know these things happy are you if u do them. Knowledge is not enough. We must act accordingly. That is d only way we can prove we truly belong 2 him. Our actions must match our words. Our practice must match our teachings. That takes a lot of character, which is d 1st thing christ seeks do deal with in every man d@ submit. Man is synonymous with strong flesh and weak spirit/heart. Which is d foundation of selfishness and lack of Love. Evry1 who has encountered him according to d bible must show that he has dealt with d problem of his character or at least show signs of progress. He needs to own up where he lacks character by telling d truth - afterall he is still WIP. Telling d truth is one toughest demand of character as advised in d bible. And 2 b sympathetic d believers, dey definitely fear wh@ pple will - how much of scandal it will become if people know about our mistakes so to speak. Well we should understand we are humans and we live in an evil world. So just anybody - including believers can be overpowered if he let down is guards. Hence, lying, pretending or covering up our tracks will only serve to complicate an already bad situation. Hence, we should concern ourselves with is to uphold character as taught by Jesus (say the truth, seek mercies & forgiveness and ensure ur mind is made up not to repeat it again) rather than to salvage your already deflated ego & battered personality as a righteous & holy person. In d bible story of King David & King Saul showed 2 kings who offended God @ 1 point or d oda. One owned up 2 his character deficiencies and ask 4 mercy, d oda gave excuses upon excuses & was neva able 2 rciv 4giveness. Saul never asked 4 4giveness and neva rcivd 1. The essence of this long story is that believer should pay attention to doing teachings of Jesus. Even when we do act wrongly due deficiency in character, stick to Truth and to d right thing to do - Tell all d Truth you know about d situation. Then pray to God d@ he helps u escape d punishment or @ best makes it bearable for u.

Hence, d real proof any man is a believer of God or has encountered him is how much of his teachings he put use. That one individual is called a very high religious name, or d@ he knows and has learn so much about d belief doesn't qualify d@ person as a follower/believer or disciple of the belief. Even if he has so many followers, even if he is doing a lot of wonders and is very influential and convincing with his views. He will stil not qualify as a believer. According, Jesus the only thing that qualify you is your FRUITS - i.e Character, Obedience and Truth. How much ur words tallies with d Fundamentals of beliefs which you must back up with actions. Is not today d@ people profess to b believers/priests but has not good FRUITS/Result to show. Jesus warned pple in Matt 7: 15-21. He said false prophets/priest/ believers will always rise up. We should take note of everyone that call himself a prophet or a believers - they may have so many things in common with d genuine people: knowledge, dress code even miracles like d real people. But one thing they will never be able to replicate is Character/Fruits of believers - the beginning of which is Love, then Truth, Justice, Hope, Selflessness, Peace, Virtues (Sound moral Values), Tolerance, Courage, Mercy & Kindness etc. If we fail to be guided by Love in acting, we must not fail to tell Truth and quickly retrace our step back to d beginning Love. If the these two demands - Love & Truth, have been violated & somebody's rights has been infringed upon then Justice must b done. These are first three character/Fruits of believers. Jesus said by this d world will know you are my disciple if you Love one another not if you know d bible very well or if u show d@ u re superior 2 oda people from another belief system.

So my duty is to Love and Tolerate everybody and his belief system. The truth is no man can change his belief system simply because I told him or preach to him to change. Belief system are so strong no reasonable arguments or logical reasoning can change any man from his belief system. No man can argue me out christianity - 'cos mo ti giran gan sinu e', i.e 'cos I have gone far in it. Likewise I don't expect any1 to change easily from one belief system to anoda. Regardless of how desperately I desire d@ oda pple bcome open to my belief system, I can't fight them or argue them in2 it. I can only show Love & Tolerance to all & pray earnestly for them 2 come & experience d Love, Joy, Peace, Freedom/Liberty, high ideals etc that my belief has got 2 offer. The best effort I can make is to influence any1 from d standard point of friendship. Jesus lived for Love & Friendship. Regardless of who any1 was or wh@ he believed in Jesus Loved sincerely and was a true Friend. He was often rebuked by d religious leaders of his time 4 sitting in d midst of & eating with sinners - prostitutes, corrupt pple, theives and so on. The point is does he approve of their vices - not @ all. Common sense tells us d@ a man will always go to d market where is product is needed. Jesus purpose is to save sinners hence he must sit with them to understand their mentality. Christians need to tolerate other people's belief system. That is d only chance we have @ bringing anybdy to our faith - Love, Friendship & Mercies of God. Proving d existence of God is useless. We don't have all facts to back it up. People will always find pitfalls in our arguments. There is a method no body can ever argue with Love, Tolerance and Friendship. You can never fault it.

I prayer God will help all of us - both believers and not believers. May we make the most of our lives here on earth IJN. Bless You. I Love You ALL!!!!

Uyi Iredia,

Most of the people interviewed are simple folks. They are not equipped as you are, with the elaborate theological devices and philosophies you have. The existence of God must have been justified in the simplest possible manner - the purpose provider for their existence. For most of them, simple faith suffices. Regardless of the stretch between faith and facts.
