chocolateme:Well..things are different here because of the structures in place. Moreso, I don't have plans to frustrate her but things must be done professionally unlike where she's coming from. |
UnknownT:Bro not in this present firm and going by her qualification as well. everything here is purely by merit. |
Karma is a bitch you can hardly punch and get away with it. Though it might pay not you immediately but in the fullness of time you will get exact same measure of your actions if not more. I worked in a firm where I was an assistant to a lady who was fortunate enough to be ahead of me in the department. We have the same qualifications, got employed the same time, infact we obtained our professional cert same time. But you know the nature of things in Nigeria where bottom power plays a major role in who gets what, when and how. Well to cut the whole story short, our boss was transferred and she was single handedly picked by the MD to head our dept simply because one of her friends who happens to be our firm's account officer is in a sizzling romance with the MD. She would shout at me at a very slightest opportunity just to pull me down, anytime I bring any official document for her to sign, she would utilize the opportunity to make a mess of me and shine with me out rightly. I took it all in good faith because I had better plans. (fast forward to present day) Am presently working as a senior consultant in another firm after completing my M.sc and I was opportuned to write a professional exam in march 2014 which was the major reason I was employed in the first place. My office conducted interview for potential employees and then this lady (my former boss/dictator) was among those employed. The issue now is that she has to work in my department under my supervision. I never knew she was even part of those interviewed let alone employed sef. She was shocked when the HR brought her to my office for formal introduction. #Karmaisindeedabitch |

I work in an environment where secretaries are not meant to be sexually molested by their bosses or colleagues 4 dat matter. Atlantian: |
Isn't it funny how people try to justify their mischievous acts of sexual molestation by making it look like it's the norm in the society. My boss looks very responsible, infact when u interact with him u will never expect such 4rm his person. If I had known he was capable of doing such I doubt if I would have had the courage to open the door in the first place. One thing you should note is that my Boss doesn't own our company cos it's a MNC but he can recommend for my sack that's my only fear. |
Gurgle: Gurgle: Gurgle:Shit happens....just pray 2meet d right person cos appearance culd b very deceptive. |

Thanks bro. |
I encountered an act in the office some days back and since then it seems things have taken an awkward turn in my office. I work in an organization as an assistant consultant, which by implication makes my office very close to my boss who is the senior consultant in our department. On a fateful Friday after work, I decided to stay behind in order to tide up some office works. After about two hours I started hearing some strange moans/voices coming from the office directly opposite which happens to be my oga's office. I was curious so I decided to take a look to see what's going on, when I got to the door, I didn't hear any voice so I thought maybe it was my imagination. I gently pushed the door expecting it to be locked only for the door to open and lo and behold my boss was banging our newly employed secretary on his office table. our both eyes jammed, I stood frozen for some minutes (I guess) before I heard his voice "Young man what are you looking for in my office?" Since that event things have been very awkward between me, my boss and the secretary. ( Don't know what to do) |
I think PMB should thread carefully with Niger Delta because any attempt to undermine the impending danger in that region would spell doom for PMB's administration n Nigeria as a whole. The Govt should look for a better way of resolving crises in that region n pacify the people. *my opinion* |
The umbrella body of Ijaw youths worldwide, the Ijaw
Youth Council, has condemned the military siege to the
Ijaw House in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, venue
of a cancelled meeting called by ex-militant leader,
Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo.
The Ijaw (Izon) House is a symbol of the Ijaw ethnic
nationality as it serves as the administrative
headquarters of the Ijaw National Congress, IYC, and
accommodates the Bayelsa State Ministry of Ijaw
National Affairs and Culture.
Following the announcement of ex-militant leaders’
meeting at the House, a combined team of military and
police officers in the early hours of Friday invaded and
took over the building and its environs to prevent the
meeting from taking place on Saturday.
The Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, had
earlier cancelled the meeting called by Tompolo, former
leader of the defunct Movement for the Emancipation of
the Niger Delta.
The Bayelsa Governor had said he would convene a
meeting with the ex-agitators in no distant time to
discuss issues affecting the Niger Delta and the whole
country.
Reacting to the military siege, the IYC, in a statement by
its spokesman, Eric Omare, said the development was
illegal, unconstitutional and a sad reminder of the dark
days of the military dictatorship, where Nigerians were
deprived of their fundamental rights.
The group said, “The IYC wishes to remind the President
and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the
Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari that we
are in a constitutional democracy where things are
done according to law.
“The 1999 Constitution, which is the foundation upon
which our democracy is built, recognises the right to
freedom of assembly and movement.
“The Niger Delta people, whether as ex-agitators or
youth groups, have the right to assembly in a meeting
and free movement.
“Since Friday, July 24, 2015, all officers and
administrative staff of the INC and IYC, including
Bayelsa State civil servants under the Bayelsa State
Ministry of Ijaw National Affairs and Culture, have been
denied access to the premises.
“This is a threat to our nascent democracy. Democracy
is not only about having rice and beans to eat but the
enjoyment of basic and fundamental rights which are
enshrined and guaranteed in the constitution. The fears
of many Nigerians that Buhari would take Nigeria back
to the dark days of dictatorship, where there is no
regard for human rights, are coming to reality”.

as little as two years, people with type 2 diabetes may develop problems with blood flow in the brain, which could lower their thinking and memory skills, a small study suggests. "Our major finding is we have linked the acceleration of the cognitive decline to impaired blood flow regulation in the brain," said senior study author Dr. Vera Novak, an associate professor of neurology at Harvard Medical School in Boston. The problem the researchers found was with dilation of the blood vessels, which allows more blood to flow through the brain. Adequate amounts of blood are crucial for thinking skills and other activities. The researchers found that the higher someone's average blood sugar levels were over the previous several months (a measure called A1C), the worse the problem with blood vessel dilation was, Novak said. How the study was conducted The study was published online on the 8th of July in the journal Neurology. It was funded by the U.S. National Institute on Ageing, the American Diabetes Association, the Harvard Clinical and Translational Science Center and the U.S. National Center for Research Resources. In the study, the researchers evaluated 40 people. Their average age was 66. Nineteen of the study volunteers had type 2 diabetes, and 21 didn't have the blood sugar disease. The researchers tested everyone at the start of the study, and again two years later. The volunteers completed thinking and memory tests. They were also given MRI scans to look at blood flow in their brains, and they had blood tests to measure their average blood sugar levels and inflammation. At the two-year mark, those with type 2 diabetes had less ability to regulate blood flow to the brain when needed and scored lower on the thinking and memory tests. On one test that looked at learning and memory, the scores of those with diabetes dipped an average of 12 percent, from 46 points to 41. Those without type 2 diabetes stayed at an average of 55 points over the two years. A decline from 46 to 41 would translate roughly to remembering 10 words on a memory test the first time, and then remembering only 8 or 9 two years later, said Novak. "It's only [in] two years, that's what is concerning." The higher the inflammation levels, the worse the blood flow regulation, the research team found. That was true even for people who had good control of their diabetes. Blood flow regulation decreased 65 percent in the people with type 2 diabetes, the researchers found. Role of blood flow in cognition is important Dr. Marc Gordon, chief of neurology at Zucker Hillside Hospital, North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System, Manhasset, said it's not new to suggest type 2 diabetes is linked with inflammation and stress to the cells that can lead to problems in the blood vessels. "What's new here is they are documenting that the changes in the blood vessel in response to circumstances is what seems to be predicting a decline in cognition," said Gordon, who is also professor of neurology and psychiatry at Hofstra North Shore Long Island Jewish School of Medicine. In other words, he said, it appears the inability of the blood vessels to respond to various demands is what leads to the thinking problem, although inflammation also plays a role in damaging the blood vessels. In previous research, Novak found that the brain of a person with diabetes is about five years older, on average, than the brain of someone without the condition. "So essentially, the diabetic brain ages faster," she said. The researchers added that a study with a larger group of people and done for a longer time is needed to better understand how type 2 diabetes may affect blood flow to the brain. |
Am talking about merit not ethnicity bro. |
