Th Director of the Labour Party, LP, presidential campaign council in Bauchi State, Alhassan Bawu has dumped the party for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Bawu whose defection is coming three weeks before the presidential election said he defected to the PDP to support the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar. Speaking with journalists on Tuesday in Bauchi, he said the entire LP leaders in the Northeast had joined the PDP. He disclosed that the defectors believed Atiku had the capacity to lead Nigeria. Bawu said the LP lacked structure at ward, local and State levels, hence their decision to defect to PDP. He said: “We believe the LP is not strong enough to win a single seat in the North-East. “We are officially declaring that all the North-East executives of Labour Party are defecting to PDP to support Atiku. “We don’t want to waste our votes, and we want to use this time to mobilise votes to who has the capacity to win the election.” Meanwhile, Atiku Abubakar has said that he is in touch with the presidential candidate of the New Nigerian People Party (NNPP) Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso for possible support. In an interview with BBC Hausa service, Atiku said he is also holding talks with the Labour Party (LP) Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi. He said the duo of Obi and Kwankwaso are not in anyway a threat to his chances in the election. “I see no threat because we are not together with them (Kwankwaso and Obi). We are in talk with them, one of them may possibly come,” he said. On the lingering PDP Crisis, Atiku said, “Each party has its internal crisis, we are still talking with them. Most are neither in PDP nor in other parties and definitely that will not make us loose the election because we okay with the elections preparations for now. “Elections now is not like in the past when a governor will dictate who to vote for, elections today is in the hands of the voters.” The presidential candidate also promised to open all Nigeria’s borders if elected president.

By Ezra Ukanwa, Abuja LESS than 30 days to the presidential election, the youths of Rivers state have reiterated their commitment to vote for the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar. They explained that the person of Atiku Abubakar is far above all other presidential candidates across all political parties in the country, stating that there is no basis for comparing Atiku with any other. Atiku understands how to bring deliberate steps and actions to create big ripple effects that can impact an economy and make life far more abundant for the people”, he said Speaking on unemployment, he explained that Atiku had taken many unemployed youths out of the streets through his many businesses in Rivers state, adding that in his home state of Adamawa, he had also created over 50,000 direct jobs and 250,000 indirect ones. A member of the Directorate of Youth in the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, and DG Okrika LGA of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, Hon. Onengiye Leonard Tamunoigbeinbia spoke on behalf of the youths, in a statement obtained by our correspondent, during the weekend, in Abuja. He said: “There is no basis for comparing Atiku with other presidential candidates because out of all the presidential candidates, he is the only one with Presidential campaign experience, most of the other candidates are running for the office of the president for the first time. In an interview by BBC pidgin, our dear Governor had already declared that it is better to be with PDP that has malaria than to go with the APC that has stage 3 cancer that is equated to death without remedy. “We have already pitched our tent with the People’s Democratic Party in Rivers state and it is rather too late to make Rivers people return to stage 3 cancer because we might not survive the blow. Like our lord Jesus Christ said in the Holy Bible in the Book of Matthew 6:21 “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Speaking further, Onengiye explained that Atiku’s treasures which are his investments and businesses are majorly in Rivers state, indicating this his heart is with Rivers state. Like the now trending song of our dear Governor “nye nde ba, nye nde ba, nye nde ba, which in encapsulation means, scratch my back and I will scratch your back. Atiku has cited most of his investments and companies in Rivers state which have given employment to our people and helped to build our IGR, this he has done to scratch our backs and we will return the favor. “Atiku has the prerequisite experience, contacts both internationally and across the country, and has impacted many lives through his many philanthropic works.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), has said that former governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose and his political associates are working for the victory of the party flag bearer, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in the February 25 election. The PCC said that neither Fayose nor his supporters have come openly to say that they have rejected Atiku as the presidential candidate of the party, saying their rejection of membership of the campaign council was hinged on its composition. “I don’t see Fayose and his supporters not supporting Atiku, even though they are not participating in the campaign. By rejecting their appointment into the presidential campaign council is not enough to say that they have rejected Atiku. I know some of them that are working behind the scenes for Atiku. “I don’t believe in speculation, remember that Joju, the biological son of Fayose is a candidate for the House of Representatives for Ekiti Central Constituency 1 on the platform of the PDP. He would work for his son and he would want him to win the election. Fayose has not come out openly to say that he was not supporting Atiku Abubakar. If he has not said so, every other thing remains speculation, until he comes out to say so. That he is not joining us in the campaign is not enough to conclude that he won’t support Atiku. If you watch the video of the flag-off campaign of Governor Seyi Makinde in Ibadan, even Governor Nyesom Wike who, is leading the G-5 governors, was still shouting the PDP slogan. If you want to count the number of governors on the platform of the PDP today, the G5 governors would still be counted.” On what the party is doing to bring the aggrieved PDP members on board, Odeyemi said that one of the committees from the PCC has been assigned to reach out to them. “You would soon see the result. The leadership would still reach out to them to let them know why they should support Atiku.” He boasted that the PDP would win the presidential election with about 80 per cent of the votes from the state, saying that Ekiti State is regarded as a one of the PDP states. Be rest assured that the result of the coming presidential election will be a different ball game. I can also assure you that 90 per cent of those who went to Social Democratic Party (SDP) are back into the PDP. Don’t be surprised that when the result of the presidential election is announced, we won’t score less than 80 per cent regardless of the fact that APC has a sitting governor

By John Alechenu, Abuja The Atiku-Okowa presidential campaign has expressed confidence that the Peoples Democratic Party, candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has better plans for People Living With Disabilities, PLWDs,than any other candidate in the 2023 presidential contest. The campaign also described as laughable claims by Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities, James Lalu, that Atiku Abubakar abandoned PLWDs in their hour of need. National Deputy Director, Atiku/Okowa PWDs campaign council, Dr. Chidi Olujie, said this in Abuja, on Sunday Dr. Chidi said, “Your response to PDP presidential candidate Atiku’s message passed on the inauguration day of the PDP Campaign Council for PLWDs is somewhat laughable and, at the same time, disappointing. You claim Buhari has done a lot for PWDs and yes, he is our best friend, then unashamedly accuse His Excellency Atiku for the majority of states’ failure to sign the Disability Bill into Law, yet Atiku has never been president; please, does it make sense. “May I also remind you that Nigeria ratified the United Nations Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities (CRPD) in 2007 and its Optional Protocol in 2010, during which PDP was in power? “Again states like Abia, Sokoto, Bauchi, Jigawa, Edo, and many others, are strong PDP states that have already passed the bill into law. “If others have not, the onus falls on your government to make directives for such bills to be passed into law. “The National government passed the Disability bill, and we should commend it for that, but what about implementation? Look at the current state of special schools for children with disabilities. What about the adoption of Sign Language as a national language? What about reviewing the Nigerian constitution for inclusive political participation of PWDs? “Need I remind you that when the Plateau State Disability bill passed into law and implemented by creating a Disability Commission to which you, yourself, were a chairperson, it was PDP in total control. “Both then Speaker of the House of Assembly, Simon Lalong, and the then governor, Sen. Joshua Chibi Dariye, were the ones that signed it, and they were in PDP.” He further said, “The truth is that the government under APC has tried but has not done enough for PWDs. We need to adopt Sign Language and recognize it as one of the official languages recognized by our constitution. “We need constitutional reforms to allow affirmative action to enable political inclusion and governance of PWDs, and this is precisely what Atiku will do for us as president of Nigeria “I would have said more because we have more in store for PWDs, but to avoid our ideas getting stolen to enrich self-seeking politicians. “I will appeal to all sound-minded PWDs and their families to trust in PDP for the change we have always dreamt of

"It has been seven days since my dialogue with some of Nigeria’s critical stakeholders in the Creative & Cultural Industries (CCI). /1 https:///G4oCIuThZp I have had a little time to review further and must say, I was particularly impressed by how well-prepared, diligent and detailed the presentations were, each of which was divided into themes of music, art, film & broadcasting, fashion and a digitised future. As the owner of a TV and radio enterprise myself (Gotel), I am indeed one of you, and I deeply understand the many challenges you are currently facing first-hand. I want to thank you all for your resilient honesty in defining the unfortunate hurdles stopping us all, as one nation, from seeing our full creative potential. I also want to thank you for so passionately redefining Nigeria’s image to one of creative excellence—despite the challenges faced. Through your varied artistic expressions and vibrant means of storytelling, you are our foremost ambassadors, collectively creating a worldwide cultural roar whereby every African on this planet must be proud. If given the opportunity, as your president, I will make it my priority to reignite this renaissance with the homely support it truly deserves. I look forward to more catalysing engagements with this mighty industry of opportunity, which has already powerfully proved itself in so many ways. -AA #AtikuMeetsCreativeIndustry
