In a bid to curb the spread of Coronavirus in Edo State, the state government has reduced the number of persons allowed in any public gathering from 50 to 20.

Other measures taken by the state government in the face of continuous spread of the virus in the country include the closure of markets with only sellers of food items, medicines and other vital commodities allowed to operate.

Governor Godwin Obaseki disclosed the new measures during the inauguration of the Edo State COVID-19 Response Committee at Government House, Benin City, the state capital.

He said, “We are reducing the number of persons allowed to gather in public places from 50 to 20 persons.

"Also, only markets where essential commodities like foodstuffs are sold should remain open for now.

“The state government is working with the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital for mass production of hand sanitisers in drums that would be distributed to local government areas, palaces, markets and other government agencies for use in public places.”


He directed transport unions to intensify sensitisation among members on the need to implement social distancing by reducing the number of passengers on their vehicles.

The governor while tasking security agencies in the state on the enforcement of the new measures, disclosed that the state government would partner with Nigeria Medical Association to intensify public health services.

Veteran Yoruba filmmaker and actor, Gbenga Ajumoko is dead. The actor reportedly died after battling with a chronic ailment.

This is coming weeks after Veteran Nollywood actor, Kayode Odumosu, popularly known as Pa Kasumu died.

Gbenga Ajumoko was reported to be critically down with a chronic ailment since last year.

For over 6 months, the Ijebu, Ogun State-born actor was admitted at a hospital in Sagamu Remo where he was diagnosed with Diabetes and Hypertension which affected his two kidneys.

The Pontiff and the Archbishop is praying as the tithers money keeps surging in. Just one second God said to mankind I am tired of these your hopelessness and tricks don't bother using nuclear weapons to destroy what I personally created I will help you do it gently. Suddenly he allows COVID-19 out from the most populous part of the world. Since the advent of COVID-19 the rumours of wars drastically reduced.

Those who wanted to kill themselves are no longer ready to die. Iran is no longer targeting America. Israel is no longer bombing palestines. Russia is not after Crimea. Arabs are no more after Israel and Jerusalem. Borders are now being closed, Mecca, Rome and Canterbury are no longer interested in your tithes and holy visits. China is no more ready to sell their technology to u. Indeed a common enemy has emerged and his name is COVID-19. An enemy that doesn't respect status. Has no boundary limit and seems to visit the elites more than the poor. This should serve as a lesson to the living. God Indeed is omnipotent in all..

Two World Health Organisation staff members have been infected with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus that causes COVID-19 respiratory disease.

This was disclosed by the WHO’s spokesman, Christian Lindmeier, during a Geneva news conference on Tuesday.

Several hundred WHO staffers started working remotely from home on Tuesday.

Three more corpses were recovered on Monday by emergency responders combing the buildings affected by the explosion that rocked Abule-Ado in the Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State.

The corpses were recovered from the rubble of some of the collapsed buildings at the Bethlehem Girls College in Abule-Ado.

Officials of the school confirmed the identity of two of the three corpses to be workers of Bethlehem Girls College.

Some of the residents were seen parking their belongings from the rubble.

Rescue operation by FRSC, LASEMA, the Nigerian Red Cross, police, Federal and State Fire Service, Lagos State Neigbourhood Safety Corps is still ongoing, The PUNCH reports.


The state Chairman, Nigerian Red Cross, Adebola Kolawole, while speaking at the scene of the incident, said, “Three corpses have been recovered.”

For the past one month I have been having Network issues concerning my Airtel... At first I thought it was just a small thing and it will be resolved in no time, but these issue is getting too long and annoying.

The issue there is that sometimes my network connection (for data) might just go off on it own and when I try turning it on back, it might take a longer time to come on and Even if it comes back it starts turning on and off it self...

So at first I thought it was my phone that has the issue but my phone is actually a new one and it can't start having such issue it it early stage.. so I tried changing my location to see if it was where I was staying before that has the network issue.. But even after changing my location, the problem is still the same..

Though some of my friends told me they have been witnessing the same situation.. cause these whole issue of Airtel Network is getting bad..

Security Operatives on Monday arrested dethroned Emir of Kano Muhammad Sanusi II and whisked him out of the ancient city amidst tight security.

It was gathered that the security operatives are heading to Nassarawa state where Sanusi will spend the rest of his life in asylum.

Before he was taken away, Sanusi was said to have been put under house arrest by the heavy security personnel of DSS, Police and Military.

The arrest was after the security operatives sealed off the Palace.

Mavins records label singer, Divine Ikubor, popularly known by his stage name, Rema has revealed the impact losing his father and brother at a tender age has had on his life.


The talented singer disclosed that things were extremely hard for him and his mother after the death of his father and brother.

The singer further made other revelations about his growing up and challenges he has had to deal with in life.

Rema said at a point in time, his mother was so poor that she couldn’t afford money for public transport and hard to trek long distances.


He made the disclosures during a chat with Manny Norte on Capital Xtra.

After his father and brother’s death, Rema disclosed he had to take on many odd jobs to survive and make ends meet.

“At some points, things got tough I had to man up. My past life has the same effect on my present being in the music and taking things forward,” he narrated.

“I had to work hard because I lost my father and my brother and things were left only to me. So, I had to put things in place. I did a lots of job like working at a beach in Ghana.


“Hard work got me my this shape. At first, it was really hard for me, I cried and was really sad. When I got back to Nigeria I had to appreciate my mum for being strong so I had to get her a car.

He appreciated his mother for the big role she played not only in his life but also in his career. He added that the appreciation was part of why he had to buy her a car when he was only 17.


“I was tired of seeing her trekking everyday. She didn’t even have money to use a public transport or motorcycle. Even though I had no car of my own then, I had to buy my mum a car.”

Speaking on his musical career, Rema disclosed that he spent most of his time in the studio after returning to Nigeria. He added that it was during this time that he met a producer called Ozedikus in August 2018, produced ‘Dumebi,’ which later turned out to be a hit song.

Two Kenyan lovers who have been in a romantic relationship for quite some time, have expressed shock of discovering they are siblings days to their wedding.



John Njoroge was told to call off his marriage plans to Rose Wanjiku (not their real names) on grounds of them being “siblings”, after he introduced her to his parents.



Recounting the sad spot he found himself in, Njoroge said he was told Wanjiku was his half-sister and daughter of his father’s second wife. He told Kameme TV;

“After I took her for introduction to my parents, I was told my father had another wife and we were thus brother and sister.”



Njoroge added that he has come a long way with the lady he started dating after she ordered a shoe from him.

On her own part, Wanjiku expressed fear of falling in love again. She said;

“I cannot even fall in love with another person because I am scared he will also turn out to be my relative.”

Apple Inc. has reportedly agreed to pay $500 million in settlement, following a lawsuit accusing the company of intentionally slowing down the performance of older phones in order to encourage customers to buy new phones or fresh batteries.

The tech giants will now offer $25 to any current or former owner of a covered iPhone. People who have the iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, 7, 7Plus or SE running on iOS 10.2.1 are eligible for the settlement. Also eligible are owners of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus that ran iOS 11.2, or a later version before, the 21st of December, 2017.

Consumers who were named in the lawsuit will receive $1,500 or $3,500, and around $93 million will go toward attorneys plus another $1.5 million or so for out-of-pocket expenses, legal documents indicated. The settlement has a minimum payout of $310 million, but the payment is expected to increase to $500 million if more people file claims.

A federal judge in California presiding over the group of lawsuits will be asked to approve the proposed settlement at a hearing in early April, according to a court filing on Friday.

Veteran Nollywood actor Kayode Odumosu better known as Pa Kasumu is dead.

The Yoruba film star who has been battling ill health for a while now is said to have passed on after an illness.

Nollywood actress, Foluke Daramola Salako took to her Instagram page to share the news of the actor’s demise.

Sharing a picture of the late thespian alongside herself and actor Yinka Quadri, Foluke revealed that a close source that stays around the hospital Pa Kasumu was receiving treatment broke the news.

She wrote:

“BREAKING NEWS! Our model veteran actor Pa kasunmu Kayode Odumosu finally takes a bow.
It is with so much heavy pain in our hearts that we regret to announce ur in Para, that our #paraafricafoundation model actor Pa kasunmu has given up the ghost after a brief illness. The news was broken by a close source that stays around the hospital he gave up the ghost. We will keep u updated with further information on this.”

Pa Kasumu’s health became a concern for members of the public when a video of his frail state surfaced online last year.

At the time, the late actor in an interview said that all he needs are fervent prayers and not financial aid from well-wishers and well-meaning Nigerians.

He also disclosed that his sickness is of a spiritual nature and not medical as many have presumed.

In the December 2019 interview, he also dismissed viral reports that he had gone blind.

According to him, he had a partial stroke that affected his left side and to some extent his sight.

Reacting to reports that his smoking habits contributed to his sickness, Pa Kasumu said people were just ‘talking rubbish’.

Prior to his death, the actor has not been active in the movie scene since he fell sick about ten years ago.

An Indonesian child protection chief has claimed that women can get pregnant from swimming in the same pool as men with “strong sperm”.

Sitti Hikmawatty, the commissioner for health of Indonesia’s Child Protection Commission (KPAI), made the statement during an interview with Tribun news, saying that women should be wary of the risk of unwanted pregnancies.

She said:

“There is an especially strong type of male sperm that may cause […] pregnancy in a swimming pool,”

“Even without penetration, men may become sexually excited [by women in the pool] and ejaculate, therefore causing a pregnancy.”

She went on to say that his type of pregnancy was more likely to happen if the women in question had reached an age of being sexually active.

“If women are in a phase where they are sexually active, [such a pregnancy] may occur. No one knows for sure how men react to the sight of women in a swimming pool.”
