Crime / Inside Life Of Nigeria Prison by Haymaykar(m): 1:58pm On Apr 29, 2020
I came across these post so I had to share it..

There is no place on Earth worse than a prison , it were you lose your freedom and sleep with one eye opened and looking over your shoulder for safety..

Some prison in the western world are far more better than the ones we have in Africa. Over there a prisoner is been feed three(3) times a day and has the opportunity to work and earn money but it is the opposite here in Africa..

Nigeria prison is the only place in the country where all form of human rights are been violated, there are rules and regulations there but no inmates is willing to keep to it and no officer is willing to enforce them. But it shouldn't be like that , in every situation humanity should come first matter the offence is committed

The aim of establishing a prison is for criminals who are found guilty of committing one crime or the other and has been sentenced to be reformed and for them to do away with their old ways of life and embrace a new and better way of life when they finally get released from prison and not for the to die untimely from hunger, congestion, dieases and other form of abuses.

Many have died prematurely in prison because of these factors and many are broomstick due to the poor state of prison in Nigeria.

Recently the Nigeria prison (now Nigeria correction Service) changed their name from former to latter in other to change people perspective about prison life In the country, because when people here the word "prison" ,the next perception they picture in their mind is "hell" which is somehow understandable in Nigeria..

A room space designated for 6/7 people end up housing up to 49 people. You can imagine how difficult it would be to breathe freely in such congested environment..

Talking about the HEALTH CARE, the condition in Nigeria prison is as bad as hell that is why many die there and many are living with different kind of sickness battling with their lives.. Another terrible experience in Nigeria prison is Pregnancy. Sometimes you may keep wondering how these women get impregnated or were they convicted with the child?

Please do everything within your power to stay away from any form of trouble that would land you in prison

Let hear your reaction concerning Nigeria prison

Health / Abba Kyari: Avoid Mass Gatherings, NCDC Warns Nigerians by Haymaykar(m): 2:49pm On Apr 18, 2020
In the wake of the death of the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, from the dreaded coronavirus, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has warned Nigerians to refrain from attending mass gatherings.

The centre asked Nigerians to adhere to its guidelines on safe burial of victims of the virus.

The NCDC made the appeal in a message it posted across its social media handles on Saturday.

The message read, “Even at this time, as we mourn loved ones lost to COVID-19, including recently deceased Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari, we need to refrain from attending mass gatherings to prevent the further spread of COVID-19.

“Let us #StaySafe and protect each other.”

The centre said its guidance on ensuring safe and dignified burial while preventing the spread of COVID-19 can be found on its website.

The guidelines read in part, “Whether a COVID-19 patient died in the health facility or in the community, the body must be granted a safe and dignified burial. The safety and well-being of everyone who tends to bodies should be the first priority.

“Only burial team members that have been trained in IPC and safe burial practices should be allowed to handle dead bodies and conduct burials.

“The team should have the necessary resources such as PPEs, body bags, disinfectant and appropriate transportation.

“Family members, religious leaders, health care workers or mortuary staff preparing the body should wear appropriate PPE according to standard precautions (gloves, impermeable disposable gown [or disposable gown with an impermeable

Foreign Affairs / Coronavirus: Trump Says "Peak Is Passed" And US To Reopen Soon by Haymaykar(m): 8:16am On Apr 16, 2020
President Donald Trump says the US has "passed the peak" of new Covid-19 cases and predicted some states would reopen this month.

At the daily White House virus briefing, Mr Trump said new reopening guidelines would be announced on Thursday after he speaks to governors.

"We'll be the comeback kids, all of us," the president said. "We want to get our country back."

The US has nearly 640,000 confirmed Covid-19 cases and over 30,800 deaths.

Media captionTrump says US is investigating claims that coronavirus originated in a Wuhan lab
"The data suggests that nationwide, we have passed the peak of new cases," Mr Trump told reporters in the Rose Garden on Wednesday.

"Hopefully that will continue, and we will continue to make great progress."

Why is NYC reporting a sudden surge in virus deaths?
Asked why the US accounted for such a significant proportion of the global death toll of 136,908, Mr Trump accused other countries of lying about their mortality rate.

"Does anybody really believe the numbers of some of these countries?" he said, naming China.

He also said the US was looking into unverified reports that the coronavirus emerged from a laboratory in Wuhan rather than in a market.

US media have reported that the US embassy in Beijing raised concerns about safety at two laboratories in Wuhan. However on Tuesday General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said that US intelligence services believed it was more likely that the virus occurred naturally.

Media captionCoronavirus: The unexpected items deemed "essential"
The Trump administration has previously pencilled in 1 May as a possible date to reopen the nation, but the president said some states may be able to return to normalcy earlier than that.

When questioned about the dangers of reopening the nation too soon, Mr Trump said: "There's also death involved in keeping it closed."

He cited mental health issues, saying suicide hotlines were "exploding" as the economy freezes.

Millions of Americans have lost their jobs due to lockdown measures across the country, and unemployment numbers are at record levels.

Retail sales dropped by 8.7% in March, the biggest decline since tracking began in 1992, according to government data released on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the governors of Connecticut, Maryland, New York and Pennsylvania each issued orders or guidelines that residents should wear face masks as they venture into society in the coming weeks.

Media captionAre we heading into a new great recession?
"We are going to be getting back to normal - it will be a new normal," Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont said.

On Wednesday, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti said large gatherings such as sports events and concerts would probably not be allowed in the city until 2021.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo meanwhile said China must show "full transparency" on coronavirus, during a call with his Beijing counterpart, Yang Jiechi, the Department of State said.

Mr Pompeo has repeatedly accused Beijing of covering up the scale of the outbreak in the early days, which China denies.
