Health / Re: How Do I Over Come Muscular Pain by Healthyway4(m): 2:43pm On Aug 08, 2023 |
SANCTO: The sensation of leg muscle tightness causing you pain and making it challenging to move is often as a result of overuse of some particular muscle, or it may indicate an underlying condition. It could also be as a result of electrolytes (such as calcium, potassium) imbalance that play a role in conducting nerve impulses and contracting muscles. When did the symptoms begin? Does the stiffness occur often in the morning and does the pain last for more than 30 mins? Does it come with swelling or lower back pain? |

Health / Re: What Is The Cause Of This? by Healthyway4(m): 5:27pm On Jul 11, 2023 |
thisfemi: Sorry about your condition. An impaired sense of taste is a real burden that's underestimated by many. While it may not be a serious concern in itself but it can be distressing and lead to more significant problems if it continues in the long term. Most times, it's due to an underlying health issue, certain medications or nutritional deficiencies. Since you could trace your condition to your previous illness, it's safe to say it might be due to the illness or the medication taken. Side effects of some medications such as antibiotics, blood pressure medications, or even cancer treatment could alter your taste. The signals sent to your brain through your taste nerves might have been interrupted by the medications. This is one of the reason your taste buds stop working properly. If it's already progressing, you may not be able to appreciate some of the flavours in your food, affecting your appetite and make you less inclined to want to eat. And you're often left with a lingering, unpleasant taste even though there is nothing in your mouth. Also, for your decreased sense of smell, the fact is; the senses of taste and smell are actually very closely related. Some chronic medical conditions or medications that interfere with taste sensation also interfere with the sense of smell. With a weakened sense of taste and smell, you may find it hard to detect spoiled food or liquids. Symptoms remain ongoing until a lasting corrective approach is taken. Do you have a persistent sweet or sour taste for all foods or is it just a weird taste everytime? Does it happen with bad breath or soreness inside your mouth? 1 Like |

If you have acid reflux/heartburn more than twice a week over a period of several weeks, constantly take heartburn medications and antacids yet your symptoms keep returning, you may have developed GERD. Take Note : Antacids provide temporary relief. Antacids alone don't heal an inflamed oesophagus damaged by stomach acid. Also, overuse of some antacids can cause side effects, such as diarrhea or sometimes kidney problems. You will get a lasting solution to this discomfort of GERD with lifestyle changes and certain effective medications. It's much better if you adopt the following health habits : Avoid or limit your intake of spicy/fried foods, fast foods, alcohol, coffee. Stop smoking if you do so. Eat food slowly and chew thoroughly. Eat small, frequent meals rather than huge amounts a few times a day. Avoid eating before bedtime. Wait at least three hours after eating to go to bed. Reduce or cut out foods that trigger symptoms of GERD You will need to elevate the head of your bed to prevent backflow of stomach acid into mouth during sleep. You can use wooden blocks under the bedposts. Extra pillows don’t work well. For its proper treatment, you can talk to your doctor for treatment. Or you may reach me via my signature for proper evaluation with very effective treatment. Take good care. 1 Like |

Well, for the sake of anyone with Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) or experiencing its symptoms, I will make a comprehensive write up on GERD below GERD is generally associated with a weakened oesophagus muscle involved in swallowing. It functions by closing tightly after food passes through. If weakened, it can no longer close as tightly and the digestive acid from your stomach starts to backtrack up through esophagus, into your throat and mouth, giving you a sour taste. Main symptoms of GERD include persistent acid reflux or acid regurgitation and heartburn. However, some people can experience GERD without heartburn. Burning sensation in the back of your throat or have a choking feeling. You may also experience chest pain, usually after eating, and it could be worse while lying down or at night, which makes it hard for you to get a good night sleep. Damage to your oesophagus from stomach acid may cause scar tissue to form, narrowing your food pathway, and leading to troubles with swallowing. When the symptoms happen more than once in a while, the tissue lining your oesophagus is getting damaged regularly with stomach acid. This constant backwash of acid often causes your oesophagus to become inflamed. A chronic inflammation of the oesophagus can progress to something more serious. On its own, GERD isn’t typically cause for concern. However, untreated GERD over time can lead to additional health complications : damage to the oesophagus, ulcer, bleeding, asthma, even oesophageal cancer. 1 Like |

Gbadebo19: Stating your symptoms would be more helpful to get some health advice here. Also, there's nothing to show you've made a move to treat it or undergo some tests to know the nature of your condition, even if it's a serious condition in the long run. I would suggest you go for endoscopy to clearly confirm whether it would point at GERD or another health issue, and to rule out other health conditions or complications from GERD symptoms. |

binabby: Actually, you should know that frequent, unexplained bleeding between periods could be caused by health problems like miscarriage, a hormonal problem, infection, etc. In the case of infection, the spotting usually comes along with some discharge which could be whitish, yellowish or greenish. So you can rule out the possibility of your condition being caused by infection. Well, the abnormal bleeding could be caused by some other health issues but your symptoms directly point at low progesterone. A low level of progesterone causes bleeding between your periods, irregular menstrual cycles, mood swings, and could affect fertility during childbearing years. If you're to treat low progesterone, its proper treatment could be by progesterone supplementation or hormone therapy. The doctor should be able to give some prescription medications for your hormone therapy. Better still, you can try a federal hospital for your treatment. A natural remedy can help resolve your progesterone problem. You will need to take supplements rich in vitamin B and C, Zinc to raise your progesterone level. And you manage stress well. NB : If you begin to have a fever, dizziness, or pain as you're having abnormal bleeding (especially heavy bleeding), seek emergency medical care immediately. 1 Like 1 Share |

Health / Re: How Do I Boost My Immune System? by Healthyway4(m): 10:16am On May 20, 2023 |
Mrwhite09: Actually, there might be several health reasons for your body’s defense mechanisms to function poorly, but a case of weakened immune system should not be ignored. A reduction in the number and function of white blood cells in your system, preventing them from multiplying and producing antibodies needed to fight infection results to your impaired immunity. Well, to increase your chances of staying healthy, it involves adopting healthy lifestyle habits and taking some particular effective medications. The effective combination of these two will definitely improve your immune system against illnesses significantly. You should start with getting quality night sleep regularly, practicing good hygiene, eating a healthful diet, and trying to minimize stress. Also, it's important you take some certain effective medications which include better antibiotics and vitamins and minerals to boost your immune function and strengthen your defense mechanisms against future exposure. When left untreated, you may have a higher risk of experiencing frequent infections and severe symptoms, and can disturb your quality life the more. Your immune system is the key to good health, so the more you can do to protect it, the better. For consultation, you can check my signature for contact 1 Like |

Fanccy: I'm not sure there are tests that can prove one has had a medical abortion, even if abortion pills are taken orally. However, it's okay for everyone to know that if you have had an abortion but the pills were inserted into the vagina, certain tests after a short time of abortion may be able to reveal if there are traces remaining. @Op, you can go for ultrasound imaging to show the shape, physical status and position of the uterus, and check for problems such as cysts in the ovaries, the cause of repeated miscarriages, or a cause for infertility. You can also go for hysteroscopy. It is a procedure that allows taking to look at the inside of a woman's cervix and uterus. Better still, talk to your doctor for more possible option(s). Health / Seven Best Times To Drink Water by Healthyway4(m): 1:54pm On May 10, 2023 |
Every cell in our body requires water. If one of your goals is to drink more water, you’re on your way to a healthier body. Water is critical for the function of your digestion, heart, lungs, and brain. Regardless of your hydration goal, it’s important to drink consistently throughout the day. Here are seven times when sipping is a smart move to make : 1. When You Wake Up, Drink One to Two Cups of Water : Because you don’t drink while you’re sleeping, you wake up already dehydrated. Having water as you start your day can get you back up to your baseline. With your bleary eyes after you wake up from night sleep, drink one to two cups of water first. 2. To Regulate Hunger, a Glass of Water Before a Meal May Help : Water may play a role in weight management. Drinking a cup of water before a meal can help you feel more full and help prevent overeating. 3. Have a Glass of Water to Help Wash Down a Meal : Drinking water with food aids digestion. Water is especially important to drink alongside high-fiber foods. So, as you fill your bowel with food, sip on water too. 4. Rather Than Reaching For Caffeinated drinks To Cure A Mid-afternoon Slump, Drink Water : It’s common to experience a downward slide of energy that happens around 3 p.m. This fatigue compels many people to get caffeinated or sugary drinks to power through the end of the day, but this beverage choice can cut into your sleep, and disrupt sleep at bedtime. But making water a daily habit can help ensure your energy and mood stay steady. 5. Drink H2O When You Have a Headache : A headache can be a symptom of dehydration. For those with migraines, increasing water intake may help decrease migraine severity, frequency, and duration. 6. Hydrate Smartly Before, During, and After Exercise : Drink a cup of water prior, and sip during exercise. Then be sure to hydrate well after your workout is complete to replace what you’ve lost through sweat. Studies show that going into an endurance race dehydrated, even by a small amount, can decrease performance. 7. Have a Sip or Two of Water Before Bedtime : Don’t drink a cup or two of water before bed or you’ll have to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, and that will disturb your sleep. However, go ahead and bring a glass of water to your bedside at night, just in case you get thirsty. Kindly share with your contacts and loved ones. SOUND HEALTH FIRST |
Health / Re: I'm Having A Chronic Waist Pain. What Do I Do? by Healthyway4(m): 9:04am On May 09, 2023 |
Your treatment should aim at rebuilding and strengthening your already weak core muscles, and reducing any inflammation in your lower back. Strengthening those muscles is a great way to reduce the stiffness and aching in your lower back muscles for more flexibility and mobility. The basic fact is; pain relievers, ice and some massaging are usually all that are needed for a mild condition with this home treatment. However, a persistent severe pain requires a more intensive treatment approach for significant results. This involves taking effective medication, lifestyle changes and regular light exercise. Does the back pain seem to worsen during movement but stops as you rest? Do you have other signs or symptoms besides back pain? For enquiry, you can check my signature for contact |
Health / Re: I'm Having A Chronic Waist Pain. What Do I Do? by Healthyway4(m): 8:52am On May 09, 2023 |
LeoOverCris: In the majority of cases, back pain during or after lifting weights/squats is caused by poor posture or improper lifting technique. This poor repetitive heavy lifting must have damaged your disk, or strained your back muscles and overstreched the ligaments and muscles of your lower back. These actually cause further back stiffness and tightness, and account for the debilitating situation of your waist area. If such pain goes untreated, it can lead to more disability, depression and disruptive sleep pattern. You need to improve your posture to prevent further damage and pain from occuring. Also, you should note that too much period of bed rest isn't helpful for moderate or severe back strain at any stage of therapy. Be active and moving as possible. It will also be best to avoid heavy or repetitive lifting until your pain eases. |

charlesdinho: As an asthma patient... For many things that will be at stake, I won't advise you to lie about your medical history. If you join the military and you have asthma, but lie about it beforehand, there are several potential consequences if you are caught. Firstly, if you have an asthma attack during basic training or while on active duty, it could potentially put your life and the lives of others in danger. Also, if your condition is discovered and you are found to have knowingly lied on your enlistment paperwork, they will more than likely come up with the obvious conclusion that you lied on your enlistment paperwork about your medical history, and this can verily have you removed from the service for falsifying an official statement. Furthermore, getting removed due to fraudulent enlistment may affect your eligibility for benefits and future enlistment prospects. It is important to be honest and transparent about your medical history when joining the military as the consequences of lying can be severe. It is best to consult with a recruiter or medical professional before enlisting to understand your options and any potential limitations. Nevertheless, I love the fact that you want to serve. Thank you for wanting to serve! 2 Likes |

charlesdinho: Asthma could be confirmed by taking lung function tests to check for airway inflammation, and to measure your breathing. Also, it could also be diagnosed by breathing into a mouthpiece that's connected to a spirometer to measure the amount of air you're able to breathe in and out, and its flow rate (Spirometry). Well, if your other results are normal, but you've been experiencing signs and symptoms of asthma, your doctor may ask you to take trigger tests by using your known asthma triggers to try and provoke a mild reaction. It's much better you visit a hospital for proper medical assessment. Also if possible, you should make move to see a health personnel in the army to know if there's a waiver for a mild case, and know your chances for enlistment. |

siesmyencounter: I hope this helps... Often, typical migraines are not associated with the weakness of one side of the body. Your symptoms point towards hemiplegic migraine (a rare and serious disorder in which affected persons experience a migraine headache along with some neurological symptoms). The hemiplegic migraine happens when some abnormal changes occur in the genes, interrupting the communication between nerve cells. As the interruptions happen, this is more likely the reason you experience the severe headache, visual disturbances and temporary paralysis of your limbs. Stress, poor sleep, bright lights, certain foods and weather changes are some common triggers. Well, it's good you keep a note of what you're doing or experiencing prior to each attack to really know your trigger(s) to make it a bit more manageable. NB : If you're a smoker, this is a big reason for you to quit, unless you would like to increase your risk of more worrisome effects. Concerning its treatment, it's treatable. The reality is; due to the rarity of the disease, there have only been small series of case reports. As a result, there have not been enough treatment trials tested on a large group of patients with hemiplegic migraine. So its proper treatment knowledge is not widespread. The degree of the attack can vary from mild to severe. For now, do the eye pain and numbness take more than an hour to completely resolve? Do the headaches start shortly before, during or after the aura? For consultation, you can check my signature for contact |

Health / Are You Looking For A Lasting Solution For Arthritis/rheumatism by Healthyway4(m): 5:45am On May 06, 2023 |
Do you wake up in the morning with stiff joints? Are your knees, hands, hips, neck or lower back aching more than before and it's getting harder to move in general? Have you noticed that some of the joints in your hands and feet have become swollen? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may be developing arthritis, the most common joint problem in older people. 6 Surprising Truths Every Arthritic Patient Needs To Know a) There are more than 100 different types of arthritis, but osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis are the most common types. b) Arthritis is mostly seen in adults over the age of 60, but it can also develop in children, teens and younger adults. c) Women are more likely to develop arthritis than men, especially when it comes to rheumatoid arthritis, and also in people who are overweight. d) Having rheumatoid arthritis makes you more likely to experience a serious cardiovascular event like a heart attack or stroke. e) Arthritis is a significant cause of disability among adults. If left untreated, it will get worse with time. f) Rheumatism is no longer a medical term, so Arthritis is more preferred to be called the condition. What are the symptoms of Arthritis? The joints are the most commonly affected by arthritis signs and symptoms. Depending on the type of arthritis you have, you may experience the following signs and symptoms : a) Stiffness and pain b) Redness and swelling c) Reduced range of motion Other symptoms are unexplained fever, fatigue, weight loss and swollen lymph glands. Symptoms typically last more than two weeks. Why you suffer from Arthritis? Two of the most common types of Arthritis are Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid arthritis. Osteoarthritis (The most common type) involves wear-and-tear damage to your joint's cartilage, occuring over many years or it could be hastened by a joint injury or infection. Cartilage cushions the ends of the bones and allows nearly frictionless joint motion, but enough damage can result in bone grinding, directly on bone, which causes pain and restricted movement. In Rheumatoid arthritis, the body's immune system attacks the lining of the joint capsule, a tough membrane that encloses all the joint parts. This lining becomes inflamed and swollen. The disease process can eventually destroy cartilage and bone within the joint. When do you need Medical Attention? It's very important you see a health care professional when you experience the following : I) When you are feeling pain from arthritis; it may come and go, or it may be constant. It may affect only one part, or it may be felt in many parts of the body. II) When the affected joint become red or swollen, and feels warm to the touch. III) Stiffness : This is most likely upon waking up in the morning, after sitting at a desk, or sitting in a car for a long time. IV) If moving a joint or getting up from a chair is hard or painful, it could indicate arthritis, or another joint problem. Who are at risk of Arthritis? Men and women 45 years of age and older Females 15 years of age and older People who are obese Someone with a family history of arthritis. People with past injuries to joints. People with certain occupations that require frequent repetitive joint activities, for example, kneeling or stooping. Note : A number of factors increase blood pressure in people with rheumatoid arthritis, including a lack of exercise and drugs used to treat the disease. Complications If left untreated, severe arthritis, particularly if it affects your hands or arms, can make it difficult for you to do daily tasks. Arthritis of weight-bearing joints can keep you from walking comfortably or sitting up straight. In some cases, joints may become twisted and deformed. Healthy habits you can practice to reduce your risk of developing Arthritis a) Eat fish rich in Omega-3 fatty acids : Omega-3s have a number of health benefits, and they can reduce inflammation in the body b) Maintain a good body weight : Your knees have to support your body weight. Being overweight or obese can take a real toll on them. c) Exercise : Exercise not only takes the stress of excess weight off your joints, but also strengthens the muscles around the joints. d) Try to avoid injury when playing sports or participating in recreational activities. e) Go for medical care immediately : The damage from arthritis is usually progressive, meaning the longer you wait to seek treatment, the more destruction can occur to the joint. Proper Treatment of Arthritis Its treatment involves repairing the worn-out tissues, strengthening the blood vessels and veins, and lubricating every joint in the body for easy movement. A standard treatment helps to greatly improve your joint health, prevent pain and inflammation so you can have better flexibility and be in great shape again.
