Le me drop this one here:
If you are called for an interview, please buckle up and don't take it casually. Be prepared. I applied for a Spring programme and got interviewed for over 80 minutes at the embassy. Whether or not it has to do with the fact that I had 75% percent scholarship, I can't still say till now or they have decided to tighten up a little on their immigration policy. It could possibly also be my personal experience independent on either of those stated points . My programme is one-year MBA programme. If you are applying for the next intake, also make sure you apply early. Cheers. |

naijaeclectic: Moderators, please let me know if I'm going against the rules and I'll delete this post. For now, here goes nothing:
So, I encountered loads of difficulties when I was leaving Nigeria. With the limits on Nigerian bank cards, I and the guy attending the same school (Miami University, Oxford, Ohio) could not pay for many things, even within that $50/$100 CBN-imposed limit. We spent days trying to pay for a hotel/Airbnb, GreyHound services, and whatnot. I've not been that stressed in years.
Let me not even go into how AirBnB canceled a booking when we were at the airport, an hour to getting on our flight. Why did they do that? Our booking was tagged as fraudulent. So, the booking came from Nigeria and payment from a virtual card with a US address. Also, because Airbnb refused to verify our Nigerian phone numbers for reasons known to them, we used one belonging to a friend in the UK. It was extremely complicated, and we'd tried all we knew, but that's the only option we had before we found someone who helped at the last minute. Let's just say that we ended up rooming in a hotel (read: motel) in a Nigerian-like neighborhood in New York.
Lol. Don't ask why the UK friend didn't just pay and do everything from his end. As I said, things were super-complicated.
The thing is that things could have been easier if someone helped facilitate everyone from one spot, with one card.
Based on this experience (and several more), I would like to help anyone who needs to pay for buses, accommodation, semester dues, and anything that they can't do from Nigeria. I've seen people who can't access US websites, people whose cards are not working, and people who are faced with using a third-party offering ridiculous over-N515 (naira) exchange rates.
I understand that everyone's being careful and that you don't want to get scammed. But I am genuinely doing this because I can imagine the kind of stress people are going through right now.
Please send a message if you would like me to help. When you reach out, I can share details about myself, and you can Google me, too, for credibility purposes.
At this point, the stress in the world (read: Nigeria) is too much to add difficulties when japa-ing.
I sincerely hope this helps someone. Again: Moderators, if this is way off, please let me know and I'll delete this.
Thank you. Your contact pls. |
Hi, please I just paid for application on universityadmission.se, I don't know what else to do.
How will my school send electronic transcript?
Don't bother yourself if you have submitted the documents and paid the fees. With respect to your transcript, your previously attended university will scan, upload and send it electronically to University Admissions. Upon receipt, it will reflect on your account including the date University Admissions received it. |

SkyEmperor: Clean Clean relax nothing to be worried about. This case officer didn't state his request clear but he/she was just emphasizing on you contacting the embassy.
First to do, send an email to the embassy @ migration.abuja@gov.se
Secondly, stay calm before responding to this request. You can DM me, let's reason it. Don't rush You guys should please explain how you went about this problem and what exactly you typed in the request box for people who might face this in thefuture to learn. |

That I won't follow your advice doesn't mean I am myopic and not humble. I only chose to see things differently.
Rather do I need to engage in discussions with studying in Cyprus, Belarus etc
But you see as far as this Sweden is concerned, THE DIE IS CAST.
The worst case scenario is to return home should it not work over there which I am not afraid of.
Thank you guys, I have been sufficiently informed by you. |

Try some shots at their tuition fee reduction scholarship in your desired university so that even if you miss the Swedish Institute Scholarship, you will enjoy some savings |

Don't go to school because there are no jobs
Don't get married because your spouse might die the next day
Don't travel to Abeokuta from Lagos to take up that long expected job because you might be kidnapped on your way
Don't travel by air because there might be a crash
Don't start a business because it might fail the next day
Don't buy or build a house because it might collapse within three years
Don't connect electricity to your house because you might be electrocuted one day
The list is endless.
Having stumbled on how some people suffer in Canada, US, etc on quora , I arrived at the conclusion that the only perfect place to relocate to is Heaven.
Plan it out of course but never be discouraged.
I would rather fail than refuse to attempt success. |

Asians will encourage one another but Africans will always see the bad side and discourage their brothers.
If you are looking for a perfect place to travel to, then that would happen in your next life.
Don't get discouraged.
Don't be afraid.
Don't be a weak man.
I would rather experience it myself than let anyone discourage me from trying with their stories.
People have relocated back to Naija from 'good countries' because they found themselves doing better here.
Don't let people's experience debar you from trying in life. |

seyestp: Good Day Gurus,
Please i need your guidance, I recently applied for a Masters program at a Canadian University though I wrote a letter for a waiver of GMAT the response was because I graduated with a second class lower class i should provide a GMAT score of 550 minimum.
My question is how do you think I should approach this with the university? should i appeal or re-provide the waiver letter?
are there other school in Canada I can apply that will not require GMAT, full school fees payment before granting Admission bearing in mind I am applying with a second class lower in Accounting with 10years working experience (4 years as a contract staff).
Please advise me. I see no reason why you shouldn't disclose the name of the university if seeking assistance. Being detailed about your questions might attract the very answer you want as people might have crossed that same bridge you stranded in right now. |

Good morning all, the Msc program i am looking at set its admission requirement is a 70% grade. I want to know its equivalent in the Nigeria academic system on a 5.0 GP scale. I have researched on the internet but i could not find any helpful information. I have a 3.63/5.0 scale , would i scale the 70% requirement for the program? Thanks in anticipation of your response
Your GP which is 3.63/5.0 is 72 percent and I think you are qualified. Which school if I may ask? quote author |

TIM masters Program at Carelton University, No tuition fees deposit at all.
Previously studied in the UK, also 5yrs ban from the UK.
I tried to use the services of a Canadian Immigration agent and She told me point blank that she won't take my case because its a waste of money and I won't get it. Hmmm Clearly she isn't God. Indeed there is a God and indeed he answers prayers.
The Way God did it for me, he will do it for you all waiting on your approval. All the best. Congrats on your PPR. Did you disclose your previous UK ban? If Yes, did you submit the ban statement (letter) from the UK? |

Sincerely I wasn't optimistic about my application because I didn't pay first year tuition and I used a friend in USA as sponsor(didn't upload my statement, IELTS, employment letter and all the numerous documents I have come across here). I discovered this forum after I had applied. I uploaded very few documents and seeing people upload a lot more discouraged me further. But I thank God it ended in praise. I have work experience in a multinational here in Nigeria and have never travelled. My program is M.Eng Computer Engineering.
I sincerely wish all those waiting for decisions a successful response. And hope this encourages someone out there. Congrats! Please could you tell us the institution and programme you applied to? |
