Pray for Nigeria!

Let us pray for the peace of Nigeria taking our Bible text from Psalm122:6.

With the potential  that our beloved country Nigeria possesses, it is inevitable that there will be a lot of contention, distractions and spiritual interference in an attempt to derail our collective destiny as a people under God. 

As Christians, we are encouraged to pray for our nation and to stand in the gap for our leaders, even when we feel that they do not display sufficient leadership capacity. Indeed, we are told to pray even for those who consider us enemies and who do not have the best intentions for us or for our nation.

So, I ask us all that despite physical evidence to the contrary, let us speak and pray prophetically that Nigeria is already a land of peace and prosperity, a land of good governance, accountability and indeed a corruption-free society.

As Christians, we walk by faith and not by sight, no matter the situation and we decree things so that they may be established.

Jesus says: "Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them."(KJV). He promises us also that whatsoever we  -Christians-  allow on the earth, will be backed by Heaven and anything that we refuse on earth, will certainly not be permitted by Heaven.

My brothers and sisters, Nigeria needs our positive prayer and confession during these times of great trials.

Please join this prayer for Nigeria,  God bless you as you do so.

You might have a point that some are using these more like incantations and partly out of ignorance but the fact is that both Blood of Jesus and the Holy Ghost Fire are weapons of offensive Christian Warfare-

Concerning the Blood of Jesus, see Rev 12:11 "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death."

For the Fire of the Holy Ghost see Matthew 3:11-12

"11. I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
12. Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire"

I don't have all of the answers but I need you to really ponder, how else can you reconcile the prosperity of the Dominican Republic and the complete failure of Haiti. Two nations on the same piece of land the Hispaniola island according to Robertson!

Pat Roberston is not the issue here. History reveals the facts about the Haitian independence and as loving as God is, when it is necessary, He always gives humanity abundant warnings on a consistent basis of impending punishment on account of their disobedience. The Bible shows that God sends warnings through several media to a concerned people so that at the end of the day, there will be no excuse if they choose to ignore Him!

Remember that Our God is a Merciful God, but He is also a Judge and Sovereign, showing mercy to whom He chooses. In effect, however we may see it as human beings, there should be NO questioning of His actions! Therefore, God can choose to spare Nigeria while dealing with a Haiti even if there are elements in Nigeria who practice something similar. I don't know much about Haiti but I can attest that there are people who make intercession for Nigeria before This Sovereign God and maybe, just maybe, that is why Nigeria with all of it’s “impossible” issues always gets away when it all seems about to collapse! God does not expect us to be perfect persons or even a perfect nation, all He needs is that person's or nation's heart striving towards perfection.

Friends as I write, I am watching footage of the effects of the earthquake in Haiti and am   keen to warn here that we do not just debate but to reflect on what Pat Robertson has said, That the Haitians chose in the light of their past slavery to enter into a pact with the Devil! You may not like the messenger or even the message but you need to take a step back and  reflect. Bear in mind  that the God Who made you and I, is the same One Who made Haiti, He created Haitians because He still rules in the affairs of men, but why could He possibly allow such a scale of destruction if there was not a spiritual undertone.

Look at it this way…WHAT IF ROBERTSON IS CORRECT?!
