I voted in that Election in my ward in Anambra and I voted for PDP. I earlier mentioned it here that I am not in support of the PERSON Obi is rooting for.

If you mention animal attacks there and then, so it is right now and right here in Nigeria (if not even worse).
BTW, to maintain global peace, the US must remain on top of world super powers. The US and her citizens must keep advancing in warfare to remain top of the world's super power. Switzerland is not in the scheme of world super powers. Infact, by some extension, the Swiss are even part of the people protected under deals with the US. @ emboldened, again you are wrong. |

NairaX: you’re right tho, and that’s actually one of the issues I’m trying to avoid. The goal isn’t to rush and publish unverified stories just to be “first.”
If anything, I want the platform to focus on verified updates only esp the AI mode, even if it means being a bit slower sometimes. Nigeria has seen too many cases where fake breaking news spreads and causes panic — like the Obiano situation you mentioned.
My idea is more like: – verified sources only – clearly stated updates – no sensational headlines – and a space where users can discuss without the usual chaos
I’d rather have fewer updates that are accurate than be competing with people dropping every rumour.
Thanks for the point — it’s something I’m actively thinking about as I continue building. The fewer the merrier should be applicable to any social media page. A page of 400k followers first posted a short video, a page of 30k followers reposted it. 400k followers got less than 300 comments, less than 200 shares with 300k views within days Meanwhile the page of 30k followers got 1 million views within days, 1k+ share, 1k+ comments. The difference is simple, the 30k followers is more trusted than the 400k followers due to the past activities like verifying news, avoiding gossiping news that will attract in genuine followers |
Politics › Re: Why Don’t We Have A Proper Real-time Breaking News Platform In Nigeria? by helinues: 8:37am On Nov 24, 2025 |
If you want to be breaking news on Nigeria social media, you will run into trouble. Even the credible sources do take their their to verify news before breaking it
Obiano, former Anambra state governor was rumored to have died in London hospital less than a week, all the media that broke the news will definitely loose mature readers
Judge Omotosho was claimed to have escaped gun attack with photos attached, it was all fake as nothing as such. How would you look if you initially posted that on your page? |
Politics › Re: See Public Trade Fair For GUNS In America, Despite 40,000 Annual Gun Casualties by helinues: 8:33am On Nov 24, 2025 |
Racoon: Even @ that, the rate of senseless mass killings by fanatic Islamic jihadists is much more lower after 9/11 on account of gun licensing in the US. The situation in Nigeria is complete different ball game 47,000 people died due to gun violence every year in USA and you are still saying that's not senseless killings . May be it's an embraced killing then On average of 500k people go missing yearly in USA. You are not only right about them not having Jihadist killings, you are also left as well |
Politics › Re: See Public Trade Fair For GUNS In America, Despite 40,000 Annual Gun Casualties by helinues: 8:24am On Nov 24, 2025 |
McLizbae: There are many things you are ignorant about on the matter.
1. America will leave gun ownership policy intact to ensure maximum readiness of every American for any internal or external attach. 2. Unlike terrorism, genocides, and bokoharam (as you have mentioned) in Nigeria, every killer or perpetrator of gun violence is investigated, mostly arrested, and punished. 3. Gun ownership gives the sense that nobody is invisible and untouchable, so, people are more careful with the way they deal with each other (you don't just fxck around). 4. Ever heard about the "Wild West"? That's the name given to the western US that was characterized by seemingly uncontrollable violence and lawlessness. Gun ownership for self defense was one of the solution to that problem, and it has to stay in place to keep it resolved. 5. Flipping on the cruel side, gun ownership controls population growth. In gun violence, either the shooter or the victim or both are taken out of the population (dead or jailed), and it all cases the community is depopulated by at least one (either the shooter or victim, or both) useless or terror person. Now imagine that 40k useless and potential terrorists was being removed from Nigerian population from just 2000 to 2005. There definitely won't be various versions and groups of terrorists in the country now.
In summary, as long as the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, that policy will continue to stand in America. Nigeria should allow gun ownership for citizens. The advantages will surely outweigh the disadvantages, but that is if the politicians will start acting in ways that won't make them the first set of victims. You are wrong. Mass gun acquisition in USA was approved during the time of WW wars, animals attacking. USA have stopped fighting domestic war or receive any foreign threat, very low animal attack, why are they still mass producing the gun, it's people within the USA using gun to harm themselves. If USA as a country indeed want global peace, why are they spending billion of dollars yearly to produce more weapons of destruction Switzerland, one of the richest country in the world, why are their citizens not carrying guns around? You can't even hear Switzerland getting involved in any global war, they have been neutral so no threat from anyone |
Politics › Insecurity And The Opposition Leaders State by helinues(op): 8:13am On Nov 24, 2025 |
Even though the whole responsibility of the security end with the president, no excuse or justification, they have not been doing enough which is something worrisome. We hope they get on top of the situation
Back to the topic
Atiku is From Adamawa state, NE, all politics is local, if you are claiming to be responsible, there should be sign from your home state, home region . Adamawa has now joined states with regular insecurity even though the other states in NE have been more affected.
Peter Obi is from Anambra state, SE. Ipob behaved as how they liked for years before their governors acted. Anambra and Imo state are the most affected with the UGM activities
Elrufai is from Kaduna state, NW, he's, even accused as being part of those who are causing the insecurity in Kaduna state. Allegedly
David Mark is from Benue state, NW, the same Benue we have been reading about repeated killings
Those are the top Nigeria opposition leaders, their state, region are ravaged with insecurity, them being a leader, solutions hunter couldn't do a jack to the issue affecting them at home but they are claiming of having solutions to Nigeria problem.
Hahaha, None of them are even in charge of their current political party, they are not courageous enough to unite political party with how many executives Yet thinking they can unite Nigerians. |
