My ODU sim has stopped working on my 4gsmart box. Is anyone experiencing such? It started since yesterday. But it's blazing well in the ODU device. Am I the only one having this issue?

The thing is with Airtel u just have to make do with whatever u get, it's unfortunate that in this part of the world they get away with these things and the worst is there are no viable alternatives.

I think they have reduced my ODU to 2gb daily because after small browsing it will be disconnected immediately. Even the daily usage report via SMS is no longer coming to me. Otilo

Their TV Box is also not unlimited again. Except if users would provide counter evidence. I encouraged someone to leave their good non-smart TV they wanted to swap and get the Android box instead. The folks at the Airtel office told him it's 100GB FUP, and 2GB daily thereafter.

Airtel is getting wiser and are mean these days. Because their offer is the cheapest right now.

As I entered the last week of my ODU sub, Airtel reduced my speed to nothing. I wanted to try the 30k sub on my router but ended up getting 100gb.

X25pro is better than X30 but X30 is very portable. X25pro is better for home use as it has LAN ports. X30 is probably the best for on-the-go users.

X30 is also factory unlocked with easy IMEI tweak to make it easier to work with any sim and any bundle. Due to its unavailability in the fairly used market, you'd very likely get it at a significantly higher price than what you can get X25pro in places like Facebook Market place.

Is this x25pro still available in Airtel shops or in the market? I think the hype is crazy.

Now okay on ODU. I suspect the rain of this evening caused it.

Have you tried using the ODU in a different location?

Like carry it to a location where you know that there's very strong network. Because it's possible that Airtel's mast in your location is only transmitting 3G signal to your ODU.

It's possible that the 4G/5G for that mast are not functioning optimally.

It's also possible that for some reason, 4G/5G in your location are working well but have disassociated themselves from your device or Sim card.

Anything is possible with Airtel these days, just take it to another location.


My ODU sim have been getting max speed of 200kbps for the past 6 days at my house. I talked to customer care, and 3 different supervisors but no solution.

The device works well at my office, so today I decided not to turn off the device after work, took it home still turned on right from the office where it's been working well.

And behold, I'm currently using it now in my house getting 25/30 Mbps.

It's crazy innit.!?

My ODU didn't even work at Airtel office when I took it there for check. Those guys there don't even know what is wrong.

Okay. The router is relatively portable. Although, to me, portable means being able to carry it in my pocket or very small bag because I am always on the move. If the router works with your ODU sim as they say, enjoy. At least it's a reprieve from the ordeal you have had recently.

I tried the ODU yesterday, it couldn't even open NL. Still stuck on 3g even after several reset and change of bands.

Some of the problems folks describe here are unfathomable. It would have been funny if it's not true. Sometimes I'm tempted to ask if you check the settings in the ODU to ensure nothing is untoward but I won't ask it; I assume everyone on this thread should know how to check APNs and stuff.

So I will pin it on Airtel. Weird but still...

This is my third month on this issue. The 4g smart box I recently bought confirmed the madness of Airtel network to me. The Smart box came with 100gb. I used all of them with the ODU. Once you insert the ODU SIM it will not pick 4g or 5g but on 3g always. The moment you put the the 4g smart box sim, it will start blazing on 4g+.
In conclusion, Airtel is mad.
The ODU SIM is working perfectly well on the 4g smart box and I am enjoying my subscription.

That is what I am using. I tried them again by inserting the ODU sim in the ODU device but it worked for few minutes and stopped. I have to take it back to the 4g smart router and continue my browsing.
Airtel knows what they are doing.
The same ODU device is working fine with ordinary SIM.

Airtel is completely insane. I inserted my 4g SmartBox SIM into my ODU and it is blazing now. But the same ODU won't work with the physical SIM.
The ODU sim is also working with the 4g smart router. Isn't this madness.

This evening at around 4:30 pm, the internet is back after 24 hours.
Nothing was done from my end.

Mine has passed two weeks.
I have got a 4g router myself. I will insert the ODU physical SIM there and solve my problem at once.

What apn are you currently using?
Have you changed your apn to auto or Airtel default apn?
You will be surprised at the result.

It has been the default.
