collinsfbi: When you asked a question and it was being answered, endeavour to always go back and read before asking further questions. I still remember i personally answered that question on this thread poster by queenesther4 and you guys have a similar case, go back to page 68 for further clarification. Nobody advised you to get medical insurance/aid or whatever. All you need is a medical report of an accompanying applicant detailing his or her health status and you can get this from any Government hospital.

TYPOP: @Herigift, I remember asking someone (married with children) who got here before me about your case and the person told me about the medical aid thing. However, @samtol4 says you do not need it. @samtol4 COULD be right. I will try to call the office in charge after the holidays and clarify once and for all. Why not also try calling the embassy to confirm. They should also be able to help. So sorry if I misled you.

Cheers and all the best.

Merry christmas y'all.
thanks TYPOP for all your help. Compliment.

HELLO,
pls can a police clearance gotten in september still be used in December for study permit. spouse got her police clearance in september and will be applying for study permit this december, but i heard police clearance is 3 months, december will make it 4 months. thanks
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by herigift: 4:34pm On Nov 27, 2013
collinsfbi: Sorry for my late response but TYPOP has also done justice to some questions already. first and foremost accompanying visa is granted to accompanies of holders of Permanent and Temporary permit such as resident permit, work permit, study permit etc on different conditions. You fall under the category of study permit and accompanying visa will be granted in the case of applicants with minor. If you have your study permit already, then file an application for your minor with the following documents;

A detail letter of introduction stating you relationship with the accompanies, age and reasons why you can't leave them behind
Copy of the data page of your passport
Copy of your study permit
Birth certificate in the case of minor
Proof of sufficient financial means in your own account
In the case of sojourn not exceeding 12 months, submission of proof of a valid return air ticket.
A marriage certificate in the case of a married applicant.
Proof of relationship as contemplated in regulation 3.
A death certificate in the case of a widowed applicant.
A decree of divorce in the case of a divorced applicant; or
Proof of legal separation in the case of a separated applicant.
Proof of accommodation
Repatriation fee expected to be paid on each accompanying applicant
Police clearance is required if an accompanying is older than 18
Medical report of an accompanying applicant detailing his or her health status
An affidavit, substantially corresponding to Form 12 contained in Annexure A, confirming any spousal relationship of the applicant and the particulars of any children born of such relationship
Letter of Consent / Support from your husband including his statement of account
If a minor child subject to guardianship or custody is accompanying the applicant or joining the applicant in South Africa, then proof of guardianship and custody is required.

@ herigift It will be easier in your own case if your wife can get her own study permit first then both of you can file your children accompanying visa but you really have to provide substantial and sufficient financial means. Your children will not be granted accompanying visa if you apply with your permit because you are a man and your wife is expected to take custody of the children since she is still alive. Let your wife secure her permit first then any of you or both of you can file for your children with the list of the documents above.

[quote author=TYPOP]Your case is slightly different from Esther's. And I like people who read previous posts to know it didn't answer their own questions before they ask. Well done bro.

1. Yes, you can use the same account for the application. If you have another one with a good amount of money, fine. Otherwise, you should be good to go. However, since the account will now be for two applicants, you may want to have between 1.5 and 2M in your account. In my opinion, you should be able to sail through. But the best advise is, have close to 3M in your account.

2 & 3. Look, this is where you are different from Esther. I will advise both of you discuss and know who is the most important person to go. Let that person apply alone.
thanksrial. And in case they give both of you guys, please come back here so we all can learn what and how you did it.

Cheers and all the best.[/quote

herigift: hello guys, please i need your sincere advice on the following, after reading through your replies to queenesther4, i decided to seek your opinion on the following;
I recently got an admission for postgraduate study in SA, and i have submitted my application for study permit at the high commission, still awaiting my permit.
However, my wife also got admitted for post graduate studies in SA and we need to apply for her study permit also.
In addition, we have two children, (3yrs and 2yrs ) who would have to go with us, so
1. can we use my account for her application bearing in mind that i just used the same account for my application? how much would be needed in the account for this case scenario?

2. what would be the best option for these children who are not going to start schooling immediately in the republic but have their own passports as required by the new ecowas system?

Or

3. do you think getting a friend in the republic to invite these children (3 and 2 yrs) will be applicable? bearing in mind their ages?

thanks
?pls help oooooooo, still waiting..................
