Not that anybody asked, and not that I am inclined to arguments that may end up futile.
But if I could remember the application advert, PTDF for the first time waved the purchase of scratched cards and also introduced interviews as assessment measure for Msc applicants. More important to remember is that PTDF committed to securing admissions for applicants to their instructions of choice.
Why then should we expect them to publish a list when the process is not yet completed. They have to secure admissions for the selected candidates before the scholarship is awarded. It's something they promised.
My suggestions is not to imply that those contacted are the ones selected, but just something most likely.
I must have to apologize if my tone got you guys offended. |

faceURfront: If those who were not contacted did not get selected, say so. Better still release the list of successful ones and ask them to bring whatever you want. This idea of sending mails to some and not others isn't my idea of transparency especially since this wasn't ptdf's modus operandi before now. Bro these people are professionals. Better still they hire professionals for this exercise. You don't expect them to start blabbing that hey; "Those who were sent mails are the candidates selected while those who didn't get mails are unsuccessful". At the first stage of screening, it was obvious to applicants who were not sent invitations via mail and sms that they were not successful. I wish you don't expect them to publish two lists, one for successful candidates and another for unsuccessful. Remember at the first stage you were sent an email and sms for interview while others didn't get. Yet you didn't think of it as an opaque process. I think you are just being egocentric. |

faceURfront: You also wrote a lot without justifying why the whole process is opaque.
This way only the selected would bother with transcripts and so on. Common ground! And that is why it is not everyone that was interviewed was bothered with " transcript and so on". |

faceURfront: I don't agree with you for the following reason:
PTDF claims that this is a strategic partnership with some schools and even went further to state specifically the programs you are restricted to. One would therefore think that the schools must have provided the minimum requirement to be admitted into these programs which should be the most important criteria for being invited for the interview in the first place and subsequently select the best required numbers from the interviewed at the end of the day.
So I wonder why the schools are still asking for additional documents. One would now ask, what kind of arrangement did ptdf do? Which really is my reason for saying ptdf didn't handle this process well enough.
They should have selected the number of successful candidates from each state and publish their names as usual and early enough (long before now). Then those guys can proceed with any other process. If in the event that a number of them run into hitches that requires them to be replaced, ptdf can then contact the next in line on the interviewed list.
The way ptdf has don it now makes it look like there are some underground permutations going on which may not necessarily be true. The guy was on point in few words. I would rather disagree with you despite the volume of words. The different schools have different criteria, PTDF also has her criteria. Now it's up to the applicant to check his/her school of choice to see if they are eligible before filling in for such school. Remember it's one thing to win the scholarship and quite another to be admitted in one's school of choice. I suppose that's what the Fund is facing right now as they perhaps are done with the selection but would have to process admissions as they did promised before publishing names. Such that there could be a column on the list to tell you the institution you were awarded. Would you rather prefer they requested your transcript, medical certificate and police certifications during the application phase? The process is in stages and additional documents are required for each stage. |

sam333: If it be so, it could mean that those who chose UPMC and University of Lyon have been contacted but they just decided to stay mute on this platform. Well God knows. It is well Well, the award list must not necessarily cut across all advertised schools. Chances are that no one that applied to such schools made it through. That doesn't imply a fact but just one reasonable premise. I mean no offense to anyone that applied to the two schools. |

udores: See this as pure information no sentiments attached. Summarily, what I'm saying is if the you get an email asking you to do something just go about it. That's probably your own contribution to making the final list ready. Probably not You contradict yourself a lot. Could it be something you fancy? In your earlier assertion you said; "Those contacted by PTDF through emails have *slimmer*chance of making the final list". Now, do you mean they have slimmer chance than those who were not contacted after interviews? You must be wrong if that is your standpoint, as it is better reasonable that those contacted stand a better chance of being selected. Begin to think of the time that would be required to start making contacts with someone who has not been requested to supply necessary documents for admissions and visa applications after the publishing of the award list. Keep in mind that most schools have either closed or about being closed for admissions. |

TJ0987: Please I noticed that there is no Lagos center. Or is it just me? Also, there is an issue bothering me my people. I finished with a 2.2, and most of the 15 listed schools, when I went to their websites, I realised they usually specify 2.1 or first class, so why is the scholarship asking for 2.2s to apply, when the schools are saying differently. Thank you all. University of Salford, Manchester accepts 2.2 in Engineering

Jenykech: Hi guys, please how are you all preparing for the interview? Like what are you studying and what possible questions do you think will be asked? Thanks You may need a thorough knowledge of the course you fill in for, be familiar with recent local and international events, technology, and perhaps about the agency itself, above all your statement of purpose when asked should not conflict with the already supplied information. You could also be given a chaotic scenario and asked on how to fix it. Just my little thinking, there could be more to it. |

gozmoc8167: I think this is the same vice rocking the entire national sphere; egregious myopia and selfishness. May God help Nigeria, especially the future leaders, to imbibe the culture of looking beyond immediate and personal gains of their actions and decisions. Any venture that sacrifices the welfare of the posterity for immediate, though seemingly palatable, benefits is not sustainable and as such counterproductive. Let us say no to selfish interests! To join a group is a thing of choice. It is not mandatory on anyone, as no one is bent on "all must join" the group. I do not refute that nairaland serves for posterity, as I have had a taste of its lasting effect. My concern is to why you guys are condemning an alternative platform as if there is a kid here that could be cajoled without their consent. My emphasis is that with a platform as Whatsapp, anyone could have an alert on what is going on in the thread. Must we all log on to nairaland everyday? Nairaland has no alert, the other does as long your data is put on. |

gozmoc8167: Actually you are saying the truth. It is better to keep using this thread as the only platform to relay information regarding the scholarship because future applicants can always make references to it. Moreover, even past and existing scholars will find it easier to make contributions to the thread for the benefit of current applicants. The idea of a WhatsApp group, albeit good, is not sustainable. The Whatsapp group is not meant to substitute this forum but rather to complement it. You may agree with me that it's easier to fetch information from the attacked platform than this very one. Besides should we not be versatile in dissemination of information? Not everybody log on to nairaland every second, but with every message on the whatsapp group, each group member gets a beep of notification. If I should ask, would you rather rely on email notifications from your bank or sms alert? In my opinion both are complementary but one is more timely. |
