I can't say about foreign countries, but in Nigeria most atheist are converted because god failed them even after believing. This is what make them question god's existence. So, these Atheists naturally have tint of hatred towards the 'god' that abandoned them.

This is not a misconception. Atheist foundation of logic is Science. Atheists reason with facts and evidence - which is related to science. Atheism doubts religious earth creation theories but believe in 'big bang theory' and evolution. All because it is scientifically approved.

You are partially right. But then, believing in evolution indicates doubt in one's religion. Not necessary for an evolutionist to be an atheist, they could be agnostic.

Atheism plays an important role in science, in fact atheism removes all limit in the 'world of science.'
