Great people know that our real eyes, the ones which determine whether we are a success, are not the ones in our heads. Our true eyes which determine whether we are far sighted or not are within us. First impression matters, but it is not always the true representation, though there is rarely a second chance to make a second impression.

By substance, I mean worth. A man's real worth is always who he is within. Far-sighted people know that intangible riches are the creators of the tangible things people long for. Any man may be swayed by the beauty of a lady, but it takes a sensible man to know what to look for in a woman.

Appearance can be very misleading. But as for your parents' case, there are things which these parents of ours see which we cannot see. There is a saying that "what an old man will see when he is seated at the foot of a mountain, a young man on the summit of the mountain will not see it." It does not take a wise old man hours to tell when his daughter comes home with a sensible man who is got substance.

Why are you all embittered against these men of God? I'm not in any way trying to justify them - neither do I condemn them. The Good Book says "judge not so that you will not be judged." It is God Who has the true report card of these men. His judgement is impartial and final. We do not have anytthing to gain by condemning these men or anybody for that matter.

It is amazing how we humans enjoy to see others fall so that we could have a feeling that they are not better than we are.I would like to paraphrase Charles Spurgeon: "Dogs won't eat dogs, but we humans tear each other down with relish." Small minds derive their sense of importance by looking for the falls and faults of those who are great. Pastor Adeboye is a man of God, not a God of man. His family is just as susceptible to Satan's antics as much as ours. In fact, his family is a special target. If we won't pray for him, then let us stop making an issue out of it.
