Our leaders are just a fair and perfect slice of who we are as a people.

wale.star:
I have read a bible and I never thought Jesus had a wife or girlfriend in his life. How I wish I could be like him, thought I have slept with over 20 women in life and 3 relationship so far but now I want to change and be like Jesus now,
Being like does not mean not getting married. You need to have a personal experience of God's grace. Commit your life to Christ.
RomanceRe: Strange But True. . .! by herniec(f): 10:23am On Oct 16, 2009
I need to stern. Your softness suggests that a part of you wants her. If you cannot but visit her home, then take a strong stance. Do not sound her as someone suggested, but let her know she should look elsewhere.
CultureRe: Why Are we Nigerians So Materialistic? by herniec(f): 8:59am On Oct 16, 2009
Let's look at it well. Has our cravings for material things not blinded most of us? Are religious bodies not infested with the same virus? A man cannot afford to sponsor his children's education. Yet he has money to throw around at parties, buy expensive lace material, declare surplus for friends at joints, maintain a second wife he does not need, . . . ? In a bid to show off, we gadly eat up our tomorrow today. This same disease is what is plaguing our political, ecnomic, social, and religious life. It is extremely hard in Nigeria to be rich and yet maintain a simple lifestyle. Where on earth do the most foolish rich people live? Is it not in Nigeria? Foolish rich people who could afford the best and lastest cars, yet they run short of common sense to make the roads are good enough for their cars. Are they not the myopic ones who build houses without giving thought to where the water comes from? Borehole? Nonsense! We are backward because our views are wrong. Our minds are our biggest problem. We need renewed minds, else we will keep suffering amidst plenty and perhap die in it. Not the kind of political rebranding we see around us.
Christianity EtcRe: What Is Your Opinion About Hell? by herniec(f): 12:48pm On Oct 14, 2009
Eeyore:
Yet some more drivel that doesn't point to an iota of truth or evidence to the existence of a lake of fire where God sadistically roasts people who do not believe in Him.
Wait until you see it for yourself. Then, you will believe. God is good - and He loves you.
Christianity EtcRe: What Is Your Opinion About Hell? by herniec(f): 12:26pm On Oct 14, 2009
It will be a comforting thought to think that hell is a mere concept. If hell does not exit, why make efforts to live life the way God wants? If there is no punishment or reward after death, let's go about satisfying every desire and craving that appeals to us. Hell is not a concept or product of man's imagination. Man does not cease to exist after death; there is life after death. Why should I wait until it is too late for me to live with consciousness that there is hell? Why should any sane soul wait until it is too late to live life as God wants? Thank God for science. But, science is a poor tool for explaining things of God. I like to remember the words of George Washington: "It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible."

OOOOH shut it. Its an apparent contradiction. Looks have nothing to do with attraction.
Bros, I just want to pull your legs. Bless your soul. But, for some people looks determine whether they will ever consider someone for any serious relationship. Our values are not exactly the same.

CultureRe: Why Are we Nigerians So Materialistic? by herniec(f): 1:05pm On Oct 13, 2009
It is because we have a wrong value system. Acquisition of material things seems to be the only way we can show people that we are doing fine in our pursuits. Is it not the same thing that has corrupted even our religious leaders? We generally define our worth by things - money, cars, clothings, houses, etc.

What are your spiritual aspirations?
Christianity EtcRe: New Here-please Help by herniec(f): 1:04pm On Oct 12, 2009
You really do not need those complex wordings to know God personally. I do not mind sending you some very simplified teachings of the Bible that would help know God intimately. The teachings include some expositions on sin, salvation, spiritual warfare, the Holy Spirit, etc. What exactly are you searching for? We could chat online if you do not mind. Here's my mail: princehernie@yahoo.com
Christianity EtcRe: New Here-please Help by herniec(f): 12:46pm On Oct 12, 2009
The Grail movement appears harmless on the surface and seems to bear some semblance with Christianity in some of its teachings. But the truth is that you should keep off from them if you want to really know God. They appear to have answers to some of life's problems and questions. Real salvation comes from a simple faith in the death of JESUS CHRIST. The Bible teaches that you should steer clear of teachings that questions, that make you doubt some of the basics of Christianity. Some of their teachings include reincarnation, etc.

Very silly talk. You need a girl to disvirgin you? First, there is no word like disvirgin in classic english. Second, why don't keep your virginity until the right time when you get married? You don't need to fall for the lies of experimenting sex before marriage. You will do just fine when you get married. When it is time, you will not fail the performance test.

Christianity EtcRe: Attributes Of God by herniec(f): 6:20pm On Sep 29, 2009
The attributes of God include:

1. His omnipotence
2. His self-existence
3. His immutability
4. His omnipresence
5. His omniscience

The natural mind of mortals cannot understand God. For instance, it is quite unexplainable how Jesus is God. Whether God is a:

1. Shield
2. Light
3. Fortress
4 etc.

His name "I am that I am" (that is, Ehyeh asher Ehyeh) means "I will be anything to you as the occassion demands." So, we see Him manifest in diverse forms. He is the all-sufficient God.

It is a pity that there are still people like your brother who think it is abnormal for things to be normal. he's so attuned to what is bad that good is a misnormal to you. I'm tempted to pray that God should give your brother a lady that would be a nightmare to him.

Christianity EtcRe: Why do preachers change their spots around the rich and mighty? by herniec(f): 10:27am On Sep 28, 2009
@Tudor, if you really mean to protect the innocent as you claim, then you should do what the Bible says. The best way to protect the innocent is to preach and teach the truth. Your intention is noble, but your method is questionable. As an individual who is interseted in helping the innocent, you should focus on teaching the Word. Anybody can do what are doing now. But how many are truly involved in teaching the Word of Salvation? How many souls have you preach Christ to this years? If you are really burdened for souls, "preach the word; be instant in season and out of season. do the work of an evangelist." It is well with your soul.
Christianity EtcRe: Why do preachers change their spots around the rich and mighty? by herniec(f): 10:19am On Sep 28, 2009
You seem to know the Bible well. But it is equally important to understand english well enough to aviod misinterpretation of the word. It is "test all spirits", not "criticise all spirits." It is not given to any of us to say whether these men are servants of God. What exactly is the root of the bitterness you are exuding against these men. If you find these men to be false representatives of God, the best and wise decision is not to follow them. I have men of God that I have similar disposition towards. I do not judge them or speak ill of them, because it is written "speak evil of no man." If you are such a pure soul, why do you consentrate your energies on doing some rather constructive works that would earn some eternal rewards?
