@ademo, infact i ve a similar problem with u. it seems to me that my ISP is not giving me my complete bandwidth atimes. i asked them to give me my RGM username and password they refused cos they know i will telnet and get the info. when are we getting something that will bail us out of this mess? God will help us.

I beg Network gurus in the house rescue me. i have a network of 50 systems with a server on win server 2003 platform, just suddenly this morning the systems stoped browsing exception of the server. all my troubleshooting skills have been exhausted trying to find de solution. please help me, i checked whether the antivirus was blocking access to the net but found nothing. there is the local area connetion but not internet connection.
please help. one morething, the ip address generation is dhcp .

Meanwhile, the ISP am using is netcom africa, n i ve called them, they confirmed they are giving me my dedicated bandwith. also, i realesed that as soon as some systems are put off the network, the internet performance improves and am still using the same bandwith i usually use and my network has not being slow at all. my LAN is quite fast and ok. i downloaded Apyware terminator and scanned yet no improvement. In fact, am still awaiting more contribution

I was formerly using win xp for my network server system, then just replaced it with win server 2003 cos the win xp was incosistent and not capable of carrying about fifty systems on the network. and after all installation and configuration, the browisng become dam too slow, i cant figure out what the problem is now. am using Norton 2007 antivirus and have downloaded spyware terminator on it. pls is there anything i can do to make it browse faster?

i tested the cable with the tester and it read perfectly well. but when i tried it on the switch it ddnt even detect the connection.
I used crossover for switch to switch, but ve forgotten whether its supposed to be straightthrough or so.

pls i want to link a switch to a switch on a lan some distance apart. its being working dat way b4 not until somebody mistakenly cut d wire with a lorry, and after replacement it doesnt work anymore.
So to connect switch to switch is it crossover or straightthrough cabling method? and what could be the reason its not connected?

u see, to me i believe this ur topic is just like coming out to ask   WHICH RELIGION IS THE BEST IN THE WHOLE WORLD . bc in this forum now, there are different people from diverse religious backgrounds and beliefs.
