Education / Re: ASUU Vows That Universities Will Remain Shut by heroes1983(m): 6:00am On Aug 16, 2009
After reading this crappy news somebody expects me to come back to nigeria and settle( I purposely left letter ‘n ‘ in small letter cos I have no respect for this country). If you can find your way out of that crappy hole, just take it. nigeria is murderer of professionals. Just look at common Ghana, how their higher institutions are flowing as it should be. I know 5 specialists who within the past 8 months have migrated to Ghana and now teach in various Ghanaian higher institutions. How many foreigners are at present lecturing in any nigerian university? (apart from university of Ibadan, which is really doing a good work).

Im sorry if my statements offend anyone but, I will rather be an elementary school teacher here than a lecturer in nigeria, at least until something is done.

And please don’t give me that crap of coming home and building nigeria, mess that…, how many have gone home before to at least make a small reform only to be threatened by these pot bellied idiots !!!!!

nairalanders will always make my evening very exciting with their scandals, grin grin grin grin grin just couldn’t hold back the emotions, i better edit my profile and proffread, sorry!!!! i meant proofread every word before hitting reply,

Anyway sha!! I graduated this summer and hope to start service as soon as possible. I would want to know the latest date to be in Abuja so that I could join the November batch.
Secondly, is the rumor that internationally trained graduates no more have the ability of choosing which state to serve true?
Lastly, under which criteria are graduates posted to their final place of service (i.e. company, ministry, etc)

Can anyone here please give me an advice? I got a degree in genetics and would soon be completing my M.res in oncology. Planning of coming home when i finish. Was wondering, is there is any oncology research institute or laboratory in Nigeria i could work with/for? and are there any pre-requisites before i could work in Nigeria like joining any association or taking an extra course?

@bernard08, those are some high classed links there on your blog. Gr8. just book-marked your site for further references. Thanks.
The immunohistochemical diagnosis of malignant growing cells/carcinoma really caught my attention. I really dont get 1 aspect of it,  i think these antibody markers are more useful for research with stem/potent cells, formalin-fixed biopsies, endoscopical muosal resection or surgical specimens that have already been diagnosed as carcinoma, adenoma, etc  (through routine histopathological examination) or isolated tissue samples form lab animals rather than for human diagnosis at least not on all tissues (unless the patient doesnt mind part of his heart sliced out). There are other methods of identification of carcinoma which proves not only the presence of such cells but pin points its location for further isolation (if no metastasis yet). And also these antibodies are way out of the reach in terms of finance and transportation to a warm tropical african country

Hello everyone,  very happy that at have co lab researchers here from nigeria. Keep the forum up please
Health / Re: I Bed Wet At My Fiance Place by heroes1983(m): 8:01pm On Jun 12, 2009
I used to bed wet often till when i was about 10 years. As a matter of fact all by brothers and sisters bed wetted till just about the same age. I began to suspect it was something heritable so i asked my mum and she also confessed that she also bed wetted till her mid primary school age. However, i found out that everytime i have a particular dream (me peeing in the toilet or on the street), at that same moment is when i bed wet. I got myself acustomed to this nightmare and wake up just in time to go to the toilet everytime. Even in my present early 30 s i still have this dream and always make it to the toilet on time.
Health / Re: Remedy For Bad Breath! by heroes1983(m): 7:38pm On Jun 12, 2009
Bad breath is not only due to oral problems. It could also be due to intestinal problems such as ulcers. I just think the best thing is for your friend to go see a doctor and take a full analysis before it is too late.
Health / Re: Day Time Sex: Implication by heroes1983(m): 7:33pm On Jun 12, 2009
@ kx, i couldnt hold my breath when reading that.

From my own point of view if a girl insists that she would have sex only in the dark or entirely covered with bedsheets, my broda that is the right time to think twice about ever having sex with her. She is either trying to hide something from you about her body or vigina or as kx implied usig you as her means of travelling to the underworld grin grin grin grin
