Education › Do You Perform Rag Days In Your School? by heykims(op): 8:29am On Oct 12, 2013
I was on my way to work a few days ago and I saw this guy deliberately dressed in torn clothes and singlets superficially worn, with an empty beverage tin in hand. I knew right away that the guy was performing a notorious rite peculiar to certain higher institutions. Some institutions tag a certain number of days 'Rag Days' in which students go into town and some even invade distant cities to perform this notorious rite. On theses days, you see male and female students in crazy outfits, torn clothes, singlets, asymmetrically cut pairs of trousers, females and even some males in superficially placed bras, funny and unfitting pairs of footwares, very glaring and prominently white-powdered faces and they have this characteristic empty beverage tins with the open end sealed only to spare a slit-like space in which u slide in d money they solicit for as they go around town soliciting for money telling u any amount would do even a five naira. The last time i saw those guys was actually years ago before I even got into the university. Now, I'm as good as being a graduate and seeing this guy just reminded of those days and I realised I never saw any of my colleagues in school(LAUTECH) do those things during my sojourn as an undergraduate.
So guys tell this forum:
Do u perform Rag days in your school?
What days do you perform it?
What is the rationale behind Rag days?
What is ur personal view of Rag days?

Education › Re: Osun Begins 4-5-3 Educational System, collapses Pry, Secondary Schools by heykims(m): 3:54pm On Oct 02, 2013
dharrey2012: For those who doesn't understand d system; according to the government, its divided into 3.
ELEMENTARY- dis comprises of pupils for pry1 to Pry4
MIDDLE- student for pry5 and pry6 + Jss1-Jss3.
SENIOR- ss1 to ss3

So the government has merged pry5 and pry6 of primary skul wif secondary skul. They also created new High skuls by moving away students in junior sections of dos skuls. In osogbo there are only 3 senior skuls for thousands of students. With this system, there is no pry 6 certificate any more and am not sure there is gonna b common entrance exams too.
The government is just totally Confused.
talk for ursef, dharrey is confused..

[quote author=A-town]I know it is from dawn to dusk. The only think bothering me is that dawn to dusk is not the same for everyone. Will the people in Alaska get better rewards than those in Nigeria for fasting longer? Again, i'm trying to be educated. Politics › Re: Maryam Yaro (Sanusi's Alleged Girlfriend) Is A CBN Consultant by heykims(m): 1:52pm On Jun 04, 2013
femikay149: 1.Pls listen 2 urself shariah is no concern to nigerians meanwhile it is being practised in northern states..Ur response clearly shows your ignorance...Some poor people are punished for this under shari law in the north..which Sanusi himself is a strong supporter of such laws..
2.Did u notice that the press statement didn't deny the chartered flight, hotel bills etc...pls there is no smoke without fire...
its u dt isnt getting it. Are u saying dt coz shariah is being practiced in parts of the north with sanusi himsef being advocate, d national constitution sud be sidelined nd he sud be summoned to d shariah court or wat u implying? As far as d national judicial system is concerned, shariah is a novice system nd sud be ignored. U as a person am sure is against shariah nd now canvassing for it coz u want to nail lamido. Hypocrites!!
2. D CBN issued a report just to clear off any mess wch is very much in contrary to d earlier press report. If u really read dt earlier report, it was so detailed dt u'd believe it outrightly. But wt d latest report frm d CBN, i dont believe an atom of dt earlier fabricated lie..
Politics › Re: Maryam Yaro (Sanusi's Alleged Girlfriend) Is A CBN Consultant by heykims(m): 10:09am On Jun 04, 2013
femikay149: People still don't get the issues @ hand:
1.Sanusi has a diploma in sharia law and always backed the sharia law:so according to sharia law he has committed adultery..someone answer me what is the punishment for this under sharia law?...His Intergrity is in doubt(also this goes 2 prove that sharia law is for the poor..and more political dan a religious issue)
2.The chattered flight and hotel expenses were paid for with tax payers money so wether he is sleeping around is not the issue...
Intergrity is Key in any organistion ..let's not 4get he didn't deny the affair and hotel rom 023 wherehe was alleged to have lodged...
1. even if he had PhD in shariah is no concern to nigerians, dts him and his shariah brethrens business, not urs, not mine..
2. Plz wats ur source dt d chattered flight nd hotel expenses funding is fron d tax payers' money. Nd am sure u wont refer me to d blatant lie nd d fabricated story of d earlier press report...
Politics › Re: Maryam Yaro (Sanusi's Alleged Girlfriend) Is A CBN Consultant by heykims(m): 9:42am On Jun 04, 2013
Kx: “Dr. Yaro was hired after a rigorous selection process conducted by the NIRSAL Project Implementation Office. This clearly contradicts the claim that Dr. Yaro was brought in by the CBN Governor.
She was one of four consultants (three of whom were male), hired by the Nigeria Incentive-based Risk-sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL) Plc; on a one year contract,

Na wao.
The refutal did nt help matters at all.
Whether she is/was a consultant or a staff, this clearly shows that she had some job to do for and with the CBN at the time in question.

We can as well say a contract staff is not a staff becos he or she is not a permanent staff.
Premium times may just be right after all.
u see an obvious truth nd u still find it difficult to succumb mr fool. Anyway just believe wat u'd like to hear....are u now happyhuh
