Operatives of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) of the Anambra State Police Command have uncovered a case of murder in Amichi, Nnewi South Local Government Area of the state, leading to the arrest a 35-year-old suspect, Chukwudalu Ezeani.

The suspect was nabbed over the alleged killing of his 52-year-old cousin, Chinedu Ezeani, eight months after he was declared missing.

According to a statement issued over the week by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the incident, which initially appeared as a case of disappearance, was reported at the Amichi Police Station in August 2025, following the sudden absence of the victim. He, however, said the matter took a dramatic turn after detectives revisited the case based on credible intelligence.

The PPRO said preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect allegedly killed the cousin on August 1, 2025, at about 8:00 p.m. at his residence in Afube Village, Amichi, buried him in a shallow grave within his compound in an attempt to conceal the crime. He was also alleged to have joined in searching for the victim as a missing person; and successfully concealed the act for about eight months.

However, the Police Spokesman, said that the breakthrough came after detectives revisited the case based on credible intelligence which led to the arrest and interrogation of the suspect who eventually confessed to killing the victim. The suspect also led police operatives to the place where he buried the victim in a shallow grave within his compound, and from where the cørpse was exhumed in the course of the investigation.

According to the PPRO, the exhumed cørpse have been deposited for necessary forensic examination, while the suspect is currently under custody and would be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of ongoing investigations.

Reaffirming its commitment to justice, the Anambra State Police Command urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities promptly, noting that timely information remains crucial in combating crime and ensuring the safety of lives and property across the state.

exactly.im on bandA I’m sure of atleast 23hrs light daily.but with the size of my house I will be doing upto 300k monthly on bills.so I just used about 7m to do solar.now I only use nepa one hour in 3days when I want to pump water.i live on solar.i no get nepa power.

All the mockery was targeted at Dele and his brand. He did not insult or include his family . People should learn to separate issues during a fight. Femi was once hospitalised in a psychiatric hospital in Ghana. This fact was revealed while they tried to clear him for ministerial position under Obasanjo. Dele too has not overtime exercise any great judgement. Both are birds of a feather that flock together. Sadly, these are type of characters that parade purely political landscape.
