According to sources close to the family, the incident dates back to around 2010, when Lucky and Uzoma reportedly killed Orindu during a heated dispute. Instead of reporting the crime or seeking help, the brothers allegedly buried his body in an uncompleted building within their family compound, concealing it under a mound of trash and plastic bottles. For over a decade and a half, they maintained a facade of normalcy, telling relatives, neighbors, and friends that Orindu had simply traveled abroad and lost contact.

The truth unraveled dramatically on February 10, 2026, when another sibling, who had been absent from the family home for more than 16 years, returned unexpectedly. This brother, whose identity has not been disclosed pending ongoing investigations, harbored suspicions about Orindu's disappearance. Acting on instinct, he went directly to the suspected burial site in the abandoned structure. To the horror of those present, his suspicions were confirmed: digging revealed the skeletal remains of what authorities later identified as Orindu Amadi.

Local police from the Imo State Command were immediately alerted, and an exhumation was carried out under supervision. Preliminary forensic examinations confirmed the remains belonged to a male in his late 30s at the time of death, matching Orindu's profile. The brothers were swiftly detained and are currently being interrogated at the state police headquarters in Owerri.
