I was in PH, Omoku and Obrikom last week. The only political party in existence in all those communities is APC. Every single local person I interacted with told me they are supporting APC. When I tried to bring up Amaecni and ADC, the people laughed at me. One person even told me to follow who know road. I don't know about FCT o because of its cosmopolitan nature. But you see Rivers State, it has gone to APC already. We should be talking about the margin of victory right now and not who is going to win. Wike has that state fully on lockdown.

Yes, but massive projects everywhere can never be achieved without borrowing. Which one is better borrowing to subsidised fake petroleum products with larger % smuggled to the neighbours country or borrowing for massive development and job creation. Not everyone buy fuel that is subsidised but everyone uses the facilities built by the government with borrowing.

When you say massive project you mean coastal rail that his friend is handling while many federal roads are in bad shape.

The question is was Nigeria ok and leaving like comfortably when subsidy was in place? I remembered spending 48hours in the filling station and every one started jubilation as soon as we sighted a tanker if fuel arriving. It was discharged and was not sold at old price That was how bad it was.

Subsidy can be returned, but since every action comes with his consequences, it will end that subsidy is returned and the petrol price remains at ₦1000 with enough scarcity because Dangote will focus on 100% exportation . The we can go back to massive smuggling in the borders while states owes salaries. These are expected consequences

Do you guys not get it that Nigeria can never gain first-world development without ridding herself of subsidies in several sectors that are glorified tools of weaponised poverties leaders use to keep Nigerians happy with having virtually nothing ( cars, homes, finest education, healthcare etc) and being some of the poorest and most underdeveloped people in the world?

We have poor power supply because of none cost-reflective tariffs due to electricity subsidy. Nigeria paid little to nothing for power yet the debilitating and catch 22 effect is that our national grid, for decades, suffered hideous under-investment and rot.

Meaning we are now at a stage where we need a massive amount of money to give most States reliable power and drive SME growth, Manufacturing, industrialisation, export and national trade surplus.

All things we need to become an economic powerhouse and the legitimate giant of Africa that will throw South Africa, Egypt etal in the sand easily.


Why does Atiku not promise reversal of privatisation of power also so that we do not have stable power for the next 20 years or so since investors will stay away from a "privatised" power sector because Nigerians cannot pay the real cost it takes to generate, distribute and transmit power this discouraging investors?

Higher education, dirt cheap because it is heavily subsidized yet we are producing low quality graduates, and moniepoint CEO confirmed this, who cannot handle the jobs foreigners are in Nigeria operating. Poor teachers and poor facilities in a sector that needs high investment to produce those who can build the finest societies.

Subsidizing Naira nko? Abetting currency arbitrage favouring North alone with their bureau de Change mastery yet damaging Nigeria horrendously. Nigeria is world central bank of the year 2026, an award we have never won, because of the fiscal discipline and reforms Cardoso has initiated.

Perhaps Atiku should promise Nigerians he will return subsidy of the Naira also.

These are basic economic theories, that led to the rise of developed nations, any adult should be able to wrap there head around. We must transition toward what will make Nigeria and Nigerians great and developed even if that comes with 10 to 15 years of pain and sacrifice.

What we failed to do for decades has caught up with us and no option but to embrace some discomfort for a far brighter future as folks of developed nations enjoy.

The money given to Govs what are they doing with it.,it's better the people benefit directly
