hmmm....Kim soo hyun nominated for daesang again?I think Kim hye ja will carry the trophy though.The ahjumma has won about 7 daesangs(she was popular in the 90's).Giving the award to ksh might accumulate hate for him and knetz would take it as a disrespect to the lady.

I watched the eps again to be sure, and GM's sis was in court the day JW accused him of being the real murderer.

Doesn't she recognise him as the boy that accused her brother? This one she's taking him out for coffee.

I don't know whether she recognized him.Jin woo was young back then.
As for taking him out for coffee, I think she is slowly developing interest in him.
I swear,there are so many characters in this drama that I wanna know what's going on in their head,I just can't figure some of them out.

I am watching the show( yep..I'm adding this drama to my list of dramas. I'm expecting my money for Seoul trip from you girls. I wanna be a citizen.lol).

I love how the characters are being portrayed. Now that jinwoo is out for blood(literally) I hope he's smart about it. I love the father-son scenes that it gets me worried on how JW can help his father who has Alzheimer. How will they judge him? His condition is getting worse. And JW needs to be smart and i hope he can make INha and DG cone together as a unit. right now, its not happening.

As for Dongho,I want to believe that there is a hidden agenda to what he's doing. like getting solid evidence but at the same time being irritating by being on GM's side. Maybe it unintentional. I pray there really is a motive. He's a character I'm finding hard to read like what is he really up to? Or maybe his willingness to sacrifice JW's dad's case is because of His own father's ish with GM's dad?

Gyuman, this psycho though, feeling all high an mighty(well,he's high and mighty cuz if his father. The father na case for another day). its because of the power behind him that he has confidence in doing what he's doing. With the case of the VP, I am very very very sure that GM is behind it. I mean,its obvious.
As for the romance..lol..Gyuman is evil but is he any different from gwi? I'm not sure I will adhere to the Romance between In ha and GM but I can stand seeing GM have a thing for IH. Although I get the sense that his romance will be brutal. Again I ask, is GM any different from GWI? I hope you understand why I'm comparing the two characters. That elevator scene sent chill down my spine though. haha.

We have seen GM cower under dad. That is the only person he's scared of. Why? what's the reason behind it? why did GM turn out the way he is? There is absolutely no justification for the nonsense he did and is STILL doing but there must be a reason,right?
watching IRY has opened up my mind that Psychos are either born/ made. Is there a little humanity in GM?

Remember is a structured show and you have to sit down and watch carefully to understand why things happen.
Look at that Judge, he's very Observant and I think he's on the good side(for now,anything can happen later).

I think Dongho has a hidden agenda too.I just can't figure the guy out.my mind tells me he's secretly on Jin woo's side.He doesn't want him hurt,for e.g,he told those thugs to quit beating him and told him to steer clear of Gyu man and his family.

I really don't want any romance between Gm and In ha.I agree with you,the romance would be brutal.

Is Gyu man any different from Gwi?honestly,I've been asking myself the same question. Gyu man is no Gwi to me.Not saying this cos I find him attractive,the actor that plays Gyu man is also attractive IMO. I think there was a hint of vulnerability in Gwi(at least he showed some remorse when hye reong died)that I don't find in Gyu man.Gyu man is downright ruthless,a spoilt brat and hasn't shown any remorse whatsoever. I think the actor plays him so well that you can't help but hate the character,he needs an award.

As for the question of whether there's a little humanity in Gm,don't really know for now,only time will tell.maybe he would show some remorse later.

yeah,I noticed how observant the judge was.I think he is on the good side for now.He gave room for the defense attorney(jin woo) to speak cos he believed the defendant was innocent.I just hope he won't be swayed to the bad side.

I knew right away that the vice president was innocent, what I didn't know was that it was Gyu Man's dad that set him up. I thought it was Gyu Man himself.

I wonder how Stam-yer went from being daddy Jin Woo's lawyer to Jin Woo's associate. And where did the ahjumma in his firm come from? She knows everything about his father and his beef with Ilho group.

The cute judge has a crush on In Ah but he's Gyu Man's friend. Why does that guy have friends in high places sef?
I'm still trying to figure his Sister out. Is she really in the dark about her family's dirty side? Or is she just pretending not to know.

Same with me,didn't know Gyu man's dad set the VP up(thought it was only NGM)cos he commended him earlier when they were doing board of directors meeting or so.

I was also surprised when I saw the stammerer lawyer working alongside Jin woo,I just hope he is not an accomplice.The bad guys are scary,they can pay off anyone,hope he won't turn against jin woo.
The hottie judge is Nam gyu man's school mate,they may bring him to their side.
As for NGM's sis,the girl seems like a b*tch,my mind tells me she knows her family's secret but is just keeping quiet about it.

I can't believe that some peeps on dramabeans are talking about a possible love line between NGM and In ah.They shouldn't allow that psycho near In ah.He should love only himself,like the selfish bastard he is.Thanks to him,an innocent man has been rotting away in prison for four good years.

They are still courting Lee jun ki and IU for moon lovers sageuk.can't believe that knetz are still hating on IU,calling her a bad actress.She is a good actress jare,better than bad actresses like Suzy etc.

@Atk01,That Song seung heon is such a bad actor.Dude has been acting since I was crawling on all fours(toddler) but never improves.I watched Autumn tale and his acting was so bad there.I watched My princess, but couldn't finish the drama.Maybe he has improved or maybe it's just me.

I agree that he is handsome but we don't watch dramas only for handsome faces,lol.

I've also read about a particular Korean actress though I've forgotten the name, she complained of her partner ie. the lead actor being a smoker, so for her to agree to do a kissing scene with him, they had to come to an agreement that the actor must not smoke for at least two hours before they start filming.
so imagine how the lady will feel when kissing someone who still have traces of cigarettes smells in his mouth. definitely her reactions at that moment will be awkward, and not relaxed.
do you notice that park shin hye's total acting and kissing scenes in Pinnochio is a lot better than The Heirs.
bad directing is also a part of it,

so I just believe that there are many things that are not opened to us audience which can cause lack of chemistry between lead actors and actresses.

I agree with you.onscreen chemistry of an actor/actress equals their offscreen chemistry.

Lol....I think the actress you 're referring to is Lee bo young(ji sung's wifey) and the actor is Lee jong suk. jong suk is known for taking smoke breaks during filming(fans who visited Pinocchio set said so),Which raises the question.... why Shin hye was more comfortable with him but not Min ho who is also a smoker.

Yeah,bad directing is also one of the factors that influence the chemistry of actors/actresses,I have explained that already.

@hilda90 i think it's the feeling you have off-screen that you carry on screen,and that is the reason why if you don't have a good rapport with your partner off-screen,it could affect your delivery.A very good example is park shin hye and lee jong suk,she was so calm and there was no awkwardness within,and then i was like how did she pull it off?i've seen 4 of her dramas,but i have never seen her so comfortable,so most times it solely depends on how much you feel comfortable with your partner,healer is also a good example,not only because wookie is a good actor,but also cos of his comfortability with PMY,you cant feel off with ur co-star and have great chemistry,it is impossicant.my 2 cents.

Yeah,I agree with you.The off screen chemistry affects the onscreen chemistry of actors/actresses.
As for shin hye and jong suk,I believe that Shin hye was more comfortable with jong suk than Min ho.In her case,I don't even know if was the matter of having an affinity for this actor but not the other actor.
Her face during the kiss scene of heirs was as if Min ho was plastering sh*t on her tongue,lol.
yeah,Wookie is always comfortable with his costars, I wonder how he does it.I bet wookie can make Shin hye kiss well,I want them to star in a drama together.

@hilda90, I really don't know but it can happen for a variety of reasons.
If the actors are familiar and comfortable with each other it'll reflect on their romantic scenes.

Some actors are just chemistry overload. Kim So Eun is an example. She was good with Kim Bum in BOF, with SJR in We got Married and look at swwtn with LSH.

Then there's the case of having the hots for your co-star, like Queen In Hyun's man. The actors fell in love on set and that reflected in their on-screen romance,

Then there's the directing. I think good directing can salvage a bad on-screen romance. You know sometimes hugs can be more romantic than a kiss. So if the actors are uncomfortable with a kiss, a good director should settle for a hug instead of forcing an awkward kiss scene.

That's just my opinion sha.

I agree with you,actors and actresses being comfortable with each other will make them have more chemistry, but in some cases they won't be able to deliver the romantic scenes well.For e.g,Shin hye and yong hwa have been good friends since you're beautiful, they reunited again in the drama heartstrings,but their romantic scenes were awkward as hell.You need to watch their bts. yong hwa was so shy to kiss shin hye on the lips,despite them being comfortable with each other. Which makes me think it depends on the individual actor or actress.

I haven't started watching kdramas in 2011 when city hunter was aired but when I watched the bts of the drama,I was like.......these guys were an item even without reading about their dating news.There was a scene where they were watching their kiss scene on a phone(I think it was recorded there),and they were so comfortable doing that.

yeah,directing plays an important role also.good directors improve the onscreen chemistry of actors and actresses while bad directors do otherwise. for instance,I believe that the person who directed the drama heirs was a bad director cos he would have told advised shin hye to relax her face a bit,even if the kiss was painful for her.or he would have told Min ho to tone down the kiss a bit.
Again,I believe some bad directors are the cause of dead fish kisses.Can you believe that the director of bof pulled that dead fish kiss on min ho.He wanted to do a real kiss but the director told him to give Ku hye sun a Peck on the lips,imagine how that would look onscreen.......Dead fish kiss 101.
same with that first kiss Jang Nara and seo in guk did in iry,dude really wanted to move his lips but the director told him to keep still,that one is forgivable cos it was needed for that scene.

A regular commenter on drama beans asked this question on db open thread few months ago,I was happy to read the opinions of different people on the subject.So I just wanna know what you guys think about it.

so the question is......Why do actors/actresses have chemistry in dramas?Why does a Korean actor have chemistry with a particular actress in a drama but no chemistry with another actress in another drama?
for e.g Lee min ho had more chemistry with son hye jin in personal taste than park shin hye in heirs.So my questions are:
1.Is it because the actor isn't comfortable with the female actress? (Yoo chun once said he was very uncomfortable with a particular female lead and people were saying it reflected on their romantic scenes)
2.is it a case of bad directing?
3.Do they have more chemistry with their female leads cos they have romantic feelings for them(yeah,some actors date their female costars after filming like Lee min ho-park min young,hyun bin-song hye kyo,Eugene and her present hubby,Park shin hye-lee jong suk(they were rumoured to be dating earlier this year but denied it).
4.is it because of their filming atmosphere?(I watched you re beautiful bts some time ago,PSH,sukkie,hong ki,yong hwa and Uee were very playful on set and I think it reflected on their acting.same with secret garden&empress ki).
5.Is it cos a particular actor or actress was moody at the time of shooting (I know the director is there to guide them but asking someone who is angry to force a smile can be uncomfortable and it may reflect on the acting).
6.is it because a particular actor or actress is bad at acting?(I don't think being a good actor can make you have more chemistry with your female costars.Some good actors are so awkward in romantic scenes while some bad actors are good in romantic scenes.
7.Does it depend on the actor himself(there are actors that are known for having chemistry with all their female leads.Ji Chang wook is a good example and so many others.
Besides, I keep noticing that drama couples these days don't always have chemistry.

Scholar who walks the night(from the middle to ending was boring, just stuck to it for Gwi,didn't dig Lee jun ki and Yoo bi's chemistry either).
She was pretty(the last four EPs was a little boring but I loooved the drama,the comedy was top notch)

it seems Kim hyun joong's case is gonna die down a little now,it has been going on like forever.
They have confirmed the paternity of the child,the child is his.Finally,the drama(as knetz call it) has come to an end,enough already.

That family is dysfunctional. At his age, he still cowers like a f.ool before his dad, and that one still hits him. I'm sure his sister believes he is the culprit, but she's trying to pretend it's not true.

Away from those annoying folks, that stammerer lawyer is just so funny. The was a scene in eps 2 end and eps3 beginning where the judge asked if he had any witness in defense of his client.
And he wanted to say there was none (eobs eum mida...pardon my spellings, Hangul isn't my first language. ). The way he dragged the word ehn, I was rolling over with laughter.
I just hope there are no lawyers like that in real life.

It might be weird, but I'm a fan of crying scenes- if the actor is cute that it.

I'm not a fan of crying scenes.I'm easily moved to tears and I find myself crying along with them sometimes, cried so much when I was watching ep4,lol.That's why I don't like heavy melodramas.

I'm a bit upset with that attorney too, even though I know his hands were tied. Jin Woo's dad just had bad luck with his lawyers. First the stammerer, and then the Satoori speaking attorney.


On a side note, YSH is such a good actor. The way he's able to convey his emotions, I'm loving it.

Yeah,Gyu Nam and his family are bunch of idiots.His father is even worse,he should have reprimanded him but covered for him instead.
I was so pissed at the attorney that betrayed jin woo and his dad,he got swayed by his hyun's words.yeah,I know he raised him and all, but c'mon he should have considered the poor boy and his dad.Now it's gonna come back and bite him in the a$s.

I know it's not funny,but i always find myself laughing so hard whenever that stammerer lawyer starts speaking in court.The way he stammers makes me laugh and the funniest part is that he is not a natural-born stammerer,he has a sort of courtroom phobia.


yeah,Yoo seung ho is a good actor.No more crying scene for him,my heart breaks whenever he cries.
