After winning the 2019 election, Jonathan should immediately setup a legal taskforce with the sole aim of exploiting loop holes or creating legal gateways that would enable him jail Lai mohammed, femi adesina and garba shehu for sedition and manipulation of public information. Failure to do so would make me become his biggest critic. |

I salute your bravery, Mr Abati. Even against the tirades of his selfish, vengeful, jealous tribe, he put out the truth. That's what GEJ does to people. He makes them put the country first before their ethnicity. In this new age of nationalist patriots, join us in putting Nigeria first before tribe GEJ 2019, bring the transformer back. |
Contrary to public sentiments that members of ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan’s cabinet enjoyed working with him because of his alleged leniency towards corrupt people, his then media adviser, Mr. Reuben Abati, has said that he had no regrets working with Jonathan, because of the many lessons and quality exposure that he received under him. Abati said this on Sunday night while fielding questions from the media on life in the Presidential Villa. He described working under the former President as going to the ‘University of Life,’ saying that even those who were his critics would have had something to learn if they got into arena of state power at that time. The former presidential spokesman said that in spite of the allegation that he received N50 million from ex-National Security Adviser, Dasuki Sambo, and his alleged promise to return N5 million out of the sum to the government, he still thinks his integrity and name are intact. He said: “I do not regret working with the former President. If you worked with his government, it is a different kind of exposure. It is like going to the university. If you like, you can call it the University of Life. “I’m grateful for the opportunity I had to serve at that highest level in Nigeria and for the many lessons and quality exposure that I received.http://dailypost.ng/2017/02/27/dont-regret-working-goodluck-jonathan-reuben-abati/

I love Buhari. By the time he is through with Nigeria and the southwest especially, lagos-ondo brethen will get on their knees and beg Jonathan to come back and rule for 8 uninterrupted years, not minding what the constitution says. Adesina please carry on |
Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has said only President Muhammadu Buhari would tell Nigerians when he is coming back to the country. Adesina said this to State House correspondents who took him up on his earlier statement that the president said he needed a longer period of rest, necessitating his staying longer than originally planned. When asked to confirmed reports that the President might be out for several months, Adesina said, “What we have just said is what I will want us to believe. The President said he needs to rest further. The same President that communicated that to us, when it is time for him to come, he will also communicate to us”.On when Buhari is expected back, the Presidential Spokesman reiterated what he wrote in the statement, “The President wants Nigerians to know that he appreciates their prayers; he appreciates their concerns and their goodwill. He has added that there is really no cause to worry.“He is the one who owns the body and there is nobody who will know his body more than him and he says no cause to worry. “It makes sense to say that maybe from the results of the tests, further rests had been recommended. The statement did not say how long the rest will last.“I speak for somebody; I do not speak for myself. So it is what he tells me to say that I say and the statement transmitted to me is that the President needs to rest for some further time”. On the possibility of the President speaking to Nigerians?, Adesina replied, “What he has just done is to speak to Nigerians”. Asked to state exactly what is wrong with the President, Adesina replied, “Don’t you know that the Hippocratic Oath even forbids a doctor from speaking about the condition of his patient except the patient authorises it? It is only the patient himself who can speak about what he is going through. This is the person going through these series of tests and rest and he says no cause to worry, let us believe that”.Asked why a journalist trying to reach the President was being harassed in London, Adesina said, “I do not consider that an harassment. Presidents are not hijacked and interviewed. Those things are scheduled. So, I do not consider that as harassment.”On the claim that the President has lost his voice, Adesina said, “Those people need to proveit. He spoke with President Trump. Did Trump say he did not speak with Nigerian President. Anybody can allege anything.“My message to Nigerians is that let us learn to believe our leaders. This is a man we elected intooffice and he says no cause to worry, let us believe him”.http://sunnewsonline.com/only-buhari-can-tell-us-when-hes-coming-back-adesina/ |

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has said the on-going recession rocking the nation can be linked to the activities of the Niger-Delta militants last year.He stated this on Monday while delivering his opening remarks at an investigative hearing on the alleged violation of the Public Procurement Act and abuses of the Amnesty Programme jointly organized by the House of Representatives Committees on Public Procurement and Niger Delta Affairs.Dogara said that in 2016, the intense militancy activities that raged in the Niger Delta region and the rising security risks which hindered the exploration of oil and economic activities in the region, resulted in a drastic reduction in Nigeria’soil production capacity and revenues; foreign direct investment and the dwindling of the nation’s economy. He noted that the activities of militants cost Nigeria, the giant of Africa, to lose its position as the largest producer and exporter of oil in the African continent.Dogara said there was an urgent need to take necessary steps to solve the problems of increasing loss of revenue accruable to the federal government which is estimated to be between $50 billion and $100 billion; and the lossof about 3000 MW of electricity due to the renewed tension in the region. He said this can be achieved through the restoration of the Amnesty programme. The Speaker urged all stakeholders and participants in the public hearing to be open-minded, honest and constructive in their contributions, adding that the Green Chambers expects the Joint Committee to take into consideration the submissions and positions presented by stakeholders in arriving at its recommendations to the House. He said: “Your participation in this Hearing as stakeholders, will not only assist the House of Representatives in the discharge of its constitutional duties, but also contribute to the on-going efforts to move Nigeria’s economy out of Recession.“It is worthy of note that the activities of the militants cost, Nigeria, the giant of Africa, to lose its position as the largest producer and exporter of oil in the African continent.“According to Dr Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Nigeria lost between $50 billion and$100 billion in oil revenues to militant attacks on installations in 2016. At a point, he said, the attacks cut production to 1.2 million barrels a day— a loss of 1 million barrels a day.“Indeed Nigeria lost about 3,000 MW of electricity to militancy activities in the Niger Delta, since then, according to Raji Fashola (SAN) – the Hon Minister of Works, Power, and Housing.“As representatives of the people, the House noted the urgent need to take necessary steps to solve these problems, and restore the Amnesty programme to the ideals for which it was set up.“Let me use this opportunity to state that a more permanent solution which directly empowers the areas and stakeholders where oil and gas is produced should be instituted in order to achieve better fiscal, social and environmental equity. It is in this regard, that we welcome the recent announcement of the Hon Minister of State, Petroleum, of the unveiling of a 20-point agenda aimed at instituting permanent peace in the oil-producing region.“I urge all stakeholders and participants in this hearing to be open minded, honest and constructive in their contributions and we expect the Joint Committee to take into consideration the submissions and positions presented by stakeholders in arriving at its recommendations to the House.”http://dailypost.ng/2017/02/20/dogara-blames-nigerias-recession-niger-delta-militants/ |
stewpid buffons, they can't even factcheck themselves before opening their smelly lying mouths |
President Muhammadu Buhari was not the first African leader called by U.S. President Donald Trump. The American leader spoke with his Egyptian counterpart, Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, on January 23, three days after his inauguration and three weeks before calling Mr. Buhari and South African President Jacob Zuma on February 13. News reports from the United States and Egypt said Mr. Trump discussed bilateral issues bordering on terrorism and extremism with Mr. El Sisi. This contradicts claims by presidential media aides that Mr. Trump’s call to Mr. Buhari was the first to any African leader since being sworn in a month ago. At least two media aides to the president, Garba Shehu and Tolu Ogunlesi, made the misleading assertion while propping it as a major foreign policy success for the administration. Mr. Shehu told Channels Television on February 14 that Mr. Trump’s call to his principal was not entirely surprising given Nigeria’s place in Africa, especially in areas of diplomacy and politics. “It shouldn’t surprise anyone that President Trump made the choice of making the first African call to the Nigerian President,” he saidwww.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/223897-fact-check-buharis-aide-wrong-president-not-first-african-leader-called-trump.html

If there is a revolution, this guy, his staffers and his entire family should face the firing squad. |
“This is the man with the golden touch,” Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo excitedly told a guest in full glare of jubilant supporters and an observing press. “Anything he touches turns to gold.”He is talking about Adebola Williams, chief executive officer of StateCraft Inc, the communication agency that helped power Ghana’s three-time presidential aspirant to a victory this time, becoming President in January. He is not exaggerating. Williams, only 30 this year, has turned out to be the continent’s leading authority on winning elections, running a governance communication company that won the presidential elections in Nigeria in 2015 and then won the presidential elections in Ghana in 2016.Both elections are eerily similar. Both incumbents, as Vice-Presidents had stumbled into public office based on the deaths of their principals. Both entered into office on a wave of wild popularity. Their opponents had run at least twice each before (three in the caseof Nigeria’s Muhammadu Buhari) – and both had won in the years that they brought in StateCraft Inc to manage their political communication. Both campaigns ran on a ‘Change’ message.http://www.forbes.com/sites/mfonobongnsehe/2017/02/17/meet-the-30-year-old-nigerian-entrepreneur-who-helped-3-african-presidents-get-elected/#331a8b6f39bc

I love Buhari. By 2019, Nigerians will beg on their knees for Jonathan to come back |
Muhammadu Buhari's nearly month-long medical leave in London is a sharp reminder to taxpayers that while they finance their leaders' health care abroad, they often are stuck with decrepit, ill-staffed government health facilities at home. For decades, Nigerians have paid for their leaders and former rulers to get medical treatment overseas. That courtesy also extends to senior government employees. This is despite taxpayers' funding of the State House Medical Center, said to be Nigeria's best-equipped facility, which serves the president and vice president, their families and staff. The center's budget this year of 3.8 billion naira to care for fewer than 1,000 people represents 1 percent of the entire public health budget for the country's 170 million people."For years, billions have been budgeted for the State House Medical Center while it has always been evident that every president mostly accessed medical facilities outside the country, going back to the 1980s," said Oluseun Onigbinde, co-founder of BudgIT, an organization that tries to bring clarity to the West African nation's opaque budget. The mysterious nature of Buhari's absence is adding to the unhappiness at home, as one of Africa's largest economies and oil producers lurches through a recession. His government has not said what exactly his health issues might be or when he will return. The President's trip, originally scheduled from Jan. 20to Feb. 6, was described as a vacation during which he would undergo routine medical tests. It has been extended for further tests. Officials insist that Buhari is "hale and hearty," and he was well enough this week to speak by telephone with U.S. President Donald Trump. Human rights lawyer Femi Falana said Nigerians should seize on the president's medical leave to demand adequate funding for public hospitals he described as ``mortuaries for the masses.''"The practice of allowing poor citizens to die of preventable diseases while top public officers and rich private citizens are allowed to travel abroad for medical treatment can no longer be justified," he said in a lecture this week, noting that Nigerians have a life expectancy of 52 years, though the World Health Organization puts it at 49.It is not clear how much the country's taxpayers pay for leaders' treatments abroad. Former first lady Patience Jonathan has claimed that half of $31.5 million frozen in a corruption investigation was a government payout for medical bills she incurred in London in 2013. Ever-witty Nigerians took to social media to ask if she was buying eternal life. The Ministry of Health estimated that Nigeria paid about $1 billion for government officials traveling abroad for medical care in 2014, with ordinary Nigerians spending about $6.3 billion in 2015 for what is called medical tourism.Senior Nigerian officials get "high yearly allowances" for health care abroad which"provides them opportunity to demand amounts totake care of their non-health care needs like shopping abroad,'' economist Vitalis Chi. Nwaneriwrote in his 2013 book "Governing the Ungovernable."Former military dictator Gen. Ibrahim Babangida returned home this month from a six-week"medical vacation" in Switzerland. Last year, he was treated for weeks in Germany.Taxpayers also footed the bill when former President Umaru Yar'Adua received months of medical treatment in Saudi Arabia in 2008-2009, before he returned home to die in office. In April, Buhari announced that his government would no longer pay for officials to travel abroad for medical services available at home. But two months later, the president was in London for treatment of an ear infection."The best-funded clinic in Nigeria does not suffice to treat the president's ear infection. Nor does the president have enough confidence in the same clinic to do his `routine checkups' there," novelist Okey Ndibe wrote at saharareporters.com ."Imagine, then, the fate of Nigerians who have no choice but must seek treatment at the ill-equipped, wretchedly funded hospitals in our country?" he asked. Nigeria has just five hospital beds for every 100,000 people, as opposed to a global average of 35 beds and 24 beds per 100,000 in South Africa, which has the continent's most advanced medical care, according to a PricewaterhouseCoopers study in 2015.Nigerians who can afford it shun even private health care at home. Because the country has one of the world's worstinfant and maternal mortality rates, women fly to the United States and Britain to have babies safely delivered. The risk of a woman dying because of pregnancy or childbirth in Nigeria is one in 15, compared to one in 5,000 in developed nations, according to Dr. Chris Akani, professor ofobstetrics and gynecology at Nigeria's College of Health Sciences at the University of Port Harcourt. Buhari's medical costs do not come with a heftily priced five-star hotel bill, as did those of predecessors. The 74-year-old anti-corruption crusader known for his simple lifestyle is staying at the residence of the Nigerian High Commission in London, a spokesman saidhttp://www.voanews.com/a/buhari-nigeria-medical/3727002.html |
