"Head of IDF Manpower Maj.-Gen. Asor, Commander of the Military Police, commanders and soldiers, I am very impressed by your work at all times but especially now, when the challenges facing you have grown significantly, to put it mildly.

The missions have become greater as have your efforts.

You defend the State of Israel and the citizens of Israel around the clock, in various missions, while assuming risks and sometimes with sacrifice. I want to commend you and tell you – well done. Thank you very much.

I want to thank the rabbi not only for the flawless reading but also for your important remarks regarding the reading, which were not extraneous but go to the heart of the matter.

Today we mark the holiday of Purim.
More than 2,000 years ago in ancient Persia, an antisemitic enemy arose, the wicked Haman, who sought to wipe the Jewish people off the face of the Earth.
The Jews stood up, united together, fought and won a total victory.

Today in modern Persia, there is a new enemy – the Iranian regime, which seeks to destroy the state of the Jews.

We have already seen what Hamas, one of this enemy's proxies, did on October 7, which President Biden also called sheer evil.

It is impossible to defeat the sheer evil by leaving it intact in Rafah. As in ancient times, like our brothers, we are also united.

LGBTREE? 'ECOSEXUALITY' IS THE LATEST SEXUAL ORIENTATION THAT MEANS PEOPLE ARE 'TURNED ON' BY NATURE, INCLUDING TREES

A sexual orientation centered around the seductiveness of nature has drawn eye-rolls from social media users, mocking people who have reportedly fallen in love with trees.

The term ‘ecosexual’ is the state of finding nature sexually appealing, whether that means feeling at one with nature’s ‘energy’ or physically caressing nature.

A sexual health coach on TikTok described ‘ecosexuality’ as an umbrella term for people who ‘treat nature as a sensual partner.’

But stories such as the Toronto woman who embarked on an ‘erotic’ relationship with an oak tree and a clip on the British TV show Naked Attraction in which a cast member calls herself an ecosexual have garnered social media responses like ‘Society is doomed’ and ‘Why aren’t people like this being locked up? Or getting treated?’

The ecosexuality tag on TikTok has been viewed more than 470,000 times, with videos showing people taking freezing cold plunges in creeks, caressing lemons, and rubbing themselves against trees.

The term was coined by former sex educated Annie Sprinkle who, in 2008, ‘married’ the earth in a green wedding ceremony. Her ecosexuality involved removing the term ‘mother’ from Mother Earth, and changing it to Lover Earth.

Other weddings followed: a blue wedding to the sky, a purple wedding to the moon, a white wedding to the snow and many more. Each time, Sprinkle vowed to love, honor and cherish a different part of nature.

Stefanie Weiss, an intimacy counselor, said that she feels her ecosexuality come out most acutely when she goes to the beach.

She said: ‘When I go, my whole body blisses out the first moment my feet touch the hot sand. Feeling the sun on my skin, the smell of salt or coconut oil, and the feeling of tiny waves nipping at my ankles—this is a kind of Eco-Sex. 

'Even if there is no human lover present, this brings me an undeniable erotic charge. That’s my relationship to the earth, and she never leaves me wanting.’


People who consider themselves ecosexual may deny the assumption that they ‘like to have sex with trees’, but Sonja Semyonova, 45, has described her relationship with an oak tree as ‘erotic’.

Sonja moved to Vancouver Island in Canada in the winter of 2020 and went on daily walks during lockdown.

During her walks, Sonja would stroll past a large oak tree near her home and she began having 'erotic' experiences in summer 2021.

She describes the tree as having all the qualities she has looked for in a person - stability, protection, and support.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Friday that Israel remained determined to send troops into the southern Gaza city of Rafah, and would do so without U.S. backing if necessary.

Netanyahu said in a statement he had told visiting U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken that there was no way to defeat the Islamist movement Hamas without going into Rafah. "And I told him that I hope we will do it with the support of the U.S., but if we have to - we will do it alone," he said.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday said the military would “finish the job” of destroying Hamas in the southern Gaza city of Rafah while allowing civilians to leave, as US leaders warn against such a move.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu berated Israel’s allies, first and foremost the United States, for pressuring it to hold off on the planned ground offensive into Rafah. He also condemned the mounting criticism being leveled at Israel, highlighting concerns about civilian harm and lack of aid to the Gaza Strip.

In his unusually candid remarks delivered during a televised speech to AIPAC delegates gathered in Washington, Netanyahu continued the ongoing public rift between the White House and Jerusalem over Israel’s conduct in the Gaza War.

“To our friends in the international community, I say this: You cannot say you support Israel's right to exist and to defend itself and then oppose Israel when it exercises that right,” Netanyahu charged.

“You cannot say you support Israel's goal of destroying Hamas and then oppose Israel when it takes the actions necessary to achieve that goal.
You cannot say that you oppose Hamas's strategy of using civilians as human shields and then blame Israel for the civilian casualties that result from this Hamas cynical strategy.”

In his AIPAC speech, Netanyahu thanked Biden and his administration for their support but also stressed: “None of these pressures will stop us. Israel's very future, its very survival is at stake. We have no other option but total victory.”

Seemingly responding directly to the comments made by Biden and U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, Netanyahu dismissed the idea that his policies were contrary to Israeli public opinion.

“The truth of the matter is that the people of Israel overwhelmingly support the policies set forth by myself and my government. They overwhelmingly support the need for total victory… They overwhelmingly oppose the idea of having a Palestinian state rammed down our throat.”

Netanyahu also addressed the mounting international pressure for Israel Defense Forces to hold off on the planned ground incursion into the town of Rafah, Hamas’ last major stronghold in the Gaza Strip.

“To win this war, we must destroy the remaining Hamas battalions in Rafah,” Netanyahu reiterated. “If not, Hamas will regroup, rearm and reconquer Gaza and then we're back to square one. And that's an intolerable threat that we cannot accept.”

“We will destroy Hamas, free our hostages and ensure that Gaza doesn't ever pose a threat to Israel again,” the prime minister vowed.

“For Israel, every civilian death is a tragedy. For Hamas, every civilian death is a strategy. so it is wrong and immoral to hold Israel to a standard for avoiding civilian casualties that no other country on earth is
