iykedare is quite right. Both are two very different cities and far apart in so many ways. Toronto is freakin busy while London is on the quiet side. Busy means more expensive while London is way cheaper. It now boils down to you as the individual. Choose what you want to do based on your program and your heart desire. Both schools are designated learning institutions so that's out of the way. You might also consider reputation but its really up to you. I am a firm believer of making up ones mind and sticking to it no matter what. |

emma4eva: Whatever food you like is fine. Meanwhile Canadian border security has its own list of prohibited items like diary products, meat, fish (including gala). Beverages that have milk has the first ingredient will also be removed. As long as you declare all the items ure bringing in including cash; you should be fine. 1 Like |

DanielUC: That decision solely depends on WES. When i did my WES evaluation, all they asked for was coloured copies. Don't know if that rule has changed as well. Was a student at SAIT. |

DanielUC: DanielUC: I guess SAIT has changed the rules again this year. When we applied, they had us send our original first degree certificate to them for assessment. If they are asking for it to be done through WES then i guess they are trying to centralize everything. In that case, do something called an educational assessment with WES. You can have them send the result to you and then SAIT. If you think about it, its kinda better because you will need the WES assessment when applying for your OR later. |

Teddywhiz1: There is a permit for Coop required to do internship. After studies you can apply for a work permit to enable you work full time. You need to apply for this permit at least 2 or 3 months before your study permit expires. |

Teddywhiz1: There are quite a number of questions like this on this thread and the answer is almost the same. She can practice in Canada, She can join him, She will need to do qualifying exams in Canada (with respect to her profession). It requires a lot of paper work and can usually take a long time to process too. If its what they really want to do then they should go for it |

xdamson: I wonder why those people said it was a scam. The College is 46 years old for crying out loud. Anyway, the important factor to consider is if it is a designated learning institution (DLI). Being a DLI helps you in getting a study permit from CIC. If it is not a DLI, ill advise you move on 1 Like |

mcdreeezy: One of the best way(s) to make progress on your application is to do some research yourself. The mode of application for every university or college isnt necessarily the same. Simply visit to their website and it will be written there in black and white. You will also find full details on their tutition. |

deeMarc: It's never too early to start application for a particular session. As long as the school you're applying to is receiving applications; then you're good to go. Personally i am not a fan of skipping NYSC (especially if u want to go back to naija) but its really up to you. As for which school, that is the work you will have to do by yourself. Except you are lucky to find or meet someone currently taking the course you wan to do. 2 Likes |

lumeysparrow: Duration of work permit depends largely on CIC. There is an average time frame on their website but I will advise you plan ahead. A professor accepting you is definitely an added bonus but not compulsory. Every school has a liaising person especially for international students. Best thing is to contact them (send email) for more info. |

3doursdown: Please read my reply again. I never said study for 1 year and get 3 years. I was giving a real life scenario of people that I know personally that got 2 and 3 years work permit after studying for a year. You can decide to play it safe and study for 2 years or take the risk. 1 Like |

aishate: I have a friend that did a 1 year study, got a one year work permit and he got his PR a month to the expiration of his work permit. I have another one who studied for a year and then got a 3 year work permit. The rule says 1 year study = 1 year work permit; 2 year study = 3 year work permit. Its more at the discretion of the officer viewing your forms and giving you the appropriate permit. Unfortunately you dont choose the officer in charge. You might however be lucky and get more than you're supposed to get. Some people have the "balls" to take that chance. Its really up to you to make up your mind. 1 Like 1 Share |

RealJ:I remember the first time i came in too, my peeps wanted me to stay in calgary and withdraw from the college i originally applied to in London. I am happy i declined eventually. It cost me more but the experience i got is priceless. Most colleges hardly do refunds when it comes to tuition. Even if they do refund you, its never 100% and the process can be long and grueling. Also, i don't thing you're allowed to stay out of school for more than 4 months even if its between colleges. Its an automatic red flag for CIC because the question is, what have you been doing in Canada for the last 5 months ? Also, your college is obligated to report to the CIC if you are not attending classes. Its part of the audit process. |
